Naoto’s ability to destroy mobs so quickly makes her a god tier character for me. While it costs her a lot of SP to do so, she saves your own SP by saving you countless hours of grinding in the TV world.

ME TOO LMAO. Idk why people hate Teddie and Kanji so much. I use Teddie cause he can be the healer so Yukiko can focus on attack and he can buff/debuff too. About Kanji, his physical damage output is ridiculuous and his endurance is like a tank.

@@altriapr I think ppl pick yukiko bcuz of her high sp pool with access to the fan that boosts so by 50, so she can wait 2 turns and then salvation, then mind charge and agidyne or burning petals for huge damage. She can fully res a teamate which doesn’t happen unless you’re underleveled, plus I don’t think teddie gets salvation so he doesn’t pair well with kanji who has a huge amount of health

(And defense, since naoto has better resistances.) Meanwhile Teddie gets all the essential healing (me/diaharan, amrita, samaerecarm) while also having access to buffs, so he outclasses her in support.

3:10 Agni + yastra = fire + weapon Teddie has the -dyne level spells where has Chie doesnt, so Teddie's damage output is much higher for ice spells. Naoto is can easily solo dungeons after Ma-hama-on + hama-boost and Ma-mudo-on + Mudo boost. I was just single turning most battles at that point. I would put Rise in God tier though. The hollow forest is unbeatable without her.

Unfortunately naoto does even more damage with access to bufudyne and the protag will usually have Loki late game, and yukikos heals surpass teddies, and chie is good as the best physical in the game other than yoshitune, so teddie is only good for about 2 dungeons

@@joemoak9966 you underestimate teddie, he shines really well as pure support, he lacks salvation but it doesn't matter if he has full heals, amrita and buffs which as long as you play strategically can be very effective. Naoto oddly enough her ice set-up is unavilable to use in the dungeon best suited for it IE: Marie's everything else leans on physical attacks and Yukiko wins out in magic and just barely makes it to 3rd best damage dealer (unless there is a physical resistance then she is top) but that's with mind charge which really helps her. with naoto she only hits harder then teddie which isn't a big thing to boast about as teddie can be built as pure support and can offer so much to you in most situations

Tedie: he is the most versatile support, he has buffs for the partty, healing a bit of phisical damage, cure ailments, ok magic damage better ice spells than chie, thers so may ways to build him and be usefull. Youske: is preatty decent in magic damage and single target phisical ataks, really usefull against bosses for his dekaja hability but not really that remarkable. Chie: she is a mob cleanner she got grate aoe phisical ataks, lackluster magic damage and buffs until late game 3rd persona awakening, she has powercharge but i rarely use it its mainly for bosses and she is outdamaged by both kanji and yosuke. Kanji: is the best at single target phisical damage having both powercharge, and matarukaja he can outdamage both chie and yosuke, and buff the hole partty just like teddy, he has ok electric damage and debuffs to, allso you can make him a healer.... if you dont want to bring tedie or yukiko for some reason Naoto: she its just ridiculus... she can learn every single target elemental spell in the game + mahamon, mamudon with boost for both, she can instakill most enemies no problem. She allso has decent aoe phisical damage tetrakarn, makarakarn, and she is the only partty member beside the MC with acces to heavy allmighty damage not op enough? How about mind charge on top of that! She is by far the most offensibly flexible character in your team thers so many ways to build her, did I mention she has no weaknesses? Holly shit. She allmost feels like cheatting. Yukiko: if naoto is the most flexible in terms of damage, yukiko is easelly the most powerfull, she can outdamage every single partty member in the game, beside the MC. and she has some of the most usefull support spells to heal, revive and cure ailments, she allso has marakunda wich one of the best debuffs. She can allso learn mindcharge iff you really really want bossess to go boom! Her magic stat and SP pool are insane. She dosn't have habilities with phisical damage beside her fann and if an enemmy is fire resistent she is relegated to pure support but if any other member can cover that yukiko can do the rest easely my favorit partty member.

the issue with teddie is that you have to build your team around him to work. So if you want Teddie to be the healer have him keep his heal skills and kick out yukiko or if you want him to be a buffer put yukiko back in and take out another character who can give out group buffs. The issue is that he doesn't stand out, he is flexible with building but his builds can look inferior to another character who focuses on 1 clear role and do it better. Also to add that due to having so many useful skills he can burn his sp too quick if you aren't careful if given too much to do (like buffing, healing and attacking all at once) and in my experience even with the chakara ring it's not enough

