It's so great to watch you undertake projects with such calm and positivity. You rarely bitch or complain, you just get it done. BTW, I watched from my new boat. You really inspired me, and now I'm watching pros do some projects beyond me, (but learning and filming), and watching sailing videos in the evening. Thanks Nike. Well done again.

Congrats on the new boat!!! Oh well, sometimes I do swear at some things ;) Especially if stuff does not move and I need a lot of force...then some cursing does slip out every once in a while. It helps to vent from time to time ;). But most of the work has been really interesting or...if boring, then kinda meditaional. It's what you make from it, right? Good luck with the work on your boat! Ahoy, Nike & Karl

Hi +David Bond, great to hear that you have had such good experience with him. He did a real great job with my order and the swages, too! And it was real interesting discussing all the different options with him. Ahoy, Nike & Karl

Jeez just spent most of the night getting up to date on your vids, a little addictive. I must get out more! Worth it though. I know about boats and thought you'd bought a right lemon at the start of the series, but it has all come together and you and we have learned such a lot. It is inspiring to see that you and others get off their asses and live life so fully. I think I might have to untie the lines now. Thanks and all the best.

Nike, just gotta say - you're videos are the bomb. They've gotten progressively better and better all the way from the beginning. Your journey has been a very interesting one to follow along with, and it's been nice to have the little bite-sized shorter videos to watch more frequently along the way rather than waiting a month for 1 big, monster, video. Anyways, looks like you're having a lot of fun out there and we're looking forward to watching more of the adventure.

Oh man, I'm so constantly impressed by your ability to do pretty much ANYTHING that comes up with Karl! I'd love to buy a boat and do a crossing of the Atlantic/Pacific, but I'd be so hopelessly lost with all of the repairs!

Keep up the great work... certainly learning so much about being a Sailor... ever though about writing a book? I think you have a great way to narrate and perhaps getting it captured for a book, may inspire other people as well... not just for a great read, but for learning about true adventure and can do attitude... perhaps it could fund more parts too for Karl :) God Speed...

Great to here Karl is getting new rigging, sounds like a great man is helping you out their! you have landed on your feet with that project & I am very happy for you, Ps , Better off freediving with a spear gun so you go to the fish & not the fish going to you, you should try a throw net, they are great for around mangrove swamps & river edges. or a fine one for shrimps, they will pay for them self with in a few weeks, :)

You should always keep a fishing net on board, that way you can just put the beer in the net and deliver it without shaking. You have come such a long way, you always find a way to take care of things.

Are you able to sail while waiting for your rigging or do you have to motor everywhere you go? Love your videos, thanks for sharing.
@WhiteSpotPirates9 жыл бұрын
No, I can sail. But At that time I was in the Rio Dulce...so not thaaaat much opportunity to sail. i did sail on the Lago Golfete and Lago Izabal, though, you will see some of that in the upcoming videos. But that day, there was no good sailing wind on the Lago Golfete, hence the motoring... Ahoy, Nike & Karl

Qustion..? why don't you give any price/cost information on repairs, fees or anything you spent, why..?
@WhiteSpotPirates9 жыл бұрын
What prices would you be interested in? There is no particular reason, I just talk about whatever comes to my mind really...and when people ask, I provide the desired information. On my website, you can find information on how much I spent for Karl and how much I spent on the first big refit in the FAQ section cause it was a question that often came up. This documentary is not so much to say this is how you do things and what things costs, more to show what this life feels like. But as I said, whenever being asked, I am happy to probide information... And in my opinion, I have been through so many repairs, it might get a bit boring if I go on about what costs how much all the time ;). I have sometimes dropped a number here and there but as I said, if someone is interested in something in particular, I am happy to answer... Ahoy, Nike & Karl

Hey +Rick Chollett, there is no specifi significance to it, except that I really like it...and it does not fit my right ring finger, that's why it sits on the left one ;). I bought it ten years ago in Ecuador and have worn it A LOT and it is still in one piece (touch wood), pretty amazing. I like it cause it is so simple and natural. Ahoy, Nike & Karl

WhiteSpotPirates Do you have any idea where you will be in Feb/March of 2017? I'm hoping to be free and would love to crew for you. And I'd even have funds to bring along and contribute.
@WhiteSpotPirates8 жыл бұрын
hm, I have an idea but from the past I know that those ideas and plans often turn out different than planned. But if for once things should go as they are planned, then Karl would be in the Pacific by then and it would still be Cyclone season, so not such a good time to visit....;) Ahoy, Nike & Karl
