This was a perfect example of a conversation on two different frequencies. The interviewer is on a poverty, misogynistic transactional, fear mindset, where the couple are in a wealth generated, equality, partnership mindset. It was too dufferent frequencies. The black couple was more onnthe interviewers frequency, of course with the BW being unprotected in the conversation.

You can tell the wife is thinking, "Can we not tell this random misogynist I have 35k on my finger? I'd like to make it home with both hands tonight, Love." She can sense the hate, the envy, the jealousy. It took him longer to realize this man was a threat to his wife, but when he did he stepped right up, "I believe that question should be directed at me." When black women complain they aren't protected, the assumption is always we want physical violence. But a lot of the time you can protect someone with words. This is an example of a man protecting his wife.

He said, “money is not an issue, anyone can get a cheap ring if that’s what you want to do, and it depends on how much you make.” Someone who has money knows how to meet standards and doesn’t need to be concerned with what a woman “brings to the table.” $35k is nothing to him. The stupid interviewer needs to get step his money up like a real man instead of trying to demean that beautiful couple.

So many black men try to SAY they’re “providers” , but notice how triggered they get when they meet men who show & prove they can provide without needing to say it. Also notice that the woman hangs back and let’s her man LEAD their side of the conversation, even when she’s asked the question. Meanwhile, the dusty holding the mic knows that even if her man wasn’t there, there’s no way she’d leave her husband for his lame azz. As the saying goes, boys carry themselves one way and men another, and any woman who knows the difference simply does not and cannot tolerate boys after experiencing the love of a MAN.

However, cultural speaking, wm don’t hold that AGAINST them and by in large they KNOW they’re not getting a mother to their children without a wife. Lastly, even if this guy spent $3500 this guy is “high value” based on mindset. There are a considerable amount of men who think “high value” means “he makes money. Without knowing anything about that woman the interviewer already decided she doesn’t deserve what he gives. He should feel like a loser but won’t because he will go back around men with his mindset and get his dust replenished.

Also, my thing is that a lot of black men champion the independent woman. When you look back at the 1980s and the 1990s you will see from everything including music where you have professional black men who were saying they wanted Miss Independent. In fact, they needed Miss Independent because they needed assistance with financially being able to support the black family and actually use that as an excuse as to why a lot of black men abandoned. The black family was that the black woman was too uneducated and she did not have the ability to financially assist him. Now it's interesting that this generation is bashing the same Miss Independent that their fathers were praising. And the whole reason they wanted Miss Independent wasn't because they wanted a masculine acting type of woman so to speak but that they wanted to be selfish and not contribute the full sum of being the head of households requires. In fact, they said they couldn't do that because of the fact that they were being paid less than the white man and so it was unrealistic for black women to have that expectation of being able to stay home and not being a financial contributor to the black household. So what did a lot of the baby boomer black mothers and the first generation X black mothers do they encourage their daughters to get educations because if they wanted a good black men they needed to be of assistance to that black man financially. So what did a lot of the second half of generation X do? We worked our butts off to get education so that we could be viable partners financially as well as emotionally to our black men and now our black men resent the fact that black women are saying well. If I put all this work in for you then you need to start putting some work in for me too. I'm sorry but black women should not accept less than just because we have black men who do not want to excel or think that we should accept mediocre while they always require our best. If you can't fill my cup darling, I will not fill yours either.

This should not be abnormal. The value of love varies by couple, but there should be mutual care and respect. I love that he jumped in and answered the interviewers frankly rude questions. He didn't leave her hanging. I just want to say that just because a man is white it does not mean he's good. Some women thinking about IR relationships think he's white, he'll be good. Nah babes he can be a disrespectful dusty too. All for IR, but vet these men. From most of these replies it seems like something got lost in translation, but I read this back and I was VERY clear. At one point there was a subset of BW online talking about just get you a WM, everything will be great. You can't just get a WM. You have to vet every man, and you have to do self-reflection and the work. Otherwise you will attract the same BM dusty in a pallet swap (WM). I absolutely loved what that man said in defence of his wife. He is what a real man who loves his woman looks like. My husband, who is Black may not have a lot of money but he has set up his finances so that if something happens to him I will be okay. He established a 1mil life insurance policy for himself incase something happens and he’s no longer around. Now at the time he did that I thought nothing of it but as time has gone by and he’s done a myriad of other things for me I’ve come to understand just how much he cares for me. I hope to God that I never have to cash out that policy. The fact that he did that for my sake though shows me just how much he values me and the life we’ve built together. I feel so blessed to have a REAL MAN as a husband. The young lady, his wife is also very blessed. I hope they have many years of happiness ahead of them.

I love the cookout analogy. Why would I REQUIRE you to bring the table when I’ve invited you here. It would be nice if someone brings some sodas without asking but it shouldn’t be expected. If you want a wife you don’t treat her like a cookout, treat her like a life long partner.

I'm gonna catch flack for saying this.. but the reason why black men tend not to do this, is because most of them never had examples of marriage or their mothers were unmarried. So something like this is foreign to them. This doesn't apply to all. As an african, this question of what yoh bringing is always from diaspora children
@Rodrasroom

That’s 100 percent true! A lot of men have not seen their fathers love their mothers therefore they do not know how to love into a position of marriage, AND they are blind from seeing a woman’s intrinsic value to him and his future legacy and don’t know what to look for in a wife.

