I have to laugh when certain fans claim the show doesn't follow the comic.. They added some things and changed others especially before gimple took over in s4 but since then pretty much every single major point of the comic has happened on screen, sometimes comic accurate sometimes to a different character at a different time.. The overall arcs are straigth from the comic (makes it real easy and nice to predict what will happen in each mid and season Finale).. And even now with the new "direction" the show is still hitting every plot point up to Eugene's date and the introduction of Princess.. The last episode will substitute Carl with Judith.. But prepare for them to have to recast Judith in the last episode since they will most likely jump 10 - 15 years in the future.

They follow it but don't follow it. Like, they hit certain notes, but when people complain, it's often from mishandling it or the budget keeping it from being as cool as the comics, especially when there is filler. Like All Out War was less an all out war like in the comic and a whole lot more dumb decisions and talking. That being said, since season 9, I've either preferred the show's handling or liked it equally.

He died approximately a year to a year and a half later. When Glenn left Lee, he went to Atalanta where he met Shane and his group. It was winter. Next time we see winter is around the time of Alexandria. We see winter seemingly coming to a close in Issue #100, where Glenn died. That was probably around February since winter seemed to have come to it's final close.
