WHITE SEA BASS Fishing Aboard the ALOHA SPIRIT! (LIVE SQUID!)

After many, many, many years, I am so stoked for my dad to say he finally got his first white sea bass!
The Aloha Spirit announced late the night before that they had a last minute charter cancelation and they had live squid to go sea bass fishing. Couldn't pass up the opportunity.
Unfortunately I did not catch one this day, but I'm pumped Chef Eddie finally got to check one off the list!
Hopefully soon I can start targeting some more game fish and post some more epic content for you all!

You should charter ior head out on the Dreamer out of berth 55. Allen the captain is very well known for white sea bass spots

Sick ass video!! I still need to get a ghost, I've seen a small juvenile we threw back a week and a half ago on the Freedom fishing for halibut. Also need to get an Aloha spirit trip for some jumbo reds on my slowpitch setup lol.

Yeah we god so lucky having live squid this day! Usually it’s just chasing them and casting flukes, which is way cooler but way tougher. Hope you get on them next time, best of luck to you this season!

Long dropper loop. About 3 and a half foot up from the sinker, with a 2-3ft loop.

That’s cool and all but in luck today I don’t like big charterboats. I don’t like a bunch of people on the boat. I’ve been on smaller ones but they’re only six people that was fine. That was great ones with like 20 people. I’ve been on those boats and it’s miserable, you guys cross in lines and everything that’s like, so sweet

He was using a 8’ 20-40 lb rod With a torium 20, 65# braid to about a 50 yard mono top shot of 30# I’ll be filming a video in the near future of everything recommended to take WSB fishing!

Whats up Ray! I am looking into booking a trip out of Point Loma for a 1.5-2 day trip in June and was hoping to get some input as I’ve never been to that landing. Which boats would you recommend?

So in that area, Point Loma, Fisherman’s, and H&M all share the same parking lot and Seaforth isn’t too far away either. For a 1.5-2+ day trip, some of the boats I would personally wanna book with would be the Pacific Queen, Tomahawk, Liberty, Aztec,and the Legend. There’s a lot more around there too, but I’d start with those. Also, I’d start looking now. Most of those trips are getting sold out about a month in advance

By the way, you don't set the hook on these fish -- you just have to wait patiently until they load up the rod. The long dropper loop is the way to go but it can be boring and some of it is just luck.