Teddie doesn’t have a large enough SP pool for that, in addition most party members run mind charge endgame, so buffs are useless, and protag will usually have a persona with debilitate so no need for debuffs. At that point just run yukiko for better heals and severe fire damage with mind charge. It’s too bad bcuz the characters are not balanced at all

Mine: A - Chie / Teddie / Kanji B - Yosuke / Yukiko / Naoto Chie - she is quite good damage dealer. Her third-tier skill is the best out of all the party members. She also have Revolution which’s increase the chance of critical damage. Teddie - Many people hate Kuma but he’s reliable party member. He have enhanced ice skills compared to Chie. He also have support skills like Matarukaja, Marakukaja and Marukunda. I personally choose Rakukaja and Rakunda since Kanji had Tarukaja skill. He’s also make a really good healer beside Yukiko. Kanji - His physical damage is slightly better than Chie but only target single-enemy. He have okay elec skills but I remove Ma-Zio skills because he’s more of physical-oriented. What made him better is that support skills. Power Charge and Matarukaja is quite good too. Yosuke - He’s decent party member. He have Dia skill but it’s only reach until Diarama (I changed it to Diarahan using Save Tool) He also have Masukukaja skill however his third-tier skill made it even better by healing and giving buffs. Brave Blade is good though but he lack power/mind charge to made him the same level as A tier. Yukiko - she’s good healer with Salvation (Dia+Amrita) and her third-tier skill is Burning Petals (It’s more of Maralagidyne skill) with Social Link skill she’s got Mind Charge to make her more powerful. Naoto - honestly versatile. If you want to expose enemies weaknesses pretty fast. You should bring Naoto. She have all elemental skills (Agi, Zio, Bufu, Garu) her Hama and Mudo skills are good too. Having Mind Charge, Megidolaon and Heat Riser made her even better as party members but it’s your personal choice whether to make her elemental persona user or more of light/dark persona user like I did.

Honestly I think naoto deserves A tier just for her coverage, it makes grinding and dungeon clearing so much easier, which helps when you have to build a team around characters like teddie, i just ran mind charge plus all coverage moves and megi

Kanji is so much better than chie. His strength stat is through the roof, and he has access to his powerful single-target attacks earlier than chie. The way they're designed, chie is supposed to do more spread damage while kanji can only attack single targets, but since the bosses are the most difficult part of the game, not being able to do good spread damage isn't a flaw for kanji (Besides, he does get a decent spread move from scooters). Kanji also has access to matarukaja, masukunda, and third tier spells which chie never gets (besides a single-target bufudyne which requires five scooter rides to learn). It's true that at the very end, chie spamming agneyastra is a bit better than kanji spamming primal force, but this doesn't make up for how much kanji destroys chie in early and mid game.

@@PepperKoi a year late but I honestly think that Kanji and Chie were both nerfed in golden, there aren't as bulky in vanilla as in that they could remove their weakness witch was something that did not stay in golden, their damage will always be compared to MC because Yoshitsune is his best build and he will always top them. For the other characters they have more features to help synergise the team, Yosuke and Naoto have some good support gimicks with unique buffs (like masukaja, heat riser and SOJ which Naoto can use with the right build) and has access to unqiue elements. Yukiko and Teddie are mostly interchangeble (and I personally like Yukiko a bit more) it's preference, Yukiko has the higher SP and can last longer at healing allies and fufilling that role to no end plus she does not share a weakness with anyone so a group element won't be terrible. Teddie is more risky he gives you access to Junes Bomber but at the cost of sharing a weakness with Yosuke, less SP than Yukiko, he has the atk/def buffs which are nice but not a nessecity thanks to Naoto and Yosuke

I stick with original party, MC Yosuke Chie Yukiko MC : All persona [of course] Yosuke : Masukukaja [Evade spell] + well balanced physical and healing too] Chie : Gods Hand, Power Charge, Dragon Hustle, Revolution [Kinda lacking in the first game, but really god in max level and skills] YUKIKO : [Who needs Teddy when you can Spam Healing with no worries out of SP besides her mind charge, highest magic attack, burn baby burn!] Kanji : He doesnt need magic so trash his zio spells and zio amp cuz he got lowest magic after all. He's physical attack oriented, maybe the best depending how you customized Chie or him [I was really young when i play P4, never realized he was gay, that sauna dungeon of him and stuff] Teddie : I dont know, im trying to play him but Yukiko covers all healings and magic attacks, Yosuke and Chie can buff too so he is really replaceable [Again, i was really young and never realized he was gay too like Kanji, but he is more feminine and like to crossdressing] Maybe he is human that trapped in the tv world but wearing Doll costume. I think the MC is the reason he got back to his human form. Naoto : Hmmm, since the MC can use all personas, her mudo, hama, megi magics just kinda replaceable too, i dont know maybe she's too perfect and balanced, no weakness element makes her boring to me to play her in the party. Rise : Well, she is good support and analyzer just like Fuka but i think Fuka is better. I dont like her as character tho, she is the freak and sex symbols to the game as i get older and realized that. When i was young i think she was pretty cute girl artist on hiatus but no, she just want cute boys and normal life. What do you think? Do you have your own opinion?

