@@diannehill2112absolutely my heart breaks for what could’ve been. All their struggles were so unnecessary especially when you look at it from 2024 lens. The kind of love they had for each other was something out of a story book , so intense. They were okay until the fame and all the scrutiny, in the end after over 20 years Robyn had to leave to save herself and that began Whitney’s ultimate demise. I grieve for them, my heart physically breaks for them almost as if I’m watching the most heart wrenching movie. I only hope they find one another in another life.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, Do you think Whitney Houston's religious background may have also contributed to her not being able to be her fully authentic self? The reason I'm saying this is because being LGBTQ+ and religious myself I understand the history of how the bible was used and is somewhat still used as a weapon against us. In addition, Whitney was surrounded by mostly religious folks. From her family, the church, and the Winans. I still don't understand her love for Kim Burrell and we are well aware of her history with LGBTQ+ folks.

@ Yes her religious background made her afraid for her well being so coming out was not an option for her, her family would not have accepted it and would have probably disowned her. Whitney had a heart of gold she loved people no matter who they loved. She did not want to be labeled she wanted to be herself, just Whitney. She is a role model without wanting to be, she spread love and joy through her music. The 80s were notorious for gay conversion and violence it is understandable why she chose to protect herself. No comment about Ms Burrell.
