Yaaas Whitney 😭👏👏👏 Even though her vocals had declined at this point, she still sounded 10,000 times better than most singers could ever hope to. Her belts were still resonant, her lows may have been even better with age (1:52)! and her vibrato was as gorgeous as ever. We lost this amazing star too early...

Her voice took a hit in her later years, but, she's not remembered for that.. She is remembered.... * For being one of the greatest VOICES of all time... * For being THE VOICE that was entered into the Guiness Book for winning more awards than anyone else on the planet.... * For being THE VOICE that moved a nation with her performance of.. The Star Spangled Banner... * She is remembered for being THE VOICE !!! And,, no one can take that away from her....

her technique was GREAT cos she managed to use her voice in all different phases but her vocal and respiratory system were very very damaged :( i heard from a voice expert who was taking care of her that if she stopped smoking and following the treatment, in a short matter of time she would get 95% of her voice back :( too bad she died before it! she was really recovering

You know what it is?..... in Whitneys earlier days.....she aimed to sing in perfect NOTES.... perfect VOCALS....perfect PITCH....perfect RENAISSANCE... and that she did.. BUT in the latter days late 90s to 2012 she became more creative and developed... truly the voice. She developed so many vocal skills she never did in her early days. RUNS.... MELISMAS... TECHNIQUES... ARRANGEMENTS... rich developed controlled supported POWER... and so much MORE. Her rasp became the most beautiful rasp and so did her head notes! If there is just one person Truly deserving for " THE GREATEST SINGER OF ALL TIMES" it is WHITNEY ELIZABETH HOUSTON. Rest on my sister.... rest on a true rare gem inside and out!

Mariah ten years after prime Vs Whitney ten years after prime? whose voice was more overworked? I didn't study music but I would say Whitney still sounds great here.
@SFFL-gv4vk
@SFFL-gv4vk 7 жыл бұрын
I don't study music, but I'm pretty sure most would agree the answer is Whitney's voice was in much better shape after a decade than Mariah's. Whitney was never a victim of vocal abuse though, it was drugs that messed up her voice. Mariah, on the other hand, was practically living either in studios or stages with microphones glued to her hand. She had twice as many albums as Whitney after a decade, with tours in between.
@deshaunx776
@deshaunx776 7 жыл бұрын
SFFL 1996 You are correct minus 1 thing. The only "drug" that messed up her voice was cigarettes, just like they messed up her mother's voice and Dionne Warwick's voice. The other drugs messed up her health. Mariah's "vocal abuse" was also due to the fact that she sang with a unique, but unsustainable technique. Going from that throaty, breathy sound, to full out belting, and using all 5 octaves without proper placement or breath support is like shifting gears without a clutch. Her voice was doomed from the start. It sounded beautiful though. Whitney had better technique, so she held it together until she got emphysema & heart disease.

DeshaunX her heart disease was so mild was so mild that doctors wouldn't check it out for 20 years or more. yet- the autopsy and all the people say she died from the heart disease. that's impossible her whole death was a. cover up and her with the cocaine and other drugs would not cause her to have a heart attack and fall into the tub as they said. it was shown on the report she was still breathing for a few minutes after her face hit the water yet they hide that fact. a witness heard a loud bump from a level below yet they hide that as well. bobbi kristina had the exact same thing happen to her. i'm a medical professional and this is murder.

Kenz Yeah "someone" murdered her in some way.In my opinion also Michael Jackson,Prince and George Micheal were "murdered","they" said it was drugs or it was a suicide(Or in the case of MJ the fault fell on his doctor)but i don't believe them.Someone wanted them dead for some reasons we don't know completely.MJ surely because he wanted to reveal some thing about Illuminati and in 2001 called Mottola(The president of Sony Music)a "Devil".Whitney it's not very clear,George Micheal too,and Prince maybe because he knew too much "things"

Someone must have taken it upon themselves to dub that part because the original video, from the BET Awards 2001, is totally live. As of now, the video is still available. Whitney rarely dubbed live vocals. When she did, she even more rarely tried to cover it up. It was always pretty obvious... and she typically sang something even better on top of the dubbed vocal.