Honestly, since women get the short end of the stick so often I DO want them to look at relationships as a business contract. Not that it's transactional but just that they are being smart and not ignoring red flags like the interviewer is sending out. Do a background check, a credit check, and have a prenup for both parties if there are prior assests. Go to marriage counseling and iron out future conflicts. If one of you is investing money into the property or business or education of the other have your name in writing on the benefit side of those investments and make sure there is reciprocity. This couple is doing great because there is mutual respect and investment. They have the support of both families. They know their worth to each other and have a plan for their future.

Yes ma'am. All we want is to be liked, loved, and have a man that is in love with us. Women of other nations get this far more than we do. Then they try to shame us by saying we are the least married. We are the least married because we are tired of being the least taken care of. If you have to take care of yourself, why do you need to marry?

My babe got me 3 expensive ring within 5 years of marriage. Each time he can afford higher he buys a more expensive one without me even asking. Ladies when he loves you he is willing to spend any money without even second guessing himself. 🥰 yes I am blessed and very grateful. I’m not sure what planet the interviewer is from and I’m glad he got checked. My ex went to a pawnshop and got me a cheap ring when I knew he could afford more. I gave him the ring back he got offended I left him and never looked back. I met a man who gave me 3 expensive rings in 5 years marriage. My ex? Still single and hoeing around. Imagine if I had settled 🤔 I would have settle for less. Ladies know your worth and don’t let anyone cheap you out.

A lot of valid points but it’s different for literally every marriage. People get a ring and start acting weird too…NONE of these couples are giving what people think. That first man is exceptional but I think Men and Women both need to look at it a bit more nuanced. It is not 1946 anymore and the economy also reflects that

As a single mom, I have taught my son how a woman is to be treated using the KJV bible. I also told him that I would have much preferred he had his father around but that simply was not possible as his father became very dangerous. Single moms need to tell their sons daily that this is not the way it should be. No little girl dreams of being a single mom. she dreams of her wedding day and a life with her husband and children.

21:04 This might be the craziest thing I have ever heard. But not a woman who works her ass off to keep her family together. Like what am I tripping 😂😂

I would like to add to the young Nigerian woman that was speaking on Americans (BLK). I would say as a collective the women do not respect the man because the man does not respect the woman. BW have been accepting cruel treatment since our grandmothers and even before then. If you do not see value in something you cannot expect to be viewed as valuable. The bonds have been one sided and transactional. The disdain has always been there but the disrespect happened gradually. I know she means well & it is her point of view. I do hope through the internet other countries are witnessing this. He shouldn’t have spoken to that man’s fiancé period. You cannot just speak to a man’s wife any way!! That’s out of pocket.

I slightly disagree with the title "White Man Set The Bar High For Men". No, he is not setting the bar high. He is conducting himself near where the bar *SHOULD BE* and *not setting* the bar there. He is just inadvertently showing that the bar was somewhere around here and its not there anymore. The bar unjustifiable got moved lower down, in my opinion (and I'm not asserting that I'm right but material that I come across have just led me to my *current* opinion and I still have a considerable amount to learn, keeping room for my change in perspectives in the future) happened somewhere in WW2, started around WW1. A significant amount of things changed, including attitudes towards marriage and s3x. Why? Because population desperately needed "replenishing". (Distasteful way of putting it, I know and I apologise right here for my crudeness.) And there were many other things that stood in the way of it happening as soon as possible, including PTSD, then known as "Shell-Shocked". Those that returned had absolutely no way that these returning men could have engaged in the process of finding a suitable girl to get married to and start a family, etc etc etc. They had very different hurdles facing them that society had no way of identifying, understanding and dealing with. Quite a lot happened between 1914 to 1946, but it doesn't get talked about that would specifically connect to the s3xual revolution. At least not enough. That "revolution" didn't happen one fine day/night. There was a build up. And WW1&2 was a significant contributing factor to it. I think that the bar getting moved could be traced to around this time. Though it would be unfair to say that the reason(s) lay more with this time period. What this white guy is simply doing is just conducting himself close to where *ANY MAN* should be at. And the amount of money is not the issue. We cannot be expecting a working class man to be coughing up money to reach the bar of the Uber-rich, be they old money or nouveau riche. The main thing is he is should be asking himself amongst many other things is: 1) am I ready for marriage? 2) what type of husband would I make? 3) what kind of wife to I want VS need? 4) what kind of mother to my kids do I want VS need? 5) What support am I capable of giving to my wife/family? 6)What support am I expecting from her? 7) is she capable of giving that? So on and so on. The same would apply to the woman. And looking at all the podcasts out there society is not asking itself these questions. All these decisions are based on "lust", which we are fooling ourselves into thinking its love, and "showing off", if you've got it flaunt it as in Look at what I've achieved, now envy me! And it seems that the white guy definitely had been raised to think along those lines that he was able to confidently have this conversation. No, he is not setting the bar high but we are rediscovering the bar and realising that we have been measuring up to the pseudo-bar. Time to dismiss the latter. I could say a lot more but this is just one bit of what we could take out of this clip, in my opinion.
