My guess is that they needed a character to be like Dingodile so that Crash Bash can have an even amount of players. Like how Koala Kong is like a clone to Tiny. 2024 Edit: I'm aware that Kong did debut before Tiny, but Tiny has appeared in more games hence why I said that. In fact, Tiny was originally gonna appear in the first game alongside Kong. Anyways, Rilla Roo's creation was originally gonna be a female kangaroo named Kanga-Soo, but that idea was scrapped as the developers felt concerned about beating up a female character, which is ironic since Coco's a playable female character

My theory is that rilla roo was originally meant to be ripper roo, but due to ripper roo's odd character model and the fact you never see his arms move freely, it made his interaction with the environment awkward. So they changed him to rilla roo instead.

Probably emigrants from previous tribes. Katatjuta Ngata and Lookinan Tjulnyu? And of course, Uka Uka's real name has to have contained the surname "Aku", for obvious reasons. Uka was likely to be jealous of his brother when they were living humans, and gave himself Aku's full name turned backwards to state they were opposites, before fleeing and gathering a following of his own. A malevolent following, no less.

Here's what I've personally gathered he was created by Brio possibly with the help of Dingodile. Dingodile worked with Brio after CTR to make more animal mixes. Rillaroo is technically Dingodile's brother. He was made by Brio and his machine and he's a combo between a kangaroo and gorilla. I don't really get the hate for Rillaroo. He really fits with the animal experimentation theme in Crash life. His existence makes sense and his design isn't bad.

For example, Crash Warped's Story in Japan is Crash and his friends travel around the world, while the real story is about the Time Twister Machine and Time Traveling.

I think it was definitely Brio who created Rilla Roo. As mentioned, he tried to thwart crash's attempts at collecting crystals, via mutant cyborg animals and robots throughout the levels, and maybe even some of the bosses. Those poor turtles...Got spikes growing out of their sides or buzzsaws slicing away inside their shells.. And some of them I think were just wild animals, like those frightened rats in the ruins levels. Poor little fellas, stuck atop pillars.

I always thought Brio simply stayed in the ruined cortex castle whilst cortex himself fled and started using the space station with N Gin. Brio is defeated and left inside the castle too so maybe he put out the fires and saved the evolvoray and the remaining animals. They felt thankful and would help him gain revenge on cortex. The reason being is the secret warp room is the top of cortex's castle. all portals are locations for gems which Brio would have installed as he wants crash to find gems and not crystals. This is also the same location he installs his laser to tear down the space station.

I'm sorry, but there is one big problem to your theory. N. Brio wasn't "absent," and the end of Crash 1 (the good ending I believe) that states that N. Brio returned to his former hobby/passion (whatever you want to call it) "tending bar." However, that doesn't mean N. Brio couldn't have gone off to make his own mutants, especially considering that he IS the creator of the evolvo ray.

dude, brio was mentioned in crash 2... it's said in crash 2 that he and cortex had fell out, getting pissed at each other. in fact, collect all the gems in crash 2 and brio is the one that blows up the cortex vortex, which is canon cause that's how crash warped had started (with a piece of the vortex crashing to earth and freeing uka uka). now, the gap from warped to crash bash is where we have no clue about brio, but apparently brio and cortex had made up and started working together again by the start of crash bash

Well it's presumed by some including me that Dingodile may be the creator of Rilla Roo, after supposedly opening up a hybrid pet-shop at the end of Crash Team Racing. Other than that it is presumed that whoever created him was a doctor. It is believed by some that he was created by any one of the doctor characters - Doctor Neo Cortex, Doctor N. Gin, or Doctor Nitrus Brio. Tellingly, I don't recall hearing about anyone that's believed that Doctor Nefarious Tropy may have created him. It is even presumed that Nitros Oxide may have created him, though this is unlikely considering that Rilla Roo fought for the side of evil, on the same side as Uka Uka, and therefore it is unlikely that he was ever allied with Oxide, despite Oxide having Uka Uka as his invincibility mask in Crash Team Racing.

Rilla Roo was meant to be dingodile's "equivalent" like all the others paired with someone (like clone fighters). Seing as Dingodile had a tail move instead of his weapon they probably just rushed a new character that could have that same move without much touch, since no previous character had Dingo's tail and build.

Since Rilla Roo has circus attire and a clownish personality, my theory is that Rilla Roo was actually a baby gorilla that was one of the animals living in the circus Dr. Cortex spent his childhood in. He escaped before the incident that destroyed the circus occurred and reunited with the doctor years later. Neo then decided to mutate Rilla Roo with his Evolvo-ray so he can help him with his plots.

There's no real explanation for where N. Gin comes from, either. He replaces N. Brio as Cortex's sidekick/ right hand man after the events of the first game, but no real explanation of how he got involved with Cortex is ever given. Considering how much Cortex trusts him, he and Cortex must go way back, right? Maybe N. Gin designed the Cortex Vortex, given his background in rocket science!

According to the Crash Bash manual, their "tail whip attack is killer", as well as having some advantage in the tank minigames. To be honest, I was never keen on playing as either of those characters!

They're the worst characters. Their main "advantage" is they can fire two projectiles in tanks, but the individual shots are super weak. This wouldn't be too bad, but you get over a second of mercy invincibility after being shot that means the second shot is useless. They pick up and throw crates the slowest and least far. They're terrible.

If it were up to me, I'd guess that it was Dingodile that created Rilla Roo. Even though the translation could have been off, Brio said that Rilla was created from the genes of Ripper Roo, not that he created Rilla using Ripper Roo's DNA. Besides, just because he knows how Rilla Roo was created, doesn't mean that he did it. But, the ending story of Rilla Roo seems a bit... odd, if you consider that Rilla wasn't created by Dingodile. So, as it's established, he's going to have to be created after Crash Team Racing, but before the start of Crash Bash. After this time, apparently Dingodile opened his lab, and Brio was still MIA. This means that Rilla Roo would not have worked under Cortex during this period, which was the first place I would imagine he would have met Dingodile. Which also doesn't work, because Dingodile was also not working with Cortex post-CTR. The only real way I could think he would have met Dingodile in this scenario is by random chance. I mean, even during Crash Bash, I don't think they could have had any real connection - they were on separate teams. But that's just me and my logic.

If I where to replace Rilla Roo with any other character, I would choose between Ripper Roo or Komodo Moe. I'm a bit biased towards Ripper Roo since he's my favorite besides Dingo, but if they wanted a kangaroo, why not just use the already existing kangaroo character in the series? Plus considering Ripper Roo's character trait he would fit the tone of a party game. However, Komodo Moe would've been the best choice since 1.Komodo Joe was in CTR without his bro, so it would've been perfect to include Moe in the other multiplayer focused game. and 2. considering that each row of good guys and bad guys has a parallel like Tiny to Koala, I honestly can't see how Moe would've not been a decent parallel to Dingodile since both are large enemies but where never portrayed as strength characters, atleast in my opinion. By the way, great video man, keep up to the good work.

1 glaring problem with your brio theory. He went to follow his dreams as a bartender at the end of crash one. That's where he's been for the year. And the secret ending is Cannon because in that ending it says ripper roo went to school and became a professor and the second game supports it because he is actually dressed like a professor and reading books on his desk in crash 2.
