Here's the thing that set White Zombie apart from everybody else: Every show they did was an experience, not just a linear set of loud noises. Jay and Sean's aggressive riffs combined with Rob's showmanship was an incredible mix, and (at least in my opinion) nothing has come close to their energy/groove ever since.

A few people mentioned Ivan DePrume was on drums here but he actually left the band in 1992. If I'm correct, this was his replacement Phil Buerstatte. (RIP). IMO, Ivan was the driving force and one of the highlights of the awesome La Sexorcisto album!

@@dakotawinston7677Yeah, for me, Ivan/La Sexorcisto was the pinnacle. Sean had been in another band with Ivan and she brought him over to join her in Zombie. Yeah, I would have too! He's an exceptional drummer and a big part of what made La Sex so fucking good... even more so when you realize how young he was (just out of high school). Amazing performance and amazing stage performance by Rob. I don't understand some of the critics about the way he sounds live. It's true that on many live performances of WZ years that we can find online, he's constantly out of breath, and attending to things that have been said, his behaviour wasn't profesional during those years, but let's look at him here and the way he moves. Even the greatest singers would have breath problems moving like that, and if we add his asthma problem... His presence here shows an amazing energy and his vocals are correct during many moments of the show

a rather eccentric, dark, quiet friend of mine called one day the summer of la sexorcisto tour. "We gotta go see this band, White Zombie, named after an old Bela Lugosi movie." just the fact that this wallflower dude went out of his way to get me to go to this caught my interest. i go to his house and he plays the video for Thunderkiss '65 and I'm floored. To me at the time they seemed to be the best of both worlds. Like Chili Peppers (Blood,Sugar,Sex,Magic had MAYBE just come out-I knew Mother'sMilk), bad brains (happened to read at the time that Dr. Know was a huge influence on J), Ministry, and Slayer(angular riffs). What more could you want?!?! We roll up to Myrtle Beach(Purple Gator was the club) from Charleston, wait on his friend to bring us tickets he bought for us(a local and way before etix), and we walk in to see Sean Yseult's beautiful locks leaving the stage. FUUUUUUUCKKKK! They were the opener for CofC(Blind Tour) and Testament(whatever-during one of their "ballads", about 150 dudes were mock jerking it because of how lame it was after the CofC show- which is a story unto itself. I'll try to do a short version of events. Corrosion gets going, and the singer stops the show after seeing an overzealous security guy punching a fan right in front. (Needle flys off record) he calls out the guy and the club and security in general. After what was probably 5 minutes but seemed an hour, singer comes out and asks crowd if they want asshole bouncers or none at all. crowd erupts with, "fuck security" chant. A few minutes later CofC comes back out and FULL BLOWN CHAOS ensues!! one of the craziest and most fun times of my life. I came to see White Zombie. Left wanting to buy the new CofC album. I've managed hundreds of mosh pits, but it was RAINING stage divers that evening. Nothing quite like running around in a counterclockwise whirlpool of brothers you've never met, while a knee, hip, skull, or whatever was landing on your head every few seconds, all the while laughing your ass off. shoes and shirts were flying everywhere. insanity for awhile then Testament. Kinda hard to follow a show like what CofC had just done. Testament obviously were "off" that night. When they did "Into the Pit", most of the crowd was like, "really, did you not see what just happened here?!" then the mock jerking and heckles about being pussies squashed any chances of a great show. poor Testament, how were they to know Myrtle Beach wasn't just mullets and neon? I mean, even as a progressive South Kackalackian, "don't front bitches, cause we'll fuck you up just for looking North." I tried to like Testament after that, but uhhhh, no. Blind was a great album, but La Sexorcisto seemed to have been written just for me and my tastes. Heavy, groovy, sexy, twisted, psychedelic, dark, out there, songs that defied meaning, fucking art!! still a fave album. and an unforgettable night And honestly that's just the beginning of the insanity........

Rob is one of the luckiest "singers" out there. He got some of the grooviest musicians to play music with, because we all know ain't nobody there to watch a man who can barely sing live perform. Even his original solo stuff is all written by other musicians, he just does the lyrics and use studio magic on his voice. He has done good though, for a man who sings maybe 50% of his lyrics live.
