I know him :D we were in a Clan before Dota even existed in it's form now and was super small and played Footmen Frenzy in WC3 alot. He is a really cool dude. Btw you should've mentioned he was hired at Heroes of Newerth first and that should be the real DotA 2, but Valve simply offered him more money and forbid HoN to imply more DotA Heroes to their game. But with the veto of Icefrog they could release 1 more hero (they also had Tide Hunter in Development for HoN, but Valve vetoed it and Tide Hunter never released to HoN).

I used to read an reddit post of a guy claimed himself as ex-HoN developer doing an AMA. He said IceFrog used to work for them but left because he was having difficulties to work with other people on the team and also having different aspects and ideas for the game to the leader of the team- who are in the favor of both the team and the company. Also, imagine, you're having an idea, a good one. You look for investor. The first company said: "no, we're gonna have our own game". Then the second company said yes, but instead of let you do your job, they get a guy to tell you how to do that his way. Finally, a third company tell you: "Hey, come here and do it your way". This is why we loved the game tho. Those changes. Its like were playing the heroes that ice frog wants us to play. And when he got bored he nerf the shit out of those heroes then buffed others. It is so sad that the game was so complex right now that kids turn to other mobas since it is a lot easier to master. Also the toxicity.
