Here's a hot take: Kamek MADE bowser, not is biologically related to him. The entire family history is all made up, and meant to make Bowser's personality. Kamek and potentially the magikoopas in general have done this in order to secure the highest class in Bowser's army, or because Kamek wants to be the king of the koopas, but knows that only someone as intimidating like Bowser could be king. Dry Bowser serves as the "blueprints" to create Bowser copies, and when one dies, the next is made from the bones of Dry bowser, and the bones of the last one become the new Dry bowser. We have the potion/spell in the new super mario bros that turns Dry bowser into Bowser, which seems to have kamek's involvement likely in it. The other proof for me has to do with the "normal" koopa counterpart to Dry bowser, dry bones. There is only one instance in my Mario playtime where I can remember permanently killing a dry bones, and it is in Mario party DS. You run around the boss stage to dodge dry bone's attacks, then you press the correct sequence of buttons representing MAGICAL SYMBOLS. These symbols are the same shapes and colors as the blasts that come out of Kamek's wand both in that game and in other games. When you press all the buttons, a spell is cast, and it drains the life from the dry bones. After doing it three times, the dry bones eyes disappear, it cries out and never rebuilds again. Clearly there's something about Kamek's magic that makes him able to give life and take it away permanently from Dry bones, and likely so then Dry bowser. Bowser could just be his tool.

Has it ever crossed anyone’s mind that Bowser is just lonely? He had magic and adopted and been adopted into the Koopa family, that he created. And all of them, like Bowser, look to Peach, a human, as his bride. His fashion is utmost human for a monster and his posture is awkwardly a monster. Either he was once a human himself or he was originally a turtle turned gigantic and bipedal by someone else. I think it is the ladder. I also theorize that Kamek played the part this entire time and no one knew about until his first appearance. Like Yoshi’s Story speaks about the Mario Bros. and Bowser, but in Yoshi’s perspective and not Kamek.

I want this to become more confirmed and become officialy Cannon it would make for a great way to further retcon the Mario cannon in a way that makes since. With Bowser needing to cover up the secrets about his family. Honestly that would even make for a great plot point for a story for a game, where Maybe Bowser could go around the map trying to erase Historical monuments and historical evidence. and even erecting fake evidence in there place. Give him some villiansous criminals actions to commit other than the repeated kidnapping attympts and conquering the world. give him more and alternates forms of commiting crimes. Now that would be a cool game plot! Mario has to go and prevent King Koopa from destroying History and stealing historical artifacts. Give Bowser some actual crimes to commit!~ and then there could be a moment where Mario goes and explores into Bowser's castle and finds some secret rooms that contain some secret Histories of Bowser's Kingdom that have beeen cealed away and locked up.

About Bowser Jr's mother, I've seen a theory that Bowser is from a species that can reproduce on its own, that's how he had Jr, and since he didn't want to tell him that he was technically his mother, he lied and said that Peach was, this explains why Bowser never talks directly about her, because he is technically her.

Not as crazy as the theory that, somewhen, Bowser crossed the secret portal between Mario's universe and Sonic's universe, the same portal that lead to Mario & Sonic Olimpics Games, met Vanilla The Rabbit, gave up Peach to date her for a while, had a quickie with her, from which Bowser Jr. and Cream The Rabbit were born, then Bowser and Vanilla broke up, each one keeping the most similar child, he started pursuing Peach again and she engaged with Vector The Crocodile, another big mouthed reptile, and this is the explanation for whu Bowser Jr. is apparently motherless and Cream is apparently fatherless.

Interestingly, with very few exceptions, whenever Dry Bowser is simply Bowser having fallen into lava in a Super Mario game, he uses the same voice clips as Bowser but, whenever he's a separate character in a sports or kart game, he has different voice clips from Bowser. Again, there are a select few exceptions, but Nintendo is almost never this consistent with voice actors in the Mario franchise. This anomaly leads me to think he may, indeed, be a separate character and relative.

And you're right, it _doesn't_ need to be that deep. In fact many of these extra relatives exist only in non-canon filler fluff material, because Nintendo EAD are petty man-children in their ivory tower who don't like to share lore with western distributors, much less individual fans. We already have Bowser and Bowser Jr.. Just have Bowser's Brother (Morton Sr.) as someone who existed at one point, while the SMB3 Koopalings are Bowser's nephews that he raised in his absence. Don't know what to do about the Mario Party Koopa Kids, or why they existed in the first place, especially since Nintendo never explains anything and the average casuals are confused as it is, thinking that these are more of Bowser's birth children. At least the Koopalings would still be family with a "dad" in their life, rather than just making them generic subordinates for hire (doesn't Bowser have enough of those?).

Neil is an interesting character that is forgot. He is a little kid with great at golf, like supernaturally good at it according to kid from Mario golf. Neil's personality is shown in Mario golf advance tour and expanded a little in Mario golf toadstool tour (which he canonically proticipated in), despite being a little kid into golf he goes through some insane shit, he can be lazy (as shown in advance tour) but when it comes to golf he gets extremely excited and playful (as shown in toadstool tour victory and loosing quotes), he is just a surprisingly interesting. Ella also shares personality traits with daisy and looks a lot like her, she might be daisy's neice or something, Neil and Ella seem to be ten. Although you probably won't see any of this.

For a long time, it was actually my headcanon that Bowser's birth name was "Morton Koopa Sr." and that the Koopalings were his biological children to one mother (Possibly Clawdia), and Bowser Jr. to another. But I never really though of Bowser having a brother or a sister, it was never really something I thought about.

While playing Mario Kart before I even knew about Koopalings I thought the paintings on N64's Bowser's Castle show Bowser's family (who all looked identical because they're the same species) and I had a theory that Bowser enslaved Mario's family and forced them to build his castle from special cup. Yeah, it's been confirmed that Bowser's an only child. Yet the Koopalings are probably cousins or distant relatives at least. However, if Super Princess gets a sequel we will see the introduction of his wife as the main villainess. I would not be surprised if Bowser thought his wife was dead and ergo developed a crush/obsession with Peach.

That theory is wrong though. Baby Bowser is Bowser as a toddler. Bowser Jr himself is the toddler son of Bowser. Honestly Nintendo should do the fans a favor and just introduce Bowser's wife. The best place to do that is in a sequel to Super Princess Peach. Yet her appearance should be alluded to. Heck, even have Bowser mention her in passing before realizing that she was revived from the dead.
