This was my favorite line up of Whitesnake. I know they had enormous success with other versions, but this band was more a Blues Rock Band than the Hair Pop Band it turned into. Nothing wrong with those versions but I loved this version of Whitesnake.

Me pasa lo mismo con Foghat, Pat travers, Frank Marino, Robin trower, Blue Oyster Cult y un largo etc. Bandas genuinas, honestas y subestimadas. I knew the Whitesnake UK albums before Coverdale made his US breakthrough. I was 8 years old and had an older brother. We were a European heritage family and I don’t know how I came across the band… I seem to remember the albums were available at A&B Sound on an import basis here in Vancouver Canada. I think that’s how I got them. That was before mass immigration and the rap music takeover. Now 1/2 the population doesn’t even speak English. How times have changed. No one would even know this music.

I have forgotten how good Whitesnake was. This incarnation is fantastic, and on par with Rainbow of the same vintage (see the 1980 Donington show). I last saw them in Sydney supporting The Scorpions a few years ago. They were not good - Coverdale had lost his voice and gained a lot of plastic surgery, whereas The Scorps were fantastic.
