One thing you didn't mention, the bonus chip damage from heat dashing is applied in full even against an opponent in rage, giving that mechanic a much needed neutral application to compete with heat smash.

I'm used to playing 2D games where chip tends to always just be a thing. So I barely notice it in T8, haha. That being said, this video solidifies my theory that chip in T8 is specifically designed to punish passive defense, and encourage people to make actually choices!

Theres alot of Tekken 6 feature thats being called "new mechanic" like Chip Damage exist in 6 but its optional, tornado on wall is bound on wall from 6 and the mini combo from low parry (Low parry but you won't get combo extender unlike 7) is from 6

Wasn't chip damage already available even before T7? There was an optional setting called "Guard Damage" in T6 and was mostly off.