I think Kanji is definitely more useful than Chie just because physical attacks are more likely to be used on the single target bosses that don't really have weaknesses or resist magic while magic attacks are more useful for crowd control cuz that is when you can target elemental weaknesses.

A - Yukiko, Yosuke, Rise B - Naoto, Kanji, Chie, Teddie Every good team requires a good physical attacker, healer, de/buffs and elemental coverage. Yukiko is irreplacable as a Magic user and healer. Yosuke has a lot of everything so he's always great. Naoto has no elemental weakness and all emenets on hand and best buff skill for the MC (Heat riser). Kanji and Chie can be replaces easily by Yosuke and Teddie's debuffs can be covered by Yu - Debilitate.

With the current remaster releases coming to all platforms for Persona 3 and 4, I was very very psyched about playing Persona 3. Finally, only to find the portable remaster being underwhelming and lifeless moving on to Persona 4. Golden has been a definite game changer

Chie is alright but she suffers from being a character that specializes in physical stats and attacks. Considering that all the bosses have physical resistances she’s not really all that great when you can get a better magic user like Yosuke that can serve as your buff/debuffer and also has pretty decent physical attacks himself.

Personally I do disagree with this list but great vid anyway. For me Teddie is easily the best party member. He can do phys and ice aswell as heal and buff. Imo Teddie is just a better Yukiko. He trades a little magic for phy attacks and the big thing is buffs. I find that Yukiko is sometimes stuck with nothing to do which is why I feel Teddie's buffs are so good. His healing may be a little worse with mediarama but as soon as mediarahan comes around it barely matters. He just is Yukiko with buffs. Also I feel Chie is no where near as good as Kanji. Kanji does way more phys damage than her(her attack is worser than Yousuke). He also has a better element (elec) and does more damage with it due to amp. He also get masukunda and Matarukaji. The only thing Chie has over him is dragon hustle(which she gets right at the end off the game and costs way too much sp) and multi target which means nothing against bosses which are what you should be most afraid off

I disagree with Kanji being better than Chie. Dragon hustle is simply far too irreplaceable and not even Yu can use an ability similar to that. Closest would be heat riser. Chie may lack in attack stat but she crits more with apt pupil and reflects damage with high counter. Both of them should not be used as magic dealers so Kanji's elec amp/boost means nothing. If the enemy can reflect physical damage at least Chie can be a support role. She can cast dragon hustle at least 2x lasting for 6 turns. You need 3 turns and 3 people to replicate this kind of effect on your team. Kanji is a one trick pony and I prefer characrers that can fill more than one role

Furthermore even with crits, Kanji does more damage than Chie. Finally Kanji get both attack and defence buffs and hit/evasion debuffs so he can fulfill a support role. Plus he has more hp.

Teddie's buffs are good but their are alternatives and it's not dragon hustle, Naoto can learn Heat Riser and SOJ which combined gives you most of the support you need other than yosuke's group hit/evade buff. unlike Chie with Dragon Hustle Naoto can actually use SOJ effectively but it requires all the invigorate passives and because of this it does expect Yu to do most of the damage and has every element accessible to him (which for new game + isn't bad to work with and yes SOJ is a late bloomer skill but heat riser isn't) Yukiko in comparison to teddie is less risky and safer with higher SP and better team synergy as well as builds

Not a bad take, but yukiko does insane amounts of damage with the highest magic stat in the game, so she always has something to do. Teddie also doesn’t get salvation, so he has poor synergy with a tank like kanji. In addition, more characters have independent buffs like mind charge or dragon hustle or heat riser, so buffs aren’t needed. Most player usually run debilitate and dekaja as well, so debuffs aren’t necessary either. I used him for about 2 dungeons until I got naoto with ice coverage so I dropped him. As for kanji, his single target damage makes no sense early game when the player is more focused on grinding and clearing dungeons. Maybe end game when the player skips mobs and goes right for the boss, but even then you need to grind a lot to level him into a viable character. I don’t use chie or kanji, so idrk, but I think chie’s ability to deal massive damage to bosses and shadows makes her a worthwhile character and easier to level up
