Yes! I was played FE7 for the first time at school a few days ago! ( My data got deleted since I closed the tab on my computer but I'm okay.) I really enjoyed the game so far. I'll use this tier list to help me when I get an actual save file. Edit: Thanks to Nintendo Switch Online, I got a save file!

Love the video. Couple placements I don’t agree with but it’s not a huge deal. But if you care to know; Nino- opportunity cost of using her vs just beating the chapters without babying her makes her low tier for me. Raven - high tier unit, ridiculous combat stats at base and when promoted can equip a hand axe and decimate armies Canas - mid/high tier unit, the guy can nearly insta promote upon getting him and has just good enough combat stats to carry him through the game with just flux alone. And Luna is really strong for taking out bosses. Cheesing the final boss with him is hilarious

I've loved using most units, Rebecca & Lowen are fun to use together, Dorcas is considerably better than Bartre, and Canas is a very good mage, just a shame there are not more dark tomes.

Hector lower than Hawkeye!? Hawkeye wishes he was Hector. His dream is to be Hector. Hawkeye has a motivational poster featuring Hector next to his gym because he IDOLIZES Hector. Dont believe me? Check out their average stats on Serernes Forest, or just Hector's general growths compared to everyone. Dont worry Hawkeye, you're a good unit, but you just arent Hector. Hector doubles most enemies in the game, has the highest or close to highest HP, Str, def in the game and will probably cap is skill (which is also high). He moves better than other armored units. His decent res is the closest thing he has to a weakness but dont tell that to the mage he just 1 hit KOed. Quite simply, Hector should be God tier. He is the best enemy phase unit in the game bar none. You dont worry about anyone killing Hector, you worry about Hector killing too many and hogging the exp. Even the best mages you dont put on the frontline because the enemy still has a chance to murder them (even if its generally sub 10%).

@@locloudanerpg lol its ok, in some sense the tier list does makes sense, but it all comes down to how you play the game. If you are trying for absolute lowest turn counts/speed runs, sure. Hectors issue is that his con is really high meaning mounted units cant carry his big butt. Horses have limits. But for players who want to just want to play casually or even just beat hard mode and participate in every optional piece of content, Hector is a walking statistical god.

I'll say canas is a very reliable mage. He starts at level 8 which means he is 2 levels away from an early promotion (though i keep him a shaman for a few more levels because personal hitches). His promotion gives him a ton of speed, enough to double most enemies. His promotion also gives him staff access. It is at E rank but if you promote him early he can start gaining staff ranks quite quickly. As the game goes his growths will scale him just right even if you promote him at the earlier levels. He can do some serious enemy phase with 1-2 range flux and nosferatu to restore his health. He also turns into a reliable staffer. So i say he's pretty good.

For me he undervalued Canas too. With nosferatu and as +10lvl druid he can just drain tank whole maps of enemies. Rng blessed erk and pent can do that with luck, but canas is impossible to take down by basic hard mode enemies while nosferatu equipped. Also being only dark mage user beside Athos makes him use resources that would not otherwise get used. For me Erk is always just a free fire / thunder tome for Prins/Pent. :D Respect the monocle..

It feels like cheating when I use a high level Canas with Luna. It’s just that strong. In most of my playthroughs he maxed magic, speed, and resistance. He also gets really high defense and hp for his class. Imo best character, he just feels like cheating especially against high resistance bosses.

@@locloudanerpgprobably Raven below Guy and Nino. Raven probably has the best physical combat in the entire game, and his existence basically invalidates Guy. At level 5, the average Guy will have 1 less strength and speed, and 3 less con. The only relevant growth Guy has over Raven is speed, which really doesn’t matter since both of them are going to be doubling everything anyways. What really makes Raven so much better though is his promotion, since it gives him access to 1-2 range with axes, which lets him destroy everything he fights on enemy phase. That’s something guy will never be able to do, no matter what his stats are. As for Nino, yeah she should just be down in shit tier, she’s easily the worst unit in the game. At the very least Bartre and Dorcas can deal chip damage to enemies in the earlygame, whereas if you’re using Nino then you’re actively holding back units like Raven or Pent just so that the frail little magical girl can get a kill on an enemy you had to bring down to like 3 hp. And what do you get after all that hassle? A slightly better Erk, who isn’t even a top tier unit himself.

