Julian 'The Bus' Savea in his 5yr run with 46 in 54 tests was incredible; Reiko Ioane with 36 in 73 if he'd stayed as a Winger instead of moving to #13 would no doubt be top AB try-scorer by now; Will Jordan with 33 in 33 is on his way to the top of that list!

@mikedangerdoes2 ай бұрын
@@WKSchwenke If he hadn't scored so many I would agree with you. And I get what you are saying, but there's something to be said for being in position, doing your job, and finishing, even if you are just the last pair of hands. Howlett had the awareness to be in position when he needed to be, and the pace and skill to make sure he got it done.
@WKSchwenke2 ай бұрын
@mikedangerdoes your points prove my comment. Yes, he had to be in position to recieve a kick from someone that potential for a try. It's the talent inside of him that seen the opportunities. He definitely couldn't break a tackle or beat another player one on one, but his inside players could, and that's what created his opportunities
@mikedangerdoes2 ай бұрын
@@WKSchwenke Yea that's fair. I just think there's only so many times you can be "lucky" before skill or something else has to come into play. And if he wasn't bringing something to the table, why didn't they replace him, and how did he get so many tries?

02:09 Lomu handing off Underwood was especially sweet. Underwood, a young man with a rightfully high opinion of his own abilities, spent the week before the game telling the new media how he was going to show Lomu how to be a winger. My thought, when I heard that, was he was going to find that difficult when lying flat on his face, watching Lomu running away from him. Which is exactly what happened. More than once... Edit: Jeff Wilson got better with every season and retired at the peak of his game. Thanks for the memories, Goldie. it was great.
