This is making me miss my ENTJ teacher. Everyone was afraid of her and I didn't understand why. She was always generous and thoughtful. She even gave us printed copies of her notes and told us that there is no need to write. I remember that time when I lost my textbook. She literally brought new one for me...

It's insane. When he speaks about how we constantly show others our work and what we've accomplished for confirmation from others that we have worth, I almost started crying. That has been one of my biggest struggles for most of my life especially considering my father has always told me I won't be successful, even though I work day in and day out to become something big. When I was watching this, I pulled a fat ENTJ move and tried sending videos to my friends to help THEM understand why I do certain things, which I realized is just me looking for approval. When they skipped my videos and didn't seem to care it just made it even worse. And that's the problem, most people just don't really care about a lot of things, it's not us as ENTJs being bad or boring, it's them not caring. Something I need to remember in the future.

Can relate to the Si trickster. I have over 7000 photos on my phone accumulated over 3-4 years that I don’t delete Bc deleting them would mean losing the memories connected with them. Even if it’s just a photo of a random fire hydrant...that one photo captures the emotions I was experiencing at that moment as well as where I was in life (career, city, worries, hopes, etc) When clearing photos to gain more phone storage, I immediately delete the photos that don’t evoke a flashback or emotion and really struggle with cleaning up the rest. It becomes a decision of “is this memory important enough for me that I’ll appreciate remembering it in the future?”

ENTJ woman here.. The part where you talked about entjs going out of their ways to help others is spot on. And how people don’t understand or think it’s insincere. We just have a pushy approach to the problems, and we are straightforward about them. So as we go through these experiences, we start to detach more and focus on ourselves more, which eventually makes us look greedy and selfish.

Awesome Vid. The way I would describe ENTJ (i am one) is that we are benevolent, autocratic leaders. First of all: We need to be the one in charge, because if we can't control the situation then we can'T guarantee an optimal outcome. Second: We are benevolent towards you. We don't try to take advantage of you, we want the best for you. (if we consider you to be on our team) Third: We need all the necessary Information presented to us in a thought out, efficient form. That's why we can seem impatient. If you are wasting our time by not giving us the important stuff in a timely fashion, then the positive outcome is in danger. Fourth: Despite being benevolent towards you we strongly believe that we are better at managing the situation than you are. So after you have given us the info, made your suggestions, you will be given orders and you need to follow these orders to the letter. We want you to excel at this because then we don't have to micromanage you. Nothing makes us more furious than when 'subordinates' are too incompetent (or too full of themselves/or too distrustful towards us) to follow our orders and then we need step in and micromanage them so the whole project doesn't go downhill, which leads to them believing that we don't value them (which we don't, because they are incompetent) and then the whole relationship becomes antagonistic and we can't have that, especially if you then go ahead and label us as control freaks when it is, in fact, all your fault for making us having to control you, because you can't be trusted with simple tasks. Fifth: That's why it is important to us that people/teammates/subordinates think highly of us. We need them to trust us and be loyal to us, so that they perform their duties without question, the battle is won, the tasks accomplished and we all get the outcome we hope for. If they don't respect us and don't trust us and won't be loyal to us then the whole team is doomed.
@CSJoseph6 жыл бұрын
You mean altruistic? Benevolent is attached to ENFJs. But fair enough.
@johannesdolch6 жыл бұрын
Well, what i mean is: I want the best for the people that are on my team, even if i want to have control/power over them. I don't want power over them to gain money/whatever at their expense. I don't know if altruistic fits because I also want the best possible outcome for myself. But english is not my first language, so maybe i am interpreting that wrong. BTW: Do you have some link to this "Simple Goal System" ?

As an ENTJ artist, this video almost brought me to tears at the last part. I used to draw a lot and nothing can describe the amount of passion I felt when making a piece. I have transitioned into music now because Its gotten harder for me to sit still and focus recently, but every now and then I will feel the pangs of my artistic past and see glimpses of works I know I lack the patience to create. It hurts but hopefully I can ease those pains by channeling that potential into songs. Overall I loved this video and if anyone wants to get a glimpse into the ENTJ mind, I have some videos on my channel from when I used to draw, feel free to check them out. Thanks for this. As an ENTJ I often struggle with whether it's worth winning at a particular "thing" not because of the cost or sacrifice but, how it may change me as a person and whether I will ever be able to get back to a rational view point. The ruthlessness of competition does put a bad taste in my mouth, I enjoy being a good sport, but the need for so many to play dirty really brings out the worst in my character. I'm thankful for this explanation, It's a good release to have have it described for you. This is absurdly accurate especially with the writing down things, i'm a note factory. Also, I'm working on accepting the loyal people in my life they are here, and I need to nurture those relationships, and be thankful. In my life I've always projected my self to lead or been projected by others and, while I know I'm capable; I truly appreciate loyalty in a way words cannot describe. @@optimus8740 Hi. Yeah, I agree that thinking-feeling are balanced. Actually, in 16 personalities, there were only 3 item questions that I answered emotionally/humane at that time. I took the same test the next day & answered as I am truthfully & came out as an INTJ, the real me. I can shift from entj, intj or infj depending on my mood & is very much aware of the deviations. I remember which part of the test items I answered differently since the questions were highly situational.

