One of the "random" dancers in the nightclub was George Chakiris who went on to win a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for "Westside Story" in 1961. A close-up of him with Rosemary Clooney in "White Christmas" generated such fan mail that Paramount signed him to a contract. He had a long career in film, stage, television, night clubs, and had a minor recording career. P.S. There is no such thing as a "random" person in a dance number.

Some of these extravaganza-style films were like going to a night out at a Broadway show for the audience; there were dance numbers, vocal numbers, some romance, some comedy, some drama, some sentimentality, impressive costumes and sets, some well-known stars and lasted long enough to feel you are getting your money’s worth.

Very true. I definitely enjoy the older films. They were just so wholesome.

The blonde showgirl in the beginning of the film is Barrie Chase.

@ Originally the role of the bishop was going to be Cary Grant but the director changed their roles. For the better, in my opinion. And Loretta is beautiful in the old studio lighting.

@@KimSimful Would have been interesting to see Cary in the role, just out of curiosity.

Other delightful Christmas films - or at least partially set at Christmas: The Bishop’s Wife; Meet Me in St.Louis; It Happened on 5th Avenue; Remember the Night; Holiday Affair. If you want a very dark, downbeat, film noir set at Christmas- Blast of Silence (mostly filmed on locations.) The Thin Man (1934) also has scenes at Christmas.

I've seen a few of these but some others I'll definitely check them out, one or two for the channel.

I enjoy reaction videos, but you seem to be more interested in making inane comments and doing a standup routine.
