When I was getting food from Five Guys before my night shift, I was in a terrible mood. Moment I walked in, one of the cooks yelled out "Hey partner, welcome in!" After my order was finished, he handed it to me with all the care in the world and the most happy and satisfied smile on his face. Took me out my bad mood and think- he truly enjoys what he does. That was a few months ago now but I remember everything about him from just a 3 minute interaction.

When I was is 8th grade, I was walking to my school in POURING rain in the winter, so it was very dark in the morning. I didn't live close to the school at all, but I was eligible for bussing. He man in a minivan pulled over after he saw me walking and asking me if I wanted a ride and where I was going. I was terrified because it was my first time walking to school. but I was so wet and cold and sad that I just got in. He said he was driving to the school too to drop his kids off. He dropped me off and just drove away. His little babies waved at me through the window. And I'll never forget that guy ❤

An exchange student from Mexico. He didn’t bully me or treat me like a nerd like my regular classmates did. He taught me how to play billiards and some rudimentary French. (His mom was French, Dad Mexican). I wrote a letter to him that following summer but he must have moved to France to live with his mom as that was his dream after graduation. Still thankful for your friendship, Gerardo (Gérard), wherever you may be!

One time when I was 13, I was doing a cross country road trip with my family. At that age I was struggling a lot mentally and wasn’t very happy with my life. There was one time we stopped at a breakfast/lunch place to eat, and the waitress came up to me and spoke to me after noticing the only thing I had ordered was a small salad that I only had one bite of. I still remember her words. “Is everything alright? You seem like you aren’t very happy with yourself.” she spoke to me for a good while, telling me that she’s had similar struggles and that things do eventually get better, and that I should be kind to myself. Very kind woman who I’ll never forget, she had made my day and I still think about her.

Will never forget a woman my sister and I met at New York Port Authority years ago when we were teenagers who took the bus to the city early every morning for a job. We were sitting on the floor inside, waiting for our bus, when a strange man came up and sat down next to us and began talking to us. After awhile, he asked for our phone numbers and was not taking no for an answer. Out of nowhere, a young woman who looked to be in her mid-20s walked up and sat down next to us, eating sushi and pretending that she knew us. Irritated that the woman had interrupted him, the man held his fist up to her jaw and threatened her. She didn't flinch and calmly and sternly told the man to walk away, and he did. The woman told us, "I've been in the Army for two years and if there's anything I learned, it's that people are crazy." We reported the man but they weren't able to find him after he left. Still think of her as our guardian angel to this day!

For me it was a beautiful woman on my 21st bday. Was going thru a lot in my life and she approached me at the bar, said I looked like I needed some cheering up, danced with me, kissed me and wished me a happy birthday despite me not telling her it was my bday. Really made my day

4:37 I recently watched a documentary about Golden Gate Bridge Jumpers. One person left a note that said 'I'm going to walk all the way there (this person lived completely across town) and if just one person smiles at me on the way there, I won't jump'. They fished that person's body from the water a week later.

So a few months ago I was in the park with my nephew after picking him up from school (there's a park next to the school) and I was on the swing waiting for him to finish playing, and of course he didn't want to leave and started crying so I sat there on the swing giving him a little more time to play, then this lady comes to sit on the swing next to me and asks me if I've eaten; y'know basic small talk and then she asked me if he's my son so I nodded and she told me something that almost made me cry, she was so nice and knew how frustrated i felt with him. I wont (and I never will) forget her words or her in general, she was lovely

I’m a kennel tech and ì’ll always remember one time two middle aged women came in to the clinic with a mother dog and her newborn babies, I commented on cute the pups were, almost right on cue they told me in a playful *argumentative tone*”you’re so cute, bless your heart, etc. it was so sweet,I’ll never forget them I still sometimes see the dog come in.

My husband I took a cruise for our honeymoon. It was my first time on a cruise ship and I spent most of the first day completely nauseous. During a newlyweds type game in the auditorium we got pulled on stage. I was asked the first question and at that moment i knew i was going to barf. Instead of answering i just ran off stage. Everyone was so confused, including my husband who tried to grab me to stop me to ask what was wrong. I dodged his hands and just kept going. I felt horrible and embarassed. I was terrified that i would blow chuncks all over the nice carpet. Suddenly a 20 something guy who looked like a frat bro shoved his empty beer stien in my hands and pointed to the nearest ladies bathroom. I cant tell you how grateful i was to have a complete stranger know just what i needed. I barfed in the glass but made it to the bathroom in time before it filled up. When i cleaned myself up and left the bathroom my husband was outside still clueless why i left. The stranger was the only one who knew what was going on with me. I never got to thank him either lol

One day I was on a walk doing something, cant remember exactly. I didnt have the best relationship with my mom for a variety of reasons and we just didnt see eye to eye but I never told anyone about this and bad the relationship was, this is important for s good reason. About midway through my walk, a Sikh Man came out of nowhere and asked if I was okay or something like that to break the ice since I had not noticed him until he just materialized out nowhere. I answered that I am fine and he got to the point and said that I did not have a great relationship with my mom and disagreed with something I wanted to do in life and there is not much of a relationship between us, or something to that effect. I was surprised as to how he knew considering I never even uttered a word about it to anyone and wondered how he knew since I did not mentioned my mom at all to him. I cannot remember what he said next but I think he mentioned how it will be better in some way or something like that, cant fully remember since its been 5 years. I havent seen him since as if he just vanished on the day I suddenly met him, got angel like vibes from him and I am not particularly religious. The entire experience was interestikg to say the least, wonder what he really was and where he is now at least once a month or so.

