Aaliyah passed away at the prime of her career, right when she was about to transition to pop and mainstream music and gain international superstardom. I believe Aaliyah also passed away right when she was about to be a queen of pop music, because her song, “Try Again” was the first song in history to hit number one, on the hot 100 solely based on airplay. Multiple singers wanted to work with Aaliyah prior to her passing. She was also set to star in multiple movies and would have become a huge movie star as well, and also was chosen to be in the movie Sparkle, along with Whitney Houston. I definitely believe Aaliyah would be a queen of pop today along with being the princess or r&b, and I do believe she would of collaborated with legendary singers such as Whitney Houston.

People just accept the compliment Whitney gave and move on. I grew up on Whitney. She was the first singer I remember listening to from maybe 3 years old and up. She was everything to me. Aaliyah came on the scene in the 90s and I loved her too. Every dance move I was on it, every song, etc. But let's be honest people Whitney is the voice. No one can touch her and this is coming from a true Aaliyah fan who mourned Aaliyah for years. I love them both but if I absolutely had to it's hands down Whitney Houston. Aaliyah was special in her own right. She was relatable like Whitney but for people a bit younger like myself. She showed that you could be smart, have class, be sweet, down to earth and a little street at the same time while keeping her clothes on. You could just tell she had a beautiful huge spirit. Whitney was the same actually just a little older with more experience so they actually had a lot in common which I think is y I was drawn to both. I lean a little more towards Whitney because of her faith in Jesus. Despite what people say she loved the Lord and anyone who does research knows she was murdered. Aaliyah was too to be honest. I love them both. Miss you Aaliyah and Whitney.

I disagree. Whitney was a troubled soul with a drug addiction. She wasn't murdered. She had childhood trauma that she never dealth with (she was reportedly molested as a child by her aunt) and drugs were her way of numbing the pain. It was an accidental overdose and was so unfortunate.
