I feel like part of the reason these seasons are so bad is because we're not following anyone's career anymore. Like part of what made the earlier seasons so good and feel so real was when we would see Lauren and Whitney making career moves. These later seasons just feel like a bubble of he said she said with nothing happening outside of their little group.

I always had a hard time staying engaged after Lauren left because the friendships are obviously not real. Stacy was introduced as a bartender and now she's Kristens' bff. And it's very clear that Jayde is acting in the scenes with Brody. No hate or shade towards anyone on the show.

yes, Stacy was good at being Kristen's "friend" but the narrative didn't make sense. A fake encounter between them or an explanation that now Stacy was dating one of the boys now was much needed. Somehow that was better than Lo/Kristen who grew up together but never had complementing personalities/storylines.