I'm a writer, and I like put my character through personality analysis to see if they have a coherent personality throughout the whole story, and also to help me figure out how they'd react in any given situation or interact with other characters. The main character of the book I'm writing now is an ENTJ young woman. I think she's a not so mature version of the ENTJ. Many of her internal conflicts rise from her inability or the impossibility of using some of her main cognitive functions to her best capacity. She grew up very confident in her mental and physical abilities, but at the same time her childhood was very frustrating from the social point of view, where her impulse to lead and control was constantly suppressed, or she had to limit herself to use these abilities in ultimately irrelevant situations. So she kept everybody at arms length either by necessity or spite, and she doesn't take on any stable or meaningful leadership role... She just tags along the other MCs (the real heroes and leaders in the story) and pushes people around very forcefully and unexpectedly when she sees an opportunity to further her personal goals. Oh, yeah, she's closest to an anti-hero, although she's perceived as a possible-villain-in-the-making by others. The way I see her manifest her demon side is more on the lines of "Oh, you're scared of me in my most effective and driven self? You don't think it's a good thing? Fine, I'll keep being driven as f***, but don't expect me to be helpful to YOU anymore". Rinse, repeat. And I pair her with an ISFJ. They end up being good for each other at first, but at the same time both of them are so jaded by the world that their negative characteristics amplify each other's. I hope my portrait of these personalities are consistent and logical... It would be fun for MBTI fans to analyze them and type them correctly (assuming I've typed them correctly too... I'm not trying to make them fit a mold, just seeing what mold fits them better).

I’ve done the MB personality inex quiz on multiple times on atleast 3 different sites. So I know I’m 100% ENTJ. I don’t deal well with *stagnation.* I’m 23 y/o, hate my town, hate the fact that I’m not working in the field I long to work in, hate that I can’t afford a Dog. I’m so close to getting a drivers license. If I give up now I know It’s going to lead me down a really dark path. *Stagnation* (especially to us ENTJs with mental baggage) is a vicious drain of hope and purpose that only us ENTJs are disconcerted by. It can be lonely.

I’m an “older” ENTJ woman, working on my Fi and using mbti and Jungian theory for that reason. Love your advice throughout - for how to treat us. Some of this is accurate, some only when I was younger. Your Ti betrays you, though. Watch out - your experiences, and what you think about the different personality types overshadows sometimes (e.g. in this one when you were talking about Ti, ironically). [Alexis Kingsley is brilliant, y’all - if you want to use mbti for personal development]. Business tip: get more consistent with your branding, including self branding. In some videos, you call yourself “Chase”, in another video I saw you called yourself C. S., and yet another, you said you were. C.S. Joseph and you’re the host, but then you talked about other hosts. I watched a video of yours the other day (maybe about ESTP (my husband) and you quoted Jesus (John 15:13) and said it was “an expression”. You seem like a skeptic, but it’s ok to explore faith, Chase. You are permitted, but would appreciate if you gave credit to the “great thinker” - credit where credit’s due. Ne may make you disassociate the origin. You can fact check and make a note to help beforehand. Handwritten notes (esp in mindmap format) helps commit to memory (I’m a professor). God bless and good success!

A lot easier said than done to just “leave an ENTJ alone” because of their Fe demon. I did this to TWO ENTJ friends because although I love them, they always talk over you or completely ignore you when it’s your turn to speak during a conversation. Obviously that’s an Fi users biggest pet peeve. But once you stop talking to them they make it about what’s wrong with them with Fi inferior and question your loyalty with Se child, and confront you about it and now everybodies crying

I'm an ENTJ, and my wife is a disorganized, chaotic mess. I am super hard on her because I give her beautiful things and she treats them like crap. I have always taken her clutter and disregard for my gifts as disloyalty, and over the last year, I've been pushing her away. I keep wishing she's tell me I'm adequate and appreciated. It would mean the world to me. She says I have a personality that slams her at every turn, but I am a very emotionally charged and extremely loyal person. I hope she will watch this video and understand it in terms of who I am and what I need.

Food for thought, what if instead of hoping she’ll watch the video and try and understand you maybe take a minute & try to understand her. Maybe her not caring for the things you give her isn’t her being disloyal or disrespectful to you but more of a reflection of how HER mind is organized and what she values. If you are pushing her away and you give her things (valuable or not) what are you really telling her?

