As I entered my working life, I learned early on that no matter what your passion is in life, there will always be next level exceptionalism. This is the best description I can offer about Jim White. @@spyder_man Unlikely to become a classic anytime soon. Too many were made.
@sununtaschnittker64697 ай бұрын
@@Dave-un7fh "too many were made". Undeniable. But I've heard that said MANY MANY TIMES since I bought a 1957 Porsche Speedster in 1972 at age 18 for all the money I owned - $2500. I watched 356's go from cars nobody wanted rust buckets to over $100k. Just yesterday (it seems from my perspective at suddenly age 70) the early to mid 1980's Porsche 911's I was buying and selling as a hobby in the mid to late 2000's were everywhere and cheap here in USA, $10k to $15k for REALLY good examples. Then around 2008 the Euro was over 1.7 to the dollar (it's now just 1.08) and the cars were over 25 years old and the import tax to get them into Europe dropped hugely. THOUSANDS went to Europe from USA, a great sucking sound, some SIX to a container! Now what does a nice 50k miles 1980 to 1987 Porsche 911 go for in USA? $50k to $80k? Well maintained regularly driven Boxster's, with attractive or unusual color combinations will bring top dollar FOREVER. Get them while they are cheap, this is the time, actually a little late.

As an owner of a 2002 Boxster s manual transmission, I can tell you it IS logical to put this kind of love and effort into that car. People hate on them cuz they’re cheap. Mine was $17k as it’s a nice example, but relatively cheap and down on power. BUT, it’s more fun to drive it than my 600hp awd Audi. Completely different experience but that’s why I love it. If you want a manual transmission, visceral driving experience where it’s just you and machine in harmony, amazing handling, a convertible, and more fun than anything else in the price range, then I recommend buying one. I’d say don’t get auto, and don’t get the base. The s is much more powerful and manual transmission makes it for me in a world of dual clutches and paddle shifters

Great video! As a former owner of two 986 Boxsters, it warms my heart. The company makes cars that drive better and better, but I don't know when or if they will ever make anything to match this original in looks. Not many truly appreciated it; many of the subtle curves that made it what it was were straightened or flattened and most everyone just said "better"! For example, both front and rear hoods/bonnets had an lovely "s" curve that was lost with the 987. Seeing this video makes me want to check in with the people I sold them to and see if they are still around.

A neat trick for cleaning dirty keys... just chuck them in the washing machine with some towels and other stuff... even the once with controls on them will do just fine and they end up cleaner than you can get them by hand. The water damage or corrosion fears you might have are really not a thing there is two low power to cause trouble electrically and thanks to the spin drying you end up with no water remaining in the key so no long term worries either. Found that out by accident when my keys fell out of my pants pocket when taking them out of the machine. I expected some long term issues as but now a few years later it still works just fine. I tried it with other keys as well (just to see if I had just gotten lucky or something) and so far I have yet to break or damage one, they all still work fine even years later.