My Marcus is so broken I have to keep him away from enemies. On a single enemy phase, he took basically no damage and then one shot 7 consecutive enemies that kept marching straight to their deaths.

It's interesting to see how people's plays can vary. I'm on Ch. 26 (Yes, THAT chapter) on the switch port. For whatever reason, my Canas is cracked. His growth just got love in aaalll the right stats. He can double like mad, can eat huge hits, and he's like carrying me some maps. It's nuts. That's why I like seeing videos like this. It's just neat how certain stats on level ups can really make or break a guy. 😅

That’s because Canas is cracked. On most, if not all of my runs he would be able to one round almost every enemy and Nosferatu allowed him to heal if anything managed to hit him, which wasn’t very often.

I remember reading about Fire Emblem in Nintendo Power and thinking, I really want it when it comes to the States. Rebecca and Lowen are my all time favorite power couple. She is an unhittable crit machine and he is a tank. I love to drop them on a busy map and let them clean house, or keep them on the back end of Night of Farewells and Cog of Destiny and let them stonewall the flyers.

In one playthrough I substituted Lucius with Serra just to try things out. Serra came out with every stat maxed except defense. Lucius is definitely better because he is much easier to train and has better growths (I just got RNG blessed with Serra) but boy was it fun deleting everything with her.

The problem with getting Harken is you pretty much have to plan for the dude. You'd have to intentionally mostly use Dorcas, Bartre, and Guy, otherwise you'll have to play slow af opening at most 1 door for 9 turns 25 chapters into the game.... I'll almost always take Karel lol

Actually, this is backwards: Using the Hero Crest users GETS you the Jerme version (which is the one with all the doors) Using the GUIDING RING users (minus Canas) gets you the Kenneth version (which has no doors, and is also seize, not rout) It's a lot simpler to plan for Harken in Jerme version because all you have to do is... not open the topmost room. You can even open Jerme's own room and kill him early to be in position, but honestly half the time the snow means you aren't even there yet Conversely, on Kenneth version you have to specifically not kill a Purge Bishop for... 8 turns to make sure Harken shows up, which is risky because said Purge Bishop has a real chance of killing your squishier support units like Ninian. Alternatively, there's a Sage/General with a Speedwing you can ignore but, uh... they charge you and also it's a Speedwing.

@@sanae99.9.9 No I've played that map before and I know for a fact it's specifically a Purge Bishop, a Sage/General, and a Druid/Sniper (depending on mode) that you have to keep track of. Kill one of those 3 or less to get Harken, otherwise you get Karel. That's it.

I'm playing Elli Normal route right now.... Hawkeye is amazing! Has resistance and I cap at chapter 24 I believe in the arena. I manipulated his stats growth every time he would level up and oh god! Raven is amazing with Priscilla and Lucius support but Pris has horrible stats. Even Serra is MUCH MUCH more stronger than her. Oswin is so OP that I am amazed that I never used him... sadly Marcus dont go in my party anymore... his stats dont provide much.... Hector with Elli is good not amazing and that is before the promotion... I tried to lv Guy but he got so fragile and the arena tries he got murdered so easily that I gave up on him.... I am trying to lv Lyn with Florina but they are getting the most rough time this run.... and Florina never got many resistance which is sad as heck.... Erk funily enough I paired with Serra and is doing good... but his stats are a mess.... I'm trying to hold to Nino since I love her and she needs care. Legault got much better than Mathew but I'm still gonna use Jaffar to grow Nino up.

I cannot believe anyone would put dart in mid tier, average stats would put him at near capping hp speed and strength by 20/20, and berserker has weirdly high caps so his uncapped stats are higher than other characters capped stats. His defense is not significantly worst than other high and top tier units on your list, and his speed means he will dodge a lot of attacks. Also zerk is the only ground unit that can enter peak and water, there are several maps where you can plant only dart safely due to the amount of water and bows in the area.

His bases at level 8 is higher than many characters average, at that level its in no way low, and he fills a role no one else does.

