Whitney Houston is the most gorgeous woman I've ever laid my eyes on.

The part of this song that always gets to me is 2:05-2:11, “ We both know I’m not what you need”. The way she sings that part and the use of the instruments in the background really blend well together. Best part of the song besides the climax to me.

Then, the initial "And I ..." of the climax went through a post-production edition to make it longer (?

She did at first a live version for the movie but she came after that in studio for recording it. Obviously, she was still working on it and changed some part like the beginning of the chorus. And some other part, if you notice, it's close but not the same version at all. IMO even the tension and the energy are different. She changed the way of interpreted the song.
