At 42 yo, I found out I was pregnant during a time when my husband and I were having terrible financial difficulties...we’d filed for bankruptcy, were losing our house, and hubby had lost his job and was facing legal issues. I was anxious and overwhelmed and termination of my pregnancy was the only option I considered. UNTIL...my mother, who supported whatever decision I made, called me at work one day to check on me and played this song before she hung up. I remember when I first heard this song and saw the video. I was two months pregnant and thinking of terminated my baby. My life was so jacked up. I thought how can I bring a baby in this world and them in my situation, its innocent. I prayed all night after calling planned parenthood to schedule and appt. I was in torment because I didn't want to kill my baby, after praying and still undecided but leaning toward keeping my baby. I walked into my bedroom and this video came on. I had never seen it b4 but the words hooked my heart, nothing should matter not when love grows inside you. the choice is yrs, there's a miracle in store. Wow, it was as if God was speaking to me through Whitney. Just then it was as if I could feel my baby say momy dont kill me. It was one of the most powerful moments in my life. I cried like a baby for the rest to the video. Needless to say I kept my miracle. I never got to thank Ms. Houston, but for sure that song and her powerful and deep felt lyrics spoke directly to me. Thank you Whitney for helping me make one of the most wonderful decisions in my life . You are greatly missed by me.

In 1985-86 Whitney started her 2nd US tour (Miami I believe) and when I heard she was coming to Lake Placid, NY I told my friend Gina if we were ever going to talk to her, it would be here because of how small the town is and the Whitney sensation was just beginning. I was right because we got there around 10:00 in the morning of her concert and immediately found her tour buses at the Holiday Inn. We talked to Ricky Minor and backup singers and one of them said Whitney would be coming down to the restaurant. We waited in the single narrow hallway for a half hour or so alone. We were very nervous waiting and then like a dream Whitney, Robyn and a bodyguard came around the corner. She gave us a big smile (we had sweatshirts with her name on it) and we talked to her about how excited we were meeting her, about the concert and how much we loved her. I had given her roses the year before at the NY State fair when she did her opening song (How will I know) and she danced around on stage with the roses. It was unbelievable how beautiful she was (wearing a light brown jump suit). We had her all to ourselves for just under 10 minutes (she autographed my album) and we would see her at the concert. We were in the front row that night. Two things, it was the greatest thrill of my life and I saw her 8 times in concert in NY. She was and is still the greatest female voice of all time. Enjoy her for there will never be another.
