That's one heck of a massive 2-6-2 on the point of that passenger train! Wow! The driver of the van is lucky he wasn't killed.

LIGHTS? hundreds of tons with smoke and steam, at least twenty five feet in height, you really think a light would help? I don't think the van driver had his "light": on..

Its Poland, in many respects their some 20 - 30 years behind the rest of europe, as are some other countries. But still such a fantastic place with an outstanding culture.

I like how the crane unceremoniously picks the van up and moves it out of the way. Seems like someone gingerly picking up dirty, smelly clothes and putting them in the hamper

@salemcripple i presume you know routemaster buses are not polish . the routemaster is privately preserved . maybe with friends of the driver on board , hence no response of piss off when asked to stop to look at the accident .

I wonder if that was one of the pair of RM's stored down here in Dorset for a goodly while that were rumoured to go across Europe.

What else is really sad is I managed to actually ride on every routemaster still running in the 70's and 80's managing to tick every reg off so chances are I rode on that bus one day in my long ago youth lol I also did nearly all the RT's and the Leyland Nationals too.

I live in San Diego Calif. About 25 years ago I took a ride on the old San Diego and Arizona Eastern which winds it's way from the Mojave Desert to San Diego via Tecate,Mexico, despite all the signs,( in Spanish ) the Mexicans insisted in parking their cars on the track. You know, that 100 year old Consolidation sure had a way of clearing the track, even large trucks. Some of them vehicles sounded worse then a chicken caught in a tractors nuts when It hit them, Oh hey! I forgot to check for Mexicans, whoops, my bad!

Were (or are?) these locos in service or in preservation? Lovely engines , interesting crane and dickhead van driver.
@alexwright60383 жыл бұрын
It always surprise me, the stupidity of some people, a road vehicle made out of steel that is at best eighth of an inch thick against something that is an inch minimum. With a steam locomotive the you effectively hit the vehicle with the engine block. Might as well not put the brakes on as well with the stopping distance. The car/van will be a right off.

There is 2 old rattletrap steam locomotives that went to the foundry about 4 years after this film was taken! Good riddance!
@Cockroach20088 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Smith I have checked with many medical doctors & confirmed that the steam locomotive was never alive, is not alive & will never be alive. It is just a machine of transportation which has been replaced by a far superior technology. The steam locomotive was junk, is junk & for ever will be junk! The steam locomotive is a relic of the past which contains many materials to build the new machines & technology of the future. That future is in the mobile & flexible transportation tool of the motor truck! The steam locomotive is dead!

+Cockroach Don't be so harsh!... it takes two modern diesels to do the work of one old steam engine! and plus!.... the steam engine is way cooler to look at than a crummy old diesel! modern technology with all the computers on board constantly breaking down and burning up that's your junk!.....
@Cockroach20088 жыл бұрын
I am not being harsh. I never said they were not powerful, but at what cost? Highly inefficient, heavily polluting & maintenance costs are exorbitantly high, they were on death row 60 years ago. I think the diesel locomotive is far cooler to look at than a crummy old, back world relic of a steam locomotive. Modern technology has replaced the steam locomotive & now the black market will finish them off. The diesel locomotive is far more reliable than the junky old steam locomotive ever was.
@Rebel96687 жыл бұрын
Modern technology is junk. It fails easily and about all of it can be hacked, also when it breaks ya toss it away instead of repairing it. I have old radios from the 20's through the 50's that I've repaired and that sound great and are good to go for another 50-60 years. Try getting anything modern to last that long.
@Cockroach20087 жыл бұрын
+Rebel9668 Your opinion of modern technology is none of our concern or interest. If you don't like it, don't use it! It appears to be working quite well & is very reliable. Does your old radios process RDS information? I used to fix that stuff & it was not as portable as it is today. I will say the LC circuits certainly have a higher Q than PLL controlled oscillators for heterodyne receivers & transmitters. Analog has it's place but at what physical size & cost? Often the benefits of digital out weigh the disadvantages with the distributed networks we enjoy today. The reduced cost of that equipment made it possible to put it in more places than was possible 80 years ago. Steam locomotives have not been practical for over 70 years due to costs. They are relics & dinosaurs of the past which should be cut apart & melted down for the materials which can be processed into new products. Your opinion is none of our concern or interest.