Marcus shouldn't be fed XP at the beginning, but he is somewhat viable to take down threatening units (Killing weapon units for example) or Archers that might pose a threat to fliers. Plus Marcus hands down is the best rescue / carry unit early on, 8 move is just astounding. I don't love Marcus, but I wouldn't say he sucks if you look at him objectively and what he's capable of providing :)

I enjoyed watching this video, love fire emblem content especially FE7. But this tier list is a bit of hodgepodge. I feel it doesn’t cater to anyone newcomers, casuals or veterans. Asides from that, The placement of some characters I do have a bone to pick with. I’ll just mention where I think they should be & if anyone is curious, I don’t mind elaborating. Renault belongs in low tier Lyn should be in low tier behind Eliwood Canas should be mid tier with Erk and Lucius Raven should be closer to top tier, definitely above Guy Fiora belongs in Top tier Lowen belongs in top tier (even with Kent and Sain having lyn mode Lowen bases so good he’s not to far from wherever they left off) Nino belongs in shit tier Isadora should definitely be closer to Kent Priscilla should be in top tier Sain belongs in top tier along with the rest of the cavaliers and isadora the paladin.

My top 5 characters in this game strictly for battle are Kent - best cavalry character. Spd and skl almost always maxes. Pretty good strength and def. Low luck but honestly its not that important for him. Great hp and honestly hes op Lucius - magic tank and mag maxes out every single time. Low def and luck which sucks. For him low luck matters but just keep him outta harms way from physical units. Bros heals are op too oh and he hits mad hard with good spd too Hector - honestly axe units suck in this game EXCEPT for Hector. Dude really not even slow either. His constitution also is so damn great. Atk and def stat are godly. Love em. Bro never fails Nino - you get her late but seriously shes ridiculous if you make her gain every level. I did not expect her to be as powerful as she is. Give her 1 health item. She'll be your best magic user Heath - flying Kent. Dudes a monster. Best flying unit in the game. Special mentions Canus - only dark mage. Luna is the best magic in the game. Hes mandatory Jaffar - honestly his one hit kill activates more than Matthew and Legault. I always make him kill Darrin in the final battle. I love watching him one shot whoever Pent - hes the best anima mage until Nino. Bro is kinda flawless. No lie a couple play throughs he maxed def. Shit blew my mind Gilliam - this mf is slow Hector but tanks harder. He just might be the slowest character but maxed general Gilly is no joke outchea. Give em the boots item. He barely takes physical damage Raven - his defensive stats suck but that's it. Bro hits hard and is fast af. Hes better than Harken. Plus the hero class is great. I save all my defense raising items for him

while renault is not great by any means usually altest on HHM with reduced xp gain and without grinding out maps usually he will fine a way to you endgame squad. hes got A rank in staff so his stats simply dont matter. Canas is a really good unite id say B tier definalty the best unpromoted Mage simply promot at level 10 maby 11 or 12 and hell be very usefull. obviously the same is true for the other mages but they need levels while canas starts at level 8. and engame hes a second luna user while he´ll never be as good as athos he should to quit a number on lots of morph bosses. Raven is also a bit low on that list he does everythig guy does but better while guy need crits to kil raven doesnt. also there are only 2 viable options for the hero crest and hero beast out swordmaster in fe7. Handaxes are just way to good, obviously nino is horrendouse ,but you said you value engame really high so i guess its fine putting her pretty high. Isadora is a bit to high i dont think shes bad but shes average at best by the time you get her she will be your 3rd or even 4th best cave and usually you dont need a 3red paladin at that point in the game because this is the time in the game where ususally you fliers will have grown to a point where they can do the same as cavs and even more. and heath will be there within 1-2 chapters.

Why everyone says that cavaliers are the best class? , those bastards always die in my runs , and are useless paladin later with no gimmick. Raven was the god tier of my run , as well as rath the nomad. for magic users Erk helped me a lot with armors in the entire game , yea sure nino is 10 times better but she comes with an useless lvl . by far my favorite class are assassin , i got converted my 2 thiefs legault and mathew to assassin on hector hard mode . Pegasus knights always sucks on my runs , they just get 1 shoted by archers . and they come really weak with slim lance. to much effort you have to put on them.

