@@thomasarchibold6678 usually on SQ's that noise is from the belt/pulley assembly. Very cheap fix to keep it lasting awhile.

I go on the motto, if it ain’t broke, don’t replace it. We have a 2004 Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator with the ice maker in the freezer part. We replaced the icemaker five years ago. The icemaker quit making ice six months ago so we bought a countertop icemaker. This week the ice maker decided to make ice again as the weather cooled around here. What the heck. We are not replacing this refrigerator until it breaks

You should check the power usage on the old frig. It could be using 3 times as much as a new one. Payback could be quick given power rates

@@b4804514yes more kilowatts are used in older models, however the newer models are far less superior to longevity, most newer fridge units are junk. We have a relative who still has a functioning avocado green Montgomery Wards fridge and it still works perfect.

We're building a new house and needed a washer, dryer, and refrigerator. I was able to get the samsung WD combo and a bespoke refrigerator from Costco for $2600. Costco also automatically gives you a 2 year warranty and they have a 3 month return policy.

Hi Ben, I wound up purchasing the slightly larger Amana top loader and matching dryer from Lowes a month ago. Out the door, including tax, delivery and installation, it ran me $1153. Early days yet, but very happy so far. Too bad the sales people had a crappy attitude.

I just purchased the Bosch 800 series dishwasher (SHP78CF5N) during a Lowe's Black Friday Sale for $898.00. Lowes included free delivery in addition to the installation rebate (Gift Card) for the full installation price minus the install kit. All I had to add was the 5-year extended warranty ($159), Haul Away Fee ($50) and tax. It was the best deal I could find on the Bosch 800 series.

The Amana washer looks very similar to my new Speed Queen TC2 series...mechanical timer/switch, no electronics...only 1000 dollars cheaper...I am sure the springs and motor are a bit stronger in the SQ but after going through 3 circuit boards on my Maytag, I was tired of all the electronics and 200 bucks a board...I got a used board on ebay for 65 and gave the washer to a friend for free

About 10 years ago bought Maytag everything. Dishwasher, microwave, and wash machine all went out within several years. Never again with that Maytag brand. I'd give Amana a try next time. My high end, 98% efficient Amana furnace has been outstanding. My Samsung washing machine has been going strong for about 8 years and same with the Bosch dishwasher (expensive, but worth it). Still have the Maytag refrigerator (has no water lines, nor will I ever get that option). The Maytag refrigerator still going strong after 10 years, but just had to replacement the freezer fan motor because it was getting real noisy (bearings were worn out, only a $50 part, easy for a homeowner to do).

We might have gotten that Amana but we bought an LG already.. WT7405CW for $525 at best buy, supposedly $1049 normal price. And a LG LRFXC2606S refrigerator. Apparently doesn't use the linear inverter which was nice. Although now I'm wondering if we should swap it.. We have 2 months to decide.

I wouldn't trust the reviews - I've fixed and sold hundreds of the Amanas and they're literally the WTW4816 with one or two less knobs.

LG doesn't use the infamous linear compressor anymore and hasn't for about 2 years now. So should be safe on any of them just make sure its not old stock with linear printed on front. The Amana washer I wouldn't because it is whirlpool

I'm in Canada and you have much better deals. Haven't checked them all but the same refrigerators deals are cold at best here (pun intended). Suspect it's the same for the rest. Eg. Samsung Bespoke washer combo is 2500 $CAN -150$. That's 6% off... No thanks.

I miss my 1980 kelvinator with the small and large freezer door on the left and the fridge part on the right fixed the thermostat once for 25 bucks and the tray wrap coil and heater defroster once each job was about ten minutes it had fake wood grain on the handle area and was a bone colour should have kept it as a garage fridge since then Ive been through three stainless fridges

Come on, you're recommending Samsung garbage because it's cheap? These are not throw-away items! You still have to pay for installation and haul-away. I will never, ever buy anything Samsung ever again. Their appliances are junk and phones are over-priced. The Amana washer looks to be a great deal - thanks for that tip. My current LG washer is a replacement for the deadly Samsung garbage that was recalled. They wouldn't do anything about matching the dryer, so want to replace both and send this garbage to the dump where it belongs. Just my experience and opinion, of course.

In this, and many other videos, you keeping using "simplistic" when you clearly mean "simple." They're not interchangeable. Simple Something that is straightforward or free of complications. For example, a simple procedure is easy to understand and perform. Simplistic Something that is simple to the point of being misleading or oversimplified. I ordinarily wouldn't be this picky, but there's such a wide gap in positive vs negative connotation between those two words. I will echo everyone else's praise of your expertise and presentation. I have gotten 15 years of trouble-free use out of the Whirlpool appliance suite that came with my new construction purchase in 2009. The laundry pair has nothing but mechanical controls. The side-by-side is essentially the same as they've been engineered and built since the 60s. The gas stove has minimal pressure pad inputs. The microwave is just like every other since Mom got her first Litton in 1981, but with a turntable. It's all so very...simple. I dread the day when any one of them become irreparable, and I'm faced with choosing the least crappy among crap. Oh, almost forgot. My 2010 Bosch dishwasher has never skipped a beat. I'm a total fanboy.
