Love how versatile Whitney Houston's music was. Her music evolved with the times of her life. You could tell this song was about what she had gone through in her relationship with her ex. At least that's what I took from it. It sounded edgier than the music that she sang in the past. Her past songs were upbeat and wholesome if you will. Before her tulmoturous marriage. I heard a past song that I think you'd like. It's a song called Little Bitty Pretty One by Thurston Harris. It was a hit for him back in 1957.

I've always had one premise one thing I live by... I dont do it to you you dont do it to me. I dont do you dirty you dont do me dirty I dont lie to you you dont lie to me and so on. When they cheat on you they stab you in the back when they betray you its a dagger in the heart. Your as much alone when the one you love and thought you knew and thought had your back you realize never did there's no more alone feeling then that. And when there's never anyone there no one to love you no one to who you can cry to no one to hold to where your whole body aches both hurt bad but when there was the illusion that you had someone and they leave you without there body ever leaving the room it makes you want to run as far and as fast as you can because the pain becomes unbearable. But yes your surly better off without someone who doesn't value you there not worth you and your worth more then to be treated like the trash that they actually are themselves. .
