At 4:45 the unidentified expert says "They (Russia and North Korea) do have these common interests in attacking the West ... that believes in the rules-based international order ..." Now that's a crock! Was the US respecting the "rules-based international order" when it destroyed Libya, or when it invaded Iraq, or ... ? Without even trying, one can think of a dozen instances of the US throwing its military weight around, without regard for international law, or decency. Other countries are held to a rule by the CBC, but not the United States.

Though I agree in general, I hope the expert interviewed here (Keir Giles) was also against the invasion of Iraq and the horrible aftermath of that illegal invasion and occupation. He talked about international law and how we are against aggressions, which is true as only a handful of countries supported the invasion of Iraq, albeit that everyone was very polite and silent during the entire horror. The dangerous consequences of that vicious war in Iraq continue as we speak. I am against the invasion of Ukraine also, and opposed to the aristocratic totalitarian regime of North Korea. nb: Keir Giles public writings on the Internet are very much focused on Russia, so I do not know, but I am guessing he is coherent and recognizes how the invasion of Iraq was illegal, in contradiction to the UN Charter and our values, and how countless crimes were committed during that invasion and occupation. This huge contradiction, including the US history of utterly murdering or helping to murder some democratic regimes (! That we are all supposed to forget ever happened), or just support dictators directly, does not add moral pressure unto Russia do act differently.
