When it is read from Srila BhaktiSiddhanta Sarasvati thakura conversation, articles, Srila Prabhupada NOI , Srila Gaur Govinda Svami Maharaj or Srila Narayana Svami Maharaj it is said clearly that diksha should be taken from an uttama adhikari or Mahabhagavatha. Even accepting a madhya adhikari and taking diksha is just a formality duty by the madhyama adhikari guru. In that case should one wait for some lives serving some advanced madhyama adhikari guru until one meets a Mahabhagavatha in some life. Currently on earth highly advanced few Vaishnavas from Vrindavan , Gaudiya Math, Iskcon themselves say honestly that they are on madhyama platform and still praying for mercy to attain prema.

But how do you recongnize who is on madhyama platform, what to speak of uttama adhikari? This is the crucial point. A beginner is spiritual life is blind and easily cheated by so-called gurus and preachers, who are looking for name, fame, followers, wealth and women. And a bona fide vaishnava considers himself most fallen and would never boast of being anything, except trying to become a servant of his spiritual master. They are not easily recognized and without Krsna's mercy it's impossible to recognize them. We need to cry for Krsna to please send me Your man, Your representative who can give me Krsna. Without this prayer and sincere desire to surrender to Krsna there's no question of meeting or recognizing a bona fide spiritual master.

@@HHMKSMEDIA Thanks Maharaj, I heard the same from Srila Gour Govinda Svami Maharaj to pray and cry in front of Krsna to meet such a transcendental personality. But to continue practice and to take guidance if he hear sabda Brahman from someone by Krsna's mercy at least can we continue to hear their classes and get inspired by them if Paramatma is giving inspiration from their classes. In the end until I met a transcendental personality who can awaken me to transcendental state by Krsna's mercy I should continue to do some practices like chanting, hearing getting samskara which all mayn't be at transcendental state but some abhasa or reflection and sukriti.Otherwise I will again fall prey to deep Maya going away completely from the path to Lord.

I'm just Maharaja's disciple, managing his youtube channel, so please don't mind. Definitely we still have to practice, as you are saying, to get more sukrti, trying to please Srila Prabhupada and the previous acharyas, but how well are we doing? So when we are not satisfied with the lack of results we are getting, then we have to pray and cry to Krsna to give us better association, real sadhu-sanga. There's no other way to get out of maya. Here is a nice reference from the scriptures: "Cc. Madhya 22.51: mahat-kṛpā vinā kona karme 'bhakti' naya kṛṣṇa-bhakti dūre rahu, saṁsāra nahe kṣaya If one is serious about escaping māyā's influence and returning home, back to Godhead, one must associate with a sādhu (devotee). That is the verdict of all scriptures. By the slight association of a devotee, one can be freed from the clutches of māyā. Without the mercy of the pure devotee, one cannot get freedom by any means. Certainly a pure devotee's association is necessary in order to obtain the loving service of the Lord. One cannot be freed from māyā's clutches without sādhu-saṅga [Cc. Madhya 22.83], the benediction of a great devotee." Srila Prabhupada is quoting this Caitanya-caritamrta verse in SB 5.3.14, and in CC itself he is giving a very nice and clear purport to this verse: Pious activities bring about material opulence, but one cannot acquire devotional service by any amount of material pious activity-not by giving charity, opening big hospitals and schools or working philanthropically. Devotional service can be attained only by the mercy of a pure devotee. Without a pure devotee’s mercy, one cannot even escape the bondage of material existence. The word mahat in this verse means ”a pure devotee,” as Lord Kṛṣṇa confirms in the Bhagavad-gītā (9.13): mahātmānas tu māṁ pārtha daivīṁ prakṛtim āśritāḥ bhajanty ananya-manaso jñātvā bhūtādim avyayam ”O son of Pṛthā, those who are not deluded, the great souls, are under the protection of the divine nature. They are fully engaged in devotional service because they know Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, original and inexhaustible.” One has to associate with such a mahātmā, who has accepted Kṛṣṇa as the supreme source of the entire creation. Without being a mahātmā, one cannot understand Kṛṣṇa’s absolute position. A mahātmā is rare and transcendental, and he is a pure devotee of Lord Kṛṣṇa. Foolish people consider Kṛṣṇa a human being, and they consider Lord Kṛṣṇa’s pure devotee an ordinary human being also. Whatever one may be, one must take shelter at the lotus feet of a devotee mahātmā and treat him as the most exalted well-wisher of all human society. We should take shelter of such a mahātmā and ask for his causeless mercy. Only by his benediction can one be relieved from attachment to the materialistic way of life. When one is thus relieved, he can engage in the Lord’s transcendental loving service through the mercy of the mahātmā. So let's pray to be fortunate enough to meet such a sadhu and get his mercy.

Srila Prabhupāda said sincerily pray to Krishna, then he will send you a very nice guru and dictate you in your heart to go and surrender to that guru. Krsna is chaitya guru in the heart, he will manifest externally as a physical spiritual master to guide you. So thats what Srila Prabhupāda said and same thing is wrriten in scriptures. Its an eternal science of god's way of helping conditioned souls which requires mercy of Krsna to understand. It will never change. People are avoiding to understand this philosophy and trying to misinterpret the words of Srila Prabhupada in a way which goes against Guru, Sadhu and Shastra even though all these three always convey same message, not even a minute difference. Then how will Prabhupāda himself now follow what he preached in his books. Thats why we need to depend on Krsna for intelligence and faith (dadami buddhi yogam), then he will convince us in a way that everything will be reconciled Guru, Sadhu and Shastra. Everything will make sense. Just because people dont know whome he instructed to be Guru, they are trying to misinterpret the words of Srila Prabhupada and assuming something false at the cost of going against the teachings of his own books. It doesn't make any sense.

So what about the Guru's that were instructed by Srila Prabhupada and later got corrupted, murdered people and got caught dealing drugs?

They were never instructed to become gurus as they were not qualified, and all the falldowns and deviations is the proof of it. Srila Prabhupada would never appoint someone who is not qualfied as they are not able to continue the parampara. Bona fide spiritual master is a pure self-realized devotee in direct contact with Krsna, a pure via medium capable of conveying Krsna's message and instructions to conditioned souls. In regards of this specific point you can also search into "Tamal Krishna Topanga Canyon Pyramid House Talks". Tamal Krishna Goswami admitted that they were never appointed to become gurus.

He was physically incapable of performing the function of initiating physically; therefore he appointed officiating priests to initiate on his behalf. He appointed eleven and he said very clearly, “Whoever is nearest, he can initiate.” This is a very important point, because when it comes to initiating, it is not “whoever is nearest.” It is wherever your heart goes-to whom you can repose your faith in. But when it is officiating, it’s “whoever is nearest,” and he was very clear... “Whoever is nearest will check you out. Then, on my behalf, they will initiate....” If it had been more than that [officiating priests], you can bet your bottom dollar that Prabhupāda would have spoken for days and hours and weeks on end about how to set up this thing with the gurus.... But he did not, because he already said it a million times. He said, “My Guru Maharaja did not appoint anyone. It is by qualification.” We made a great mistake....
