Here is one last train ride from the White Creek Railroad for 2022
In this video I highlight some of the features of this large private railroad. Some wildlife is seen including a hawk, four white tail dear, and a squirrel.
Let me know if you want to see anything specific of this wonderful railroad in future videos.
I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

Great Tour. I especially like how White Creek has made all the different locations along the track. It must make Operation Meets really enjoyable.

Meets are a lot of fun. With many trains running and “working” the various towns. And watching out for up to six scheduled passenger trains each hour. I have many more White Creek videos on my channel. Thanks for watching

I haven't been out to White Creek in probably close to 10 years now unfortunately. My first time was 2004 I think, and I remember the 6% grade at avalanche, it was still there, but the long trestle was already in place (but the tunnel wasn't). I went up and down the 6% part with our VO-1000 diesel just to see what it was like... oh yeah, you could get out of control in a hurry if you weren't careful! I also remember the original Green River alignment too. It was interesting hearing your narration about the towns on the map, especially Three Mile Island... because me as a Pennslyvania guy, TMI has a completely different meaning! Happy New year and I hope to make it out this year!

The owner is making modifications to the way passing sidings are used. With remote throws on most and moving the signal buttons to between the tracks. If no train is present you will be able to use either track for both directions.

I've watched this video several times since you posted it --- I always find it fun and relaxing. Of course I've seen many others of your W.C.R.R. videos, but this is the one that keeps calling me back. This is my favorite of all the scale-model train operations videos I've seen. Thank you so much! (p.s. Did they ever get that UFO out of that pit by Appletree, or are they still working on it? I think those workers might be candidates for Russ's Dog House if it doesn't get done!)..... Ken from NYC

You have a very nice setup. Thank you for showing your line. I bet it is very pretty in the late spring and all green. I am sure you have checked out Train Mountain in Oregon. The time to go is there Triannual in the end of June every three years. A week long event. If you decide to go get your reservations in October of the year before. It is the largest in the world. With over 36 MILES OF TRACK!! That is real miles. They even have camping on site. 2400 acres of simi forested mountain land. Not much level track. The next one should be 2025. Give some thought on going. I have done the Triannual five times. It is 7.5 inch track. Again thank you for showing what you have. You did a nice job explaining what we were seeing. Steven Sipes

I got a 3.5" live steam English locomotive. Runs on alcohol. Going to figure out how to get it overhauled and build a railroad on my 1 acre yard.
@steamlogger
@steamlogger Жыл бұрын
Very nice. 3.5" is not real popular in the States. But there are a few clubs with track. The closest to me is the Illinois Liver Steamers near Chicago.

@@steamlogger Thanks for the reply. Yeah, it came from Great Britain. Old school vintage 20s or 30s. I have to get it overhauled. It has no water sight glass for the boiler and it has no pressure gauge! That sounds dangerous. I also have to learn how to run it lol.

Fascinating loco! It looks like a lot of castings to help it have some weight? IS the battery stored in the loco on the riding car?
@steamlogger
@steamlogger Жыл бұрын
I am using a small 8 amp hour Lithium battery pack that fits in the cab. The loco is designed to have a 12 volt lead acid battery that fills the cab. My battery pack is much smaller but it gives me room for the radio control and sound system.

Do you have an actual carfloat operation too?
@steamlogger
@steamlogger Ай бұрын
No actual carfloat. Just a dock to place cars on. This one was moved a few years ago from Eaton. There is a second dock on three Mile Island that is now just an industry. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZLPgq1oi9V2hZY

6:45 On my first cross-country flight I got, well, lost (I mean I knew approximately where I was but not specifically; several little pissant towns that all seemed to look alike from above). I spotted a water tower. Aha! Went down a little, circled it and... it said "WATER". Really? You paid money to paint "Water" on the water tower? Afraid people would confuse it with the maple syrup tower?
@steamlogger
@steamlogger 4 ай бұрын
That must have been frustrating. Years ago my brother had a plane. I flew a couple times with him but in our local area and we recognized landmarks.
@natehill8069
@natehill8069 4 ай бұрын
@@steamloggerAbout the time I had ~30 hours something clicked in my head and from then on I easily found my way around through pilotage (ie looking out the window and finding landmarks from the map). My instructor forbid me from using the VOR, so I had to learn it that way. NOW when I get into a plane with another pilot I am amazed how bad they are at pilotage. One time I was in the cockpit of a C-130 and the crew was having trouble finding the airport visually and I stepped up, pointed out the window and said "there" (granted it was my local area I was familiar with).
