One of my favourite scenes in the entire series is when Kenny is dancing in the middle room, and Spenny has to walk past him to the kitchen. Then it just cuts to him saying "yeah i dont know what the hell that was"

That always stuck out to me too. Sickly old man, prisoner about to be executed, etc. And you just roll your eyes at it, like even the coach does! It almost feels like he has this concept of his work that what he writes about has to be grim, and depressing, and "important" in order to carry any meaning, rather than just writing from the heart and putting in some real emotions, like what the coach recommended him to do.

As I re-watch these when I am older, I now realise how much more sinister and darker Spenny truly is. Presents as altruistic, caring, selfless, for equality etc. but I now see through his character and he is the literal opposite of these things.... these two together make perfect television. Good point. Some of the shots are mixed between them preparing and his actual performance to the judge. Kenny is wearing the cloak in one shot and then isn't in another. At 13:30, that could've been a rehearsal since the guy had his mask on.
