I went to High School in the early to mid 2000's right down the street @ Vaughan Road Academy. We used to jog up to Eg west to hit up Mainsha's and Randy's during lunch time good times 😂 Had a friend, Tito (RIP), who showed me that you could go around back and knock on the back door to get free patties so my heart goes out to Randy's for their UNKNOWN and UNADVERTISED chartity to the local community. I will DEF go check out Patty Time as per your review and recommendations

Long time Torontonian and those patties are proper but now there’s a shop in Ottawa (Run 2 Patty) that slays the others. Well filled with massively delicious oxtail, ackee and salt fish, chicken goat, beef. Beautiful.

Randy’s was always great, but there’s also a lot of other fantastic patties in the city. Patty Time is right up there in the top conversations, and I always liked Michidean’s patties a lot too. Tastee’s are also pretty good, ditto Allwyn’s. A lot of the shops in Little Jamaica too.

I am from Scarborough original. But now I live in Etobicoke. Randy is on some wild tings. So I found a gem for patties in Etobicoke and it is Pattie World Bakery. It is certified, people need to go and check that place out. Location 86 Guided Ct, Etobicoke, ON M9V 4K6.

I had my 1st patty In 1979. It was a real Jamaican bakery. Hand made. In those days patty’s were not every where like today. I went through the beef patty war of the 80’s. Google this. “Beef patty war “. Yah dun no. Great story. But fah me it’s kingston12, patty express , fahmee, and patty king. You gotta watch with patty king. Only certain people know how to cook them properly. Like Sheppard west station and golden patty in Kensington market.

Randy is family with the Patty Time owners. They both taste good and the only good patties outside Jamaica. Even in Jamaica they don’t taste the same as when I was a kid. Team Patty Time because they stay open 😂. Long before they closed down Randy’s would just be randomly closed. I need you to follow the store hours please and thanks. We are Jamaicans but we are Canada and if it says open at certain times, I need it to be open at those times. I can’t drive all the way, making sure I don’t park near the crackheads. Hop out in the freezing cold only to see it closed. Randy’s plays to much so team Patty Time 😂

Listen, I'm originally from Jamaica and I've eaten so many Jamaican patties back home. By the way, the best patty in Jamaica is Devon's House curry goat patties. You guys need to try one when you're there. Being in Canada, I've had a few patties, and none have compared to what I'm used to. I've tried 'Patty Time,' and it wasn't that great. As a person who eats patties almost every day from various highly well-known patty companies in Jamaica, such as Tastee, Mothers, Juicy Patties, and Devon House, I can say that Patty Time wasn't that great. I didn't enjoy it at all, but that's just me and my taste buds because obviously a lot of people love their patties. However, they're not for me at all. I've never tried Randy's, but you can be sure I'll definitely try it.

As I have mentioned in my previous post it is not my personal favorite, but obviously others love it, I don't personally understand why, and thats ok,I don't have to, everyone has their own taste buds. also congrats by the way on your success in your culinary education even though it still doesn't make you an expert in jamaican cuisines, because everyone knows in Jamaica, that not because you are jamaican, doesn't mean that you can cook, no matter if you have a degree from a well known jamaican collage, in fact, most Jamaicans will tell you, that the best dishes are made by those 'without' a certification, diploma or degree, it is the way in which how they cook, the unconventional methods they use to prepare meals the knowledge that had passed down from generations to generations, example; the best pot of rice and peas is not made on a conventional stove top, and it isn't made with powered coconut milk either, they crack open the coconut an break it into peices and using a grater to grater it, the choises of seasonings and the amount used, timing is also a factor, (in short) they make it all from scratch using all natural ingredients. How you season your meats is extremely essential if you want to please Jamaicans who knows what authentic, good quality cooking tastes like, and they will tell you if it's bad or good, adding any ingredients too much or too little can turn a jamaican off, we love our food with all kinds of bold rich flavors, and texture have to be on point. Now, if the patty gained popularity in the country from which it originated to the point where it has gone global, isn't it fair to say that the place from which everyone from across the world came, tried it and fell in love with it, incliuding the locals of course, wouldn't it be fair to say that those patties are the standard of a proper patty from which every other patties are trying to replicate?, and if so wouldn't my previous comment be valid?

First time I went to the Scarborough Patty Time in 2015 the summer I was headed to Grade 10 & when I was going to that private credit school at the top of that plaza there, I bun up my lip like crazy it was bad🔥🔥😭😭🤦🏽‍♂️ I believe too many people were complaining about the patties burning them to the point they had to put that caution sign in the store. I also used to get my haircut @ Conrad’s sometimes.
