Great way to enhance your stand locations! Add 1 mock scrape per stand location and cut the rest down that take bucks away from the line of movement that you are hunting
@whitewood20004 жыл бұрын
@@whitetailhabitatsolutions9751 I have a nice mock scrape set up for a tree stand I just hung, but I also have a natural scrape directly behind my stand so this concept applies to me perfectly when it comes to line of movement. Thank you!

Thank you so much for all your intelligence and expertise on the videos gives me a ton of new information. As being a new hunter I am creating good habits instead of listening to these older hunters. I have heard you talk about old legends and I started using their ways and am quickly finding that most of the information received from them is useful but not accurate

Hi David I really appreciate you being a new hunter...and I appreciate the feedback too! It's crazy, hunting (and fishing a bit) are about the only activities where everyone is an expert. It becomes hard to sift thru all of the "good advice" ☺️ Hope this stuff really helps you out this season 👍

Weather or not I shoot a deer this year i am constantly learning new things from your videos to apply to the years to come and be very successful in the future. Like after watch this scrape video I realized I have placed my stand incorrectly and need to change it lol. So thank you so very much!!!! If you ever want a tag along or wanna come back to your home state to visit i would love to walk the woods and pick your mind hahahahaha

I have added your hanging limb style scrape this season at a primary stand next to a food plot. I have got rid all other low hanging limbs surrounding except one at a pinch point on the other end of the field. I added plot screen several years ago and my buck number doubled. Have added diversity pockets, switch grass because of your videos. Great info as always!

I got sucked into creating a ton of mock scrapes by a guy in lower MI about ten years ago. After doing that I noticed the intensity of use on any one of the old giant scrapes or the new ones I created diminished greatly. A couple years later I took the majority of mine down and over the years since after finding you Jeff, have stayed with maintaining a few properly placed scrapes and licks. It changed almost everything for me. This mornings video is a perfect explanation of that system, thanks again and always. I hope MN is good to you and the family. Ksf

Definately looking forward to,joining the online tutorials and classes. The ability to download and watch the classes on devices while in the field and travelling would be the slam dunk bonus to this. WiFi/signal at the farm is not good and to be able to go afield and watch/listen while in a particular spot would be advantageous. Please consider that.

Hi Bradley if you have the equipment you can till right now and spray weeds when they emerge in about 3-4 weeks. You can then follow the frost seeding steps... kzbin.info/www/bejne/oX3Yi4WqgbKnnrc Hope that it all helps! You can also spray if weeds are not too high and frost seed still...without tilling

Morning Jeff,any way to make my mock scrape more attractive than the significant number of natural scrapes on the neighbors property?
@whitetailhabitatsolutions97514 жыл бұрын
Hi Tex! Definitely the hanging vine scrapes placed in the middle of a trail or flat spot are by far the best over natural scrapes. You can maintain them forever and keep them right in front of a treestand. Natural scrapes are typically just hit by bucks...the mock scrapes that I use are hit by all deer

Do you tie your vine on a tree,or is it best for a hanging branch,which do you perfer,great video and good luck this season
@blzn044 жыл бұрын
Ok so i have a question on when its ok to do this. I ask this because every year i hunt kansas for a week. We drive up, scout, hang stands, kill, come home. No pre scouting. We normally hunt mid-late October during pre-rut. The field edges always have at least 7 or 8 scrapes along the edges. Basically every overhanging limb at the proper scrape height. Would cutting down all but one of these in the middle of season be too invasive? Thanks

No bc chances are they are hitting them after dark

Here’s the deal, if you are going to get rid of a scrape location you would have to bring in a backhoe and dig all the dirt out to get rid of the scent
@whitetailhabitatsolutions97514 жыл бұрын
The scent in the scrape means nothing...in fact deer only per into it largely during the rut. They will use the kicking branch 365/7 if don't properly with the mock scrape techniques I teach. The dirt m and nothin, at all...all in the licking branch. No licking branch...no scrape. Check out the 30 scrape videos in my mock scrape playlist. You will find no other collection of this caliber online...lots to learn and I hope that it helps! kzbin.info/aero/PLmV8Ilexgmhee-6E06udW874E3ZoYWRfz