Chandra Niansari if they are surounded by a lot of feelers, it's usually places where they can let loose and enpower their Fi-Te (at least for mom) like library. god knows how much she went there also she likes feeding her Se with experiences... camping, swiming, shopping, wedding, you name it and she'll call the gang and we'll do it but now you gotta know, there's no specefic place a type goes to. there may happen to be a pattern but it won't always be the case because of cultural diffrences and all that but by gathering enough info you can follow the pattern and have more chance meeting that type than going around streets typing everyone

I'm ENTJ and I wanna say Thank You for acknowledging that I have feelings. Even though I don't display them in public. I don't want people to have an edge over me or to find me less stable. I am materialistic but these possessions are my trophies of success and proof my actions and hard work are material. But it does get me labeled as superficial. Side note though I'm not so concerned with being a 'good person' and I don't really care what others think about my decisions I just want their respect and admiration. ENTJs are really full of themselves to the point we are our own cheerleaders. My 1 caveat is that people mistake 'Extroverted' to mean that I feel energized in social gatherings regardless the context. Which isn't true for me. I need a reason to socialize am I networking, building relationships, strengthening bonds, everything is objective based. But I also get really wore out from these interactions and want time to be by myself to reflect and recharge.

In my typing adventures I believe I've identified four ENTJ women so far. It seems they underplay their ego, probably from social conditioning, like they hide their true selves. They're more dressy and fun than INTJs, Se child perhaps? Similarly I noticed that ESFP men seem to tone down the playfulness and act more manly-ish. Could be social conditioning or hormones, probably a bit of both. The greatest insights I've gleaned from all this typology study have been from typing lots and lots of people and seeing the patterns for myself. The value is that I can instantly know someone's temperament and basically supercharge my Ne to maximize my relationships. Still so many questions... Probably always will be

Well, watching this video and listening to you made me feel so many things.. At times I felt like I had to make immediate changes, and I did, then I felt compelled to remind myself of many, many, too many hard emotions I underwent as an ENTJ child .. and the way it's influenced many of my relations to some people, such as my own father.. Then you went to the most surprising part about our subsconscious as artists and yes, I felt like I was about to cry. I've been writing poems since I was a child and, well, people did love them, a lot. At the same time, I used to draw and was very talented. I don't have the time to keep drawing now so I don't even though I still have the ability ..and I'm always creating new ways to express the artist living in me.. Thank you for using such words to speak of us, of me. May the Universe keep teaching you so you can teach life to us again.

THANK YOU for this. As an ENTJ, it is quite rare to come across descriptions that really get us and go beyond the stereotypes/caricatures. I was particularly pleased to hear your analysis of the artist subconscious. I work in the art world, as a critic and art curator, with contemporary artists. Not exactly the stereotypical occupation for my type, but I guess it is in a lot of ways about being able to manage projects, often with crazy timelines. What is most interesting and challenging about it is dealing with very different people such as the logistics and marketing teams but also the creatives who need to know they are respected and understood. I am also a pianist and a composer, so again, I find the part about the subconscious very interesting. One more comment: I do think that when we ENTJs have a plan, our willpower and energy go 100% into making it come to life and that we then can be loud and intense. However, the rest of the time, we CAN be pretty reserved (and some of us would never go hitting on guys when we walk into a bar). We also go through phases of introversion. Well ok those often end with a new crazy but somehow feasible idea that we need to make happen. But still, I've rarely seen analysis that underline that there are reserved ENTJ out there.

The reason you feel introverted is because you are an introvert in those cases. The reason is that ENTJs are extraverted by planning. If you don't think you will get something valuable out of your interaction with someone (may it be anything), they don't feel like it's worth being extraverted in that moment. They don't like to be extraverted without purpose.

I found this video as I only today (45 years old, female) tested as ENTJ-A and was looking with, increasing fascination, into all the published facts I could find to help me finally get to grips with me and why others react the way they do to me. I am now laying here in bed at 1am with the rest of my family asleep with tears in my eyes feeling choked but mightily relieved and grateful that somebody truly understands me, finally. I’ve always thought of myself as a “Marmite” person (I’m very polarising, people either love me or hate me) and I don’t remember a day when I didn’t consider myself weird, dysfunctional and unable to fit into expected societal norms believing I’m inherently bad and often to blame for others faults or a week where I wasn’t accused derisively of being cold, arrogant, stubborn, intimidating, overbearing, intense, evil or to blame for other people’s mistakes and emotional breakdowns (normally by those I love and care about the most, fortunately my current partner adores me and doesn’t believe I’m out to ruthlessly control him mind, body and soul as others do.) I’m going to share this video with my adult sons in the hopes that they can finally understand me a little better as years of trying to explain myself and how I think to them has just led them to believe I’m trying to manipulate them and think of me as an uncaring robot. Words cannot express how grateful I am to you for helping me understand me xx
