They mention at one point that physical aptitude translates into the game, and that the attacks are mainly reflexive. Considering that the program can't actually tell it's a cat, it likely interprets it's proportional endurance and reflexes, which, for a cat, are actually insanely better than a human, and cat specifically house cats, are INCREDIBLY dangerous hunters... it's obviously a joke, but it almost makes sense that a cat would legitimately dominate in SAO...

In actual Sao, kirito is the second strongest player in the game in level, hut probably the best in skill. Only 1 person is stronger, and it was kinda cheating. Also in the actual show, kirito and the leaders fight is actually alot closer

So if Asuna had been tailing Kirito the entire time, that means she let Godfrey die. Just saying. Also, in the original, Asuna hesitated because she didn't want to actually go through with taking a life. This gave Kuradeel a chance to counter and nearly kill her, only for Kirito to step in and save her while killing Kuradeel instead. And instead of tailing Kirito the entire time, she had only come when Godfrey's signal died and realized something had gone wrong, which technically is also stalking, cause she'd been watching their position the entire time.

For the record, it's never been specifically stated who is stronger between Asuna and Kirito in the original material, but it has been hinted a few times that Asuna was just as, if not, stronger then him, despite her lower screen-time. I'm pretty sure that in canon, Kirito is stronger than Asuna in everything but Acrobatics and attack speed. The acrobatics thing seems to be unique to her character (stat doesn't show on other character sheets when they show them) but the combat speed is related to the fact that she uses a piercing/thrusting weapon vs. Kirito's slashing weapon.

SPOILERS FOR ARC 2 THAT HASN"T COME OUT YET! . . . . . . . . . . . Asuna is actually the stronger of the two. Well. I should say that they were supposed to be on equal footing, but Asuna was faster than Kirito leading to her being the 'technically' stronger between them. She also managed to do the thing Kirito failed to do in that filler (but also not filler) and get the prise that was essentially something that put her a step above Kirito all the same. At least, that's what my very vague memory remembers about the event. As a side. GGO is about as bad as arc 2 was, but GGO2 was AMAZINGLY better and removed the Kirito/Asuna crew to do their own story, which was oddly better than I ever expected.

So when it comes to the stats Kirito strains that is higher and his speed is lower so he is stronger than arsenal however her speed is much faster but she’s slightly weaker so her speed is as high as his strength and his strength and his speed is high is her strength so even though he is stronger she is technically faster so depending on the experience and if they are actually trying or not she could technically finish them off faster but he will do more damage tour that’s the difference between those two they are in their own right the top five strongest in SAO Heathcliff is one Kirito is two and Arsenal Street respectively but there’s some other players that aren’t shown that could potentially be stronger than Asuna not necessarily Kirito

I'm glad you also asked this question of who is stronger in the manga and anime its shown and stated that Asuna is actually the stronger out of the two Kirito has a higher defense while Asuna has a higher offense (all her sword skills/attacks are speed based as kiritos is strength based) how ever further into the anime (season 2 of the anime) kirito basically is granted the title of god of the swordsman class (given Game master Privileges) thus allowing him to adjust and scale his stats accordingly with out giving out console commands. Basically Asuna is stronger then Kirito until season 2 of the anime. Kirito even goes on to admit that she is a stronger player then he is on the very first boss (his thoughts).
