I feel like the moon is also a great representation of the female lead, as the sky/space is often romanticized as a "sea" of some sort, and with the moon hanging over the island, it might be pointing to the moon being an isle by itself, in the sea of space, away from the male lead on Earth.

thank you for making these, i've been confused on what specifically the beginning of hawaii part ii has been about i like seeing it as, "isle unto thyself" being about simon's feelings and thoughts going to hawaii to get married and "black rainbows" being about betty's feelings going to hawaii to get married, and then white ball being the climax of both of those. now i kinda imagine this song as simon feeling pressured into getting married since hes already there and cant back out. and over time he builds up so much anxiety and stress that he panics and, well...

I have always thought of this song as a flashback(as simon’s voice part is a little higher) and the rest of the songs as more reflective with The Mind Electric another flashback and Dream Sweet in Sea Major at the present time as he reflects on everything he has done.

Betty and simon story is just like the adventure time one speaking of that some people made a theory that this whole album is about the adventure simon and Betty. Note I added my little twist that it is about adventure simon and Betty’s love life but more realistic and the mushroom war didn’t happen and he also didn’t get access too the crown or he did it just want as powerful

I feel like "Such impossible bliss" (x6) is meant to sound at surface level uplifting and optimistic, but as it repeats, at least to my ears, the word 'impossible' starts to stand out, and I imagine the emphasis is very intentional. It's impossible, it cannot be possible. They cannot be happy despite the very event occurring in this song, and both Simon and Betty have explained why in two very different ways. Simon because he's slowly going batshit, and Betty because she's just explained all the great reasons she should be running while ending it with "but it's okay, he's just my loving goofball~ 😋" The bliss marriage should bring is impossible

Simon refers to the judge as Father, which isn't typical and the judge definitely isn't his father. To me, this reads not to me as Simon being a literal child, but that he is not as significant as whoever he is addressing. Father is a common name for a pastor or God, so this frames Simon as beneath them.

How can Simon get married if he’s a minor, in “The Mind Electric” Judge Marvin says “Resident Minor” He’s referring to Simon because in Demo 3 he says instead “Resident ‘Simon’ ”😑

Two explanations 1. It's a metaphor. He thinks of himself as minor/insignificant in face of the judge, who has control over his fate. He calls him father and the song is full of religious subtext, unless you mean to tell me the judge is Simon's dad, the trial is not to be taken completely straight 2. Even if it was, he could just be a resident of the minor court. A murder case likely wouldn't go beyond that
