@elliottvoran83756 жыл бұрын
Boss Lady I have black friends that weren’t raped whipped or hung neither. So it doesn’t matter what the word means, it only matters if we outwardly express our anger? Your level of outrage equaling how justified you are is ridiculous. And to say that blacks only use it as a term of affection is stupid. They use it in negative context all the time. Whites don’t call each other bad names based on race. If it is good or bad depending on your race...then you are the racist. That is the very definition of racism. Only difference is you think racism in this situation is justified.

My whole thing is.. why do you WANT to say it sooo badly? If you don’t understand the heavy history behind the word or don’t respect it or it’s PEOPLE enough to oblige in their request in you not to say it, you don’t even deserve to say it. I’m black and I didn’t even start sayin it till about late high school
@suicidaltree21606 жыл бұрын
Don J people wanna say it because like if you are rapping/singing along to a song you can’t even say it because you have to stop on the word and tbh it’s just irritating that the word is a huge part of rap culture etc and people can’t say it because of there race. It’s racist in and of itself.
@moviemonster4386 жыл бұрын
Communist Kid that’s completely understandable. Nobody wants to be censored. BUT thats people bein worries about their own sentiment, if you look at the BIG PICTURE (as in the REAL WORLD) whether it’s a part of rap culture doesn’t matter or not. It was huge in the 90’s too with rap culture aaaaaannnd blacks themselves were demonized for it back then! Rappers were just being scorned 20 years ago! But now that’s it’s mainstream and the MOST popular genre of music today all of a sudden we’re (Blacks) are supposed to automatically feel comfortable with white people using the word because OUR people used it in OUR music? The word is bigger than a song lyric. And obviously as can be seen from this video, the word isn’t even given the RESPECT & CAUTION it warrants. That word has a HUGE historical connotation behind it.. so because it’s used in media by our people it’s supposed to be okay for crowds of white sorority’s to chant “IM ROLLIN WIT THUG NIGGAS!” cause it’s in a song? No. Again, this is all perceptive and everyone has they opinion. But in MY opinion if you’re not black, you have NO responsibility Glover the word, it’s not your RIGHT to say it. If you got homies who let you, that’s cool. But don’t be surprised if you say it in the wrong setting and get BOPed because someone heard it out of context 🤷🏾♂️
@the1whoplayz5 жыл бұрын
You're not entitled to the word "nigga" more than any other person (be they White, Hispanic, Chinese, Middle Eastern, etc...). If a white dude wants to say it, then sure. Who are you to stop them with their 1st Amendment Right? If a black person gets mad and assaults the person who said "nigga", then they are breaking the law and should be thrown in jail.

I’m willing to not use that word so I can at least pay for my ancestry. And I don’t care if it’s used in songs. Don’t use the word. It’s not that hard to not use it have some restraint in your life. I feel and think white people who use the "N" word the way us black people use it is not the same. I've grown up around family and friends saying in a form of endearment in the black community( im not speaking for all black people because everyone has a different opinion, just speaking for myself) that's what im use to and take it as such. I honestly cringe when i hear white people say it like, idk its just sounds like a whole lot of ignorance behind it and their trying too hard Lol..just like Charlemagne tha god said: "expect the consequences white people" *shrugs*

Jamye Cooley lol in everything else we say "lead by example" But Black people will always be hypocrites on this subject where leading by example is concerned How are people like this female supposed to take the ramifications seriously? Because If the word is that deep and damaging black people will have stopped using it period. And then stupid people like this lady would think twice I don't use the word, even towards another black people. Just because I strongly believe a word used to devalue black people shouldn't have a place in any time, nor should it ever be twisted and repackaged as "endearment" We cannot have our cake and it it. If you want the other person to stop stomping on your toes, stop stomping them yourself

Leonard tha God That's apart of the lingo now. It's not realistic to remove something that has oddly become a cultural entity of a sort... But why is it white people think they have the cultural ties to it?? How about white people follow the example of white people who don't use it out of respect for people like Paul Wall and Eminem... These white dudes probably "blacker" then half of real black people out here but they grew up with MORALS and VALUES to respect people that dont look like them. And lead by example? We do that anyway.. If we switch up our lingo monday white people will be on to it by tuesday morning. Like Prince said, "you may be a minority in numbers but there is nothing minor about your stock".

I'm assuming here but I think what Jack means is that when you are singing along to Snoop D and you use the n-w when HE uses it in the song... it's not a put down against black people. It is only reciting the actual lyrics that the artist wrote and recorded. Idk why this point is so hard to understand. It's low hanging fruit in the whole n-word issue. I never would have thought white people cannot enjoy rap the same way black people can. Noone is self censoring, especially by themselves. There's a whole lot of liars in this comment section claiming they "never say it"... even when rapping by themselves to rap music? That's a huge lie. I'll never believe that.
