Who is Marvel's Sunspot? Superman Power, Batman Paid.

This video explores the abilities, powers, and origin of the Marvel Comics character "Sunspot." From Roberto da Costa growing up as a wealthy Brazilian heir to multi-million dollar empire, the surprise appearance of his solar radiation absorbing mutant powers drawing the attention of an enemy within the Hellfire Club which led to meeting Professor X and joining The New Mutants, ever-increasing power-levels making him one of the physically strongest mutants on Earth, joining various superhuman teams over the years, to using the titles "Citizen V" and "Citizen X" after having unpredictable superpowers and aging due to contracting the M-Pox disease; Let's take a look at this powerful Kryptonian-like Marvel superhero, that has a Batman-like backstory. Sunspot is really underrated Even though hes practically One of the closest Marvel Character similar to Superman. I mean anyone that can actually draw blood from the Hulk is definitely A list. Their powers are not similar at all. Sunspot absorbs solar energy and uses it to gain super strength, super durability, flight, Concussive Blasts of force or heat, thermokinesis, photokinesis, and a bit more. Whereas Superman has his powers naturally and just uses the sun to power him up, and he's got strength, durability, speed, ice breath, flight, laser eyes etc So their power origins are the same. But powers are different

I'm Brazilian and let me tell you, when I read New Mutants, Sunspot was the only character I didn't completely hate. All the others came off as super annoying virtue signalers, but Roberto was just amazingly entertaining. I didn't even know he was Brazilian until he said it and my reaction was something along the lines of "Holy shit, he is Brazilian? Foda pra caralho!" I’ve been a fan of sunspot since his first appearance in the new mutants graphic novel. Though he was of mixed heritage was still display as a darker skinned Black boy, just like Foundational Black Americans are mostly of mixed heritage but still are very dark people. I love that he was a loyal friend and arrogant at the same time. I didn’t like that as his power increased marvel lighten and thinned his African features, making appear more Portuguese than Black Brazilian. I don’t like that they aged him up and overpowered him so marvel could kill him or get rid of him without complaint. Roberto was perfect with his original powers but untalented racist writers who don’t care for non white characters often abuse them before killing them off.

Sunspot has always been one of my favorite characters, then came Bishop, and eventually Synch and Blue Marvel (minus the white wife thing). I hated how Marvel tried to white wash Sunspot in live action adaptations as well as in the comics. His origin is specifically designed around his being black. He's also one of few characters that have been I proved upon by expanding their power set. He was Miles Morales before Miles Morales, yet without the popularity.
