B&M stands for 'bargains and more', and yes, B&M had purchased heron foods too. I personally love the shop, as the prices are really good, plus you can get a lot of stuff under one roof from everyday essentials to food and drink to DIY stuff to pet supplies. The only problem, is that B&M is a bad shop for going into when you only need a few bits and pieces, and then you come out with a lot more due to the great deals.

The B&M chain was originally called Billington and Mayman after founders Malcolm Billington and Brian Mayman and their first store opened in Cleveleys in 1978. But it was soon renamed B&M - which stands for Bargain Madness ❤❤

My late father used to be scout leader, he said when they went on camps he had this fun meal for first night called ‘ one pot’ every scout brought a tin of food but no label on - any food , the only rule was no pet food! And it all went in one pan over campfire .. he said it used to be hillarious! Xxx

Bob and Katie, Always a pleasure. Vindaloo history lesson. Chilies were few and far between in southern asia until after the dicovery of the Americas. Birds spread them about. So Vindaloo which is basically mustard, Black Pepper and Vinegar, was one of the oldest recipes on the sub continent. And it is fiery as Heck-House. So Given you guys like a touch of piquancy but not too much, and that you have such a well stocked spice rack, there isn't much need to buy pre-mixed vindaloo sauce. I like to play around with it. Sometimes i use leftover pickle juice for the vinegar, then the black pepper and mustard to taste. Tumeric is a good addition but you dont need much else. Except the main veg , I like lots of onion and garlic and then pick a star veg. One of my favorite dips-spread is made with peas. I blend it up with cooked onion-garlic-shallot(take your pick), herbs (decide what country you want) and a flavorful finishing oil (your tastiest one). It tastes a bit like crisps (US Potato Chips) and combines wonderfully with any bread or cracker or crisps. I save potato water (even from cans) to make all my breads (even the flat ones) Potato water is a natural preservative which helps bread products last longer besides adding flavour and sometimes salt. Rosecoco beans originated in Colombia and go by many names, Cranberry, Borlotti, Roman, Romano, Saluggia, Gadhra. After they were exported from colombia they came to Europe and southern asia and evolved into the other varieties. They are often white with red spots when raw. Love watching you guys cook. I definately do the chuck everything in the pot method. In French cooking complex meals are all cooked seperately (cans do that for you) Bob stop torturing the shells! You both plate so beautifully. Made the food look very appetizing and inviting. A note on the Pickled Cabbage....I would have added something to make it my own. a bit of fresh herb not just as decoration but to slighly alter the dish. I pinch of spice, something. perhaps some chopped dried fruit (date, cranberry even the humble raisin) Hope you enjoy this Epic comment hehehe Jacques Mexico

Hi Free family from California!! Love your videos and creativity with the meals. I'm not vegan, but much looks really delicious to me. I have dietary issues with Crohn's disease. I can't have beef, pork, dairy,seeds,nuts etc. I do ground turkey and chicken breast for protein. I'd love recipes for vegan ways to get high protein.

Katie - to transform your ingredients a bit I think I would have sliced the potatoes and fried them to crisp them up and I might have roasted the chick peas. Then put it all in the sauce. Bob - I definitely would have pan roasted the corn with some seasoning, like Mexican street corn before adding to the tacos

Both show what you can do with canned food. Personally I'm not keen on Chinese curry but there were other sauces. Katy tinned spinach works really well in a curry but avoid the tinned sprouts. Utterly utterly vile. Fresh sprouts all the way

I have not got clean drinking water... a pipe broke in my street and yellow water comes out...