My girlfriend at the time told me we should spend my tax money to move from the southeast US to pacific northwest where she had a job lined up. She threw me out on the street when we got there. There was this eastern European guy walking around town at night with expensive camera equipment, apparently on vacation. He started randomly talking to me and I showed him around town (which I had spent the last 2 days wandering around). Dropped him off at a nice restaurant where he offered to buy me some food, but I honestly couldn't eat for about a week straight even when people offered me food, because I was so distressed about the situation. I ended up living on the street for the better part of a year because I had no ID and couldn't get a job. It's been 13 or so years but I still remember that guy.

Met a very attractive man at an eclectic bar in the Texas desert. He had the same degree I was in and had gone to the field camp I was there to take. It was like finding yourself talking to that absurdly perfect guy in the cheesy romance novels. He asked me if I wanted to shut down the town with him but being the insufferably pragmatic person I am I told him no. He was disappointed but took it well and offered to follow me to my hotel to make sure I got inside safe. I must have hesitated a second too long and his expression fell into exasperation, "You're staying in your car aren't you." I must have glowed in the dark from blushing in embarrassment. "My momma is gonna tear me a new one if I let you stay in your danged car." I wasn't gonna let him take me anywhere because again, I'm very cautious, so I lied my ass off. He didn't buy a second of it, told me as much but let me go after he gave me his number and told me to call if I needed anything. It was the most insane unreal 'met a flirty stranger at a bar' situation I've ever known. The whole thing played out like a dream. Hope you're doing well out there Nolan.

Years ago I had a guy walk up and call me by my name and said it was great to see me, how am I doing and such. We talked for about five minutes and when he left my friends asked who was that? My response was I have no idea. I’ve never seen him before.

There used to be a guy on my team at work (department store) who I never spoke or interacted with, but he always seemed.. not all.. there. I nicknamed him 'High guy' since I never knew his actual name, and he always acted weird. One day in the break room, he just crouched over by the counter under the microwave, and started rocking back and forth mumbling to himself.. I thought it was strange so I asked if he was alright, and he didnt respond. I looked for our manager and he grabbed high guy and dragged him to a back room... that was the last time I ever saw high guy. He was high as a kite, and got arrested for possession of illegal materials. How he ever managed to work that job for a solid year before getting caught is beyond me 😅 I guess the nickname was legit though.

For me it will be the random man who helped me up of the ground as I was being trampled outside a London Train station. Asked me where I was going, told him I was going to Edinburgh and he told me I’ll be better when I get there. He was right.

I had a job counting foot traffic, so I was basically sitting in the same spot for 2 weeks, 14 hours a day, just counting everyone who walked past. This strange old man told me to leave the city because It was going to be abandoned just like thousands of other cities have been, he explained about all the abandoned cities in south America but we were in south Australia. Recently, they discovered that the abandoned cities of the inca and myan cultures actually had millions of people living in them before any European cities had populations in the millions. So he was right about the abandoned cities and as South Australia only has a population of 2.5 million people, those abandoned cities had more people than the entire state I live in.

Whenever I took the bus home from school, there was this woman who would be on it at least a couple times a week. She was about 20-something and looked chavvy. She was always talking to someone on the phone throughout the ride. She always sounded ticked off with whoever she was giving her pep talk to and was loud but she never got too aggressive or resorted to swearing down the phone. When she wasn't on the phone, she was quiet. She didn't bother me, but I always felt intimidated by her appearance. One day, some boys from my class who bullied me on occasion were standing up at the front of the bus in the aisle and were talking at me and cackling. Mostly using racist Indian accents whilst talking to me (I'm white British, so were they) and saying "Hello, my name is [my name]". All in front of lots of passengers including my brother who was too spineless to tell them to stop. The boys gave up when they couldn't get a reaction out of me and just started laughing and talking amongst themselves whilst glancing at me. I suddenly feel a hard tap on my arm, I look across to the seat opposite me and it's the chavvy woman with a furious look on her face. She asked me if those boys were bullying me. I said yes and gave a quick summary of their bullying history. Both of us went quiet for a minute until I heard a thunderous "Oi!" from the woman. Startling the entire single decker bus. She started ripping my bullies a new one and telling them to back off or there will be trouble. They tried to act like she was in the wrong and they were innocently saying hello to me. I remember her screaming "You better stop or I'll 'Hello [my name]' you!" The boys kept smirking and giggling but had already run out of things to say. It at least shut them up and they left me alone for the rest of the ride. The woman turned to me and told me that they worthless morons and that she put them in their place. I was in such shock over the incident because this was the first time a member of the public had stood up for me and I didn't know how to react. I let out a small thanks before we quietly sat there as if nothing happened. My brother admitted he said nothing because he thought an argument had kicked off until he heard the woman yell my name. He still never intervened and told me that the only reason why I was being bullied because I don't talk to people (complete BS - he did nothing to help me because he was a selfish teenager back then). I told my parents what happened later and they told me that I had to give the woman a proper thanks when I next saw her on the bus. I never saw her on my bus again and the bullies only ever bothered me in class. That was back in 2011-12.

Happened about 20 years ago… I was waiting for the bus. It was raining. A young lady about my age (23) give or take a year or two walked up to me and offered to share her umbrella. I was married and was hesitant but it was coming down pretty hard so I accepted. After a few minutes my bus came and I thanked her. She was waiting for a different bus and told to have a nice day but I could hear the disappointment in her voice. She waved to me as the bus pulled away. I never saw her before that day and never did see her again. Never got her name and she never got mine. If only I would have known at the time that my wife had a boyfriend and we’d be getting divorced shortly thereafter…
