Ok so I totally forgot about the House Of Protection EP (I listened to this all as singles so never really clicked that it was an EP), as The Plot In You EPs (same reason), and somehow also forgot that While She Sleeps released an album this year 😅 though I think it may not have cracked my top 20 anyway.

I appreciate your "subjective" rationale, and love your admission that favorites changes daily at times. I had a similar experience as your 156/Silence last year with Invent Animate's 'Heavener.' Everyone was hyped on it but it sounded mostly samesy to me. But I kept coming back to it and by mid Fall it was tied for favorite with TMBTE and dominated my Spotify Wrapped. In some ways those albums are the best. I hope you continue to give the BMTH album more plays because I think it's going to age really well--so so much of their back catalogue.

So, there must be a reason I have never heard of Bilmuri. I gave it a listen and couldn't stomach it. Just gave it a second listen and couldn't ger it off spotify quick enough out of fear it will affect my algorithm. EP: Northlane - Mirrors Edge absolute disgusting perfection. 1. Imminence: The Black This Black is like a beautifully manicured landscape. Fucking delicate, such detail, and so deliberate in all the subtleties throughout this album. One could argue that there is not one metalcore band that will ever sound like Imminence. They are on some different shit utilizing that voice and violin of Eddie's.

I'm with you on Linkin Park. It's a solid album and better than I hoped but I'd describe it as the same as the "soft reboots" hollywood loves to do recently. It's good but safe and unremarkable, nothing that really hooks you because it doesn't try to push the edge. But I'm sure it was not an easy album to make after all the recent history so I'm hopeful for their next releases.

@@mundanemorselsmundanemorse7028 tool is cringe lyrics layered in really artsy sound. Nickel back is cringe on-the-nose lyrics layered with super stereotypical on-the-nose sound. If anything, you could say tool is more cringe than nickelback because there it’s covered in the pretense of the sound. Nickelback embraces the cringe. and I like tool more than nickelback. I’m really just trying to say intention matters. Falling in reverse is great because it’s all in good fun, that band knows they make cringe songs about being vampires.
