@Bigdrip8404 жыл бұрын
It’s call back phrasing on the beginning when she came in. This is her most urban album this is the album she has the mariah duet on and heartbreak hotel on. This was the first song off the album. She’s singing her own backgrounds u hear mainly. She was me of the first singers to sing her own background vocals back in the 80s. My favorite song off this album is oh yes and also I bow out , And until you come back to me. Check out this album you will be very happy. This album came out on 98 after 8 years of doing movies. Whitney sang live and she smoked cigarettes and weed and during her career she did over 650 live shows and several world tours so she works her voice as she did not lipsync she gave you what she had even if she was hoarse. She didint have real vocal issues until a after 2004. I think Like she said on the Oprah interview being Whitney became too much. I think a lot of the vocal damage she had was self inflected she got tired of the demands that came with being the golden girl of the industry. Love this song tho!

Darkchild produced this, it’s funny because when Darkchild brought her song she said she’ll do it but she wasn’t “feeling it” and wasn’t “ready to record it yet” she told him this same thing like 5 days in a row so Rodney (Darkchild) Jerkins thought she didn’t like the record so he was about to leave & go back home, bcuz he flew out to the city she was in so that they could do the record and the day he was gonna go back home she called and said she was finally feeling the record and ready to sing it😂😂

YESSSSSS That's what I will always give Whitney in these later years (same album as Heart Break Hotel, 1998. Rodney Jerkins wrote & produced this, thus it sounds really similar to Say My Name & The Boy Is Mine), where her voice started to decline, her personality showed more, and her acting skills came in on these songs, that's what makes me live for her later songs. This is my favorite song from the album, and it's maybe my favorite song from the later albums.

People claimed that Whitney’s voice was destroyed by drugs. But that’s actually not true. It was the smoking that damaged her singing voice. There’s a video on KZbin that explains everything, and this came from a vocal coach.
@Bigdrip8404 жыл бұрын
I agree, her voice was never destroyed tho, her vocal coach even said that, it got real bad but her talent was so great that he got her 70 percent of her voice back while she was still smoking cigarettes. He said if he had more time he could have gotten her 90 percent back. Shit 70 percent was better then any one out low key!!! She always had that magic because she knew how to build a song vocally even if she was hoarse she made u feel it. Man she was really the last of the Titans! She was a blessing to us all that found her!!!!!

My dude…Let me start by saying thank you for restoring my faith in young people, and giving me hope for the future of this country. Can I get an amen from the choir? AMEN! Yes!!! To everything you just put out there about this artist, the music, the producers, the video, all of it! What I like about the way you do your reaction videos, is you make sure that all of your observations and comments are more than just opinions and how you’re feeling about what you’re listening to. Your comments are tangible, if that makes sense, and you approach things more from an analytical perspective, people would agree, makes it feel more credible. And you do all of that without sacrificing any of the flava viewers need to stay interested. So I’m a subscriber now and I look forward to watching other videos you post.
