Definite contender for the overall powerlifting total if he focused on the sport

Hi Simon, given his stature you could be right.

I love these videos because their rate of development is always so intriguing to me. They all usually have premium muscle building/strength genetics from the get go- and then they just fucking mutate at some stage and the sky’s the limit from there

Same total as Thor but 40 extra pounds in bench and he missed his final lifts. What a beast.

@@StrengthUniverse .....it’s because of all the casuals fanboying Eddie and Thor lol.
@TheJoker-yz8dv3 жыл бұрын
@@seangentri8878 True, but you could say the same about Thor, missed his final deadlift and squat (controversially) and has 44 pounds on Graham's deadlift.
@seangentri88783 жыл бұрын
@@TheJoker-yz8dv ....Of course Thor has a higher deadlift than Graham. That’s common knowledge. The fact that Graham outperforms Thor at bench, log, and most upper body and overhead disciplines at a much lighter body weight is what is impressive here. Additionally Graham’s squats looked better in my opinion and he was pushing the same weight.
@AA-tq7dm3 жыл бұрын
@@seangentri8878 In fairness both are WSM winners and in Thor's case a bunch of other major titles. Hicks is an absolute beast and a great guy but surely we can appreciate all.

One of the strongest static monsters left in the game! Wish there more were of the likes of him, with eddie, hafthor and big z gone he is the only one left i feel like:(

It does seem like that, some competitions seem to go us on dynamic events too much.

Awesome work today brother. I didn’t realize that 2020 WSM was the first time he made the finals out of the qualifiers. It’s a shame he was injured though. He is a great athlete.

Hey, thank you. He's had some bad luck over the years and I think his height hasn't helped but he's definitely one of the best statically.
@seanoconnor11883 жыл бұрын
Great video as always, I believe Graham can become a static monster just like Hall if kept injury free. I'd love to see a comparison between the Open WSM Oleksii Novikov versus the u105kg WSM Anthony Fuhrman.

Thanks Sean, The comparison maybe possible, I'll have to see how many comparative events I can find

Aside from Eddie Hall, I think Graham Hicks is also another static monster that I much more appreciate since he proves the under 6 ft guy could compete in such a monster size comps

They should have given him that second lift in the bench press. He got it all the way up under his own power.

I thought it was a good lift as the weight didn't drop, it was just slower to move on one side. harsh

"Because of weakness on his left side he fails the lift." I'm confused by that. In powerlifting the bar has to be parallel to the floor the entire lift? Or was there something else which happened I missed?

Really possible if he keeps the pace with this speed, that we may see the next Eddie Hall (possible even stronger because of his shorter limbs).

Still feels like he has one more notch he needs to hit to hang with with the best out there. He's close but still has a little more to go. Is it the moving events that's holding him back? Reminds me of smaller Eddie but I think Eddie was a little faster in the moving events.

I'm a fan of Hicks and I luv watching Strongman but that aside as a powerlifter myself I compete in powerlifting where we get drug tested and I'm totally against steraroid users competing in powerlifting as powerlifting should be pure and natural but I'm not taking anything away of what strongmen do the training the food intake but different sports strongmen don't get drug tested and when people compete in my sport that's drug tested and they're on the gear I have no respect for that
@StrengthUniverse3 жыл бұрын
Hi S, I appreciate what you are saying but Powerlifting has numerous tested and non-tested federations so I don't think it's an issue although I am sure there are plenty of guys that cheat, use PED's, come off a cycle a week or two before the contest so they can pass the test.