Got some really hot takes here. Nino is way too high imo. In order to use her you need to start feeding her kills, because she's basically incapable of fighting anything on her own, even other mages. She's worse than almost every other magic user in the game. The pegasus utility is Florina>Fiora>Farina. Florina has the best availability of the 3, which is what matters most in their case. Fiora is a decent replacement, but Farina's late recruit and 10k gold cost easily sees her as the least good of the 3. Don't forget, Farina is also exclusive to Hector mode for some reason, so a good amount of players never even see her. Eliwood should be higher than Lyn also. Lyn is swordlocked until promotion and gains bows, meaning all she has is the 2 worst weapons in the game and almost no strength to use them with. Eliwood gains a mount and lances on promotion, which on it's own makes him a better unit. Eliwood also gets a way better prf weapon for the final chapter. Lyn's for some reason weighs more than a silver axe, meaning she can very possibly get doubled when holding it, which is bad for a unit that can't take more than 1 hit. It's not a very big difference, but I feel like Bartre should be higher than Dorcas, almost entirely due to the better speed growth. His base is worse, sure, but they both come in at the point where growth units are still competing just fine with the enemies. Athos is also way too high. His stats make him a good crutch if your units aren't very good, but having basically 0 availability makes it so the final chapter is the extent of his usefulness, and if your units are good enough you wouldn't even need him in the first place.

I mean seriously? Eliwood Low Tier as well as Canas, Dark Tomes to Heavy to use, Lousie in Low Tier because she is a Sniper? Isadora High Tier? This is such a confusing list. Canas high Speed makes the Tome weight irrelevant. Give him a Flux Tome and see him wreck house, also he is an aditional Healer. Eliwood is not good but he is perfectly medicore and not bad. Louise is literally ur sure fire answer to late game Luna Druides thanks to her Insane Luck. Isadora is literally "Meh" in all aspects falling short every so slightly when it counts. I dont know how much experiences u have in Blazing Blade, it sounded like u played it a lot as a child, but u seem to have a very confusing viw on whats important.

My list isn't entirely different, but if you have god tier, I'd almost always (for GBA FEs only) put riders and fliers in the god tier. These are my personal reasons why all mounted units are god tier: 1. Literally all the mounted units have great movement range, even unpromoted, and movement is king along with the speed stat. 2. All of them can rescue or carry any other unit to vital map choke points (which is far too often overlooked, guess people don't utilize this as much as they should). All of a sudden Oswin can become more viable, simply because you carry him to create a wall on a bridge tile or in a castle choke point, etc. 3. All of them have 2 range attacks! "Javaliers" are just sooooo good, yes if faced with axe enemies it could get a bit risky or even dangerous, but hopefully the bare minimum strategizing should help with that (plus Cavaliers do have swords for those occasions). Obviously don't let a flying unit try to javelin against archers, but DO let a Pegaus Knight javelin all the mages to death :D 4. In general, mounted units have quite decent stat growths. Sure the Pegasus Knights might be a bit weaker and more on the speedy side, but looking at the Cavaliers and Wyvern Knights, their stats are solid with good defense. Their speed won't be as high as Swordmasters or Thieves, but in general its sufficient enough to two hit most other units like the enemy Fighters or Mercenaries. Not to even mention squishy and slower units like Shamen or Archers.

You can still easily train all the earlygame units that actually matter while using Marcus liberally, and you can even throw in a meme or two like Rebecca or the fighters. He doesn’t “fall off hard” either, most fe7 enemies are weak enough that he’ll still be keeping up into the mid-lategame. The unpromoted cavs only catch up when they promote, and even then Marcus’ far superior weapon ranks mean that he can pretty much make up for that difference. And if you’re only looking at that, you need to intentionally ignore how much he DOMINATES the earlygame. It’s fine if you don’t like using him, but you can’t deny just how overcentralizing he is.

I feel like I am taking crazy pills every time I hear that the lords are mid, on life or death, I just send the three of them out, max them out and they're virtually unstoppable from there. Also I don't even use Marcus during the early post Lyn chapters to level up the other characters. By the time he starts getting more than 4 exp, Sain is almost as good but a level 14 Cav so he has so much more progress to make

You can tell when people didn’t spend hours leveling up people in arena based on how they rank people. Like I spent hour leveling up every character to level 20 before promoting them. And it’s very sad to see people rank characters so low that are amazing if you actually level them up to level 20 before promoting them. The pre promotes are always worse than any character that can promote and Marcus being ranked so high is crazy despite him being a oifey both Kent and again far outclass him. Rebecca and wil are amazing units. Movement is not everything in this game and I know people do these ironman challanges and speed runs etc but like this is just a really outdated manner for actually ranking people
