Roy the pundit is ironically the complete opposite of Roy the player - bar maybe Redknapp he's probably the laziest of the lot. He literally collects paychecks for years for doing the absolute bare minimum talking about intangibles like character, integrity and attitude but will not exert a minute of his time to tell you what teams are getting wrong tactically and how to fix it. No wonder he's such a failed coach. I love him only for the meme value when United lose but easily the most predictable pundit of everyone on any television network

I love Keane and Richards together. Whoever thought of putting those 2 together is a genius. Micha Richards is like the over hyper little brother or something who is constantly winding everyone up and being a giddy kipper. This actually gives a very fascinating insights to the pundits' relationships with each other. Souness and Keane are obviously held at higher esteem by everyone, a bit of a dividing seniority due to their age and careers. Redknapp's the guy that gets along well with everyone but gets quite irritated by the upperclassmen and wanted to be treated equally lol. Micah and Carragher have a very childish brotherly relationship where both are equally crazy. Micah and Keane have a new generation-old generation camaraderie that is chaotically hilarious. Lastly, Carragher and Neville are obviously just best mates who dedicated their whole lives to annoying the hell out of each other lol

In fact most of the time the CL is won it's not by the winner of the previous season. because having 2nd and 3rd and 4th place teams MAKES IT HARDER - qualifying was harder winning it was VASTLY easier back in the 70s and 80s. u play no one from ur country, you play 1 team from spain and italy and germany - were as now you can play 3 other teams from the PREM - already MORE difficult - you could play not just Real, but Barca or A.Madrid you could play not just Juve, but Inter or AC Milan or Napoli, you play vastly more games and teams. and the fact that more than just the winner qualifies makes it harder in the 80s liverpool only had to beat 5 teams and they won it. ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE to the same competition it is now or difficulty which is why villa, and forrest were also winning it.
