I've loved Abba for a long time. Ever since Eurovision in 1974. My favourite member of the band has always been Frida. For me, she has the best voice despite Agnetha being chosen as the front singer for most of the bands most successful songs. I'd recommend that anyone should listen to Frida sing "Like An Angel Passing Through My Room" from their album "The Visitors" :)

Too much tittle tattle tabloid silliness. Why even mention the 'West affair'? The paper itself basically admitted the other woman was somebody else. They just used Anni-Frid's name as clickbait. Well, needless to say, all of the four ABBA members are pretty well off, though they don't live flashy lifestyles. It's hard to judge who is wealthiest as they each have various financial sources. Benny and Bjorn, as songwriters for ABBA as well as many other artists plus their involvement with musicals have certainly earned most directly from music. Benny owns a hotel too. Bjorn also has a hotel complex in his hometown plus has been involved in a number of ventures connected to ABBA and music in general. Either one of these two gents could be top. Agnetha will also be sitting pretty with income from her ABBA royalties as well as solo career, where she has song-writing credits too. After ABBA effectively split in the early 80's, Frida sold her shares in Polar when they were still priced high. The other three got stung when some of the ventures Polar traded in collapsed, causing the shares to plummet in value It's unknown what she was bequeathed after the Prince's death but she has properties in Sweden, Switzerland, Mallorca and the UK. It is thought she also invested in the ;Mamma Mia' musical from the outset. But as said, it's hard to say as, whilst they live very comfortably, none of them reside in castles, palaces or overly sized mansions and there are no stories of them flaunting their wealth. It's in keeping with their upbringings in 1950/60's Sweden.

the movie does not mention the main factor: Annifrid Lyngstadt sold the rights for her royalties on the ABBA songs to the other three ABBA members when they decided to split up in 1983. Soon after, ABBA‘s manager Stig Andersson was caught with fraud and tax infringements, and the ABBA empire collapsed. Annifrid Lyngstadt was the only one who didn‘t suffer any commercial losses out of that time.

Frida is very involved in the community in Zelsnat and in her interview she speaks of living there and her life there. She loves going for long walks on the mountains there. A lot of the information on here is wrong..first of all they did not split up, they say it themselves. Second in none of the interviews that Frida has done she mentions been a writer. Agnetha was more famous than Frida prior and after Abba, two different styles. She put out 3 or 4 albums with many if the songs become number in various countries. The boys had their own bands and Benny continued to play with them and still has his own band. I wish if people are going to make videos they do their research and put out accurate information.

I am not surprised Frida is the wealthiest. She had to grow up fast, never really had a childhood. Had to cook and take care of the house very young. Had to learn to sew and knitt to help her grandmother who was a seamstress make more money. She started singing professionally at 13 to make money. Smart cookie business wise. Also an incredible perfectionist. So saving and making money and hard work ethic has always been taught to her.

I think that the fortune of 4 members should be similar, not a big difference of 100 and 150 millions dollars between Anni-Frid/Bjorn and Benny/Agnetha. There is also a contradiction: how it is supposed that Agnetha who gave "more" hits to the band (which I disagree; both girls gave a lot of hits to the band) had the lesser fortune? @@VERDEESCORPION1030 The fortune coming from ABBA I believe was distributed as follows: One half (50%) was for Stickan (Abba’s manager) the other half was split into 4 equal portions for each member (Frida, Bjorn, Benny, and Agnetha). Each personal gain and fortune was tied to individual money investment after they disbanded ABBA. Frida made a clever financial move, when she sold her Abba rights at a high price, back in the 80’s. But also she married a German/Swedish prince (Ruzzo) who was a super-rich man. In addition, Frida has invested her money well. I think they all have.

Uh...The first problem is you start off saying Frida is #4, and then you also say she is the richest member. The second problem is, the actual answer to the question of the richest member of ABBA is Benny. He composed most of the music of ABBA, so got the biggest piece of the royalties as the main composer. Second is Bjorn as the lyricist and co-composer with Benny. Third is probably Frida due to her German royalty. Fourth is Agnetha, ironically because she is really the face of ABBA.

It is nothing to do with Frida marrying royalty, she has been the richest ABBA member since the 80s. She sold her shares in Polar in the 80s when they had a very high value, which made her extremely rich and the other 3 lost millions later on when those shares devalued significantly due to very bad investments. Frida made better investments in other ventures that generated a lot of income. All ABBA members receive royalties for their songs and Benny does not receive more than Björn - that is not the Swedish way. Frida also invested a significant amount of money in the concept and set up of Mamma Mia and that continues to generate a lot of money. Also, you are the individual who argued constantly and insisted that Agnetha sang in the live version of Why Did It Have To Be Me and said “I would know Agnetha’s voice anywhere and I can clearly hear her” - despite several people telling you she was backstage and not involved in that performance. There would have been no ABBA without Agnetha. And all the other three knew that. She is the only one among the others that can read the music sheet. She can play the piano and she can compose songs. She was a bigger star more than the others in Sweden before her ABBA career. She agreed to shrinking her image to enlarge Benny and Bjorn who could write songs in English. Agnetha didn't quite receive all the accolades due to her and was often bullied for being responsible for ABBA break up in the press. Frida was a good singer but she couldn't write or compose songs and couldn't play any instruments. As a teenager, Agnetha even wrote a song that knocked the Beatles out of the number one spot on Swedish chart. She played the role of Mary Magdalen in the Swedish adaptation of Jesus Christ Super Stars. She is the most awarded member of the foursome post ABBA. If someone is perceived as an embodiment of beauty and talent, there is a tendency for that person to be critized negatively. Human nature sadly but true. Hasta Manana could have been forgotten if Agnetha didn't salvage it. The song was considered as a possible entry from ABBA for 74 euro vision before Waterloo was finalized. After writing hasta manana, Bjorn, Benny and Frida couldn't perform it. Agnetha refused to give up on the song. When the others have left the studio, she tried to sing it as a Connie Francis style of music and behold, hasta manana was born. Agnetha is responsible for all the vocal gimmicks you hear on ABBA songs. Like her or care less, one thing I like about Agnetha and Frida as well is that they didn't let fame and fortune get in to their heads like we see with today's stars.

They don’t like to talk about their income they own hotels and the ABBA museum but surely I can tell you the richest one is Benny , then Bjorn , Agnetha and Frida , in that order . Just think of this , Judy Cramer partner of Benny and Bjorn in Mamma mía , has a fortune of 120 million just from the stage production . The net worth of the ABBA members won’t be revealed ever .

No Frida is the richest. There would have been no ABBA without her. She actually left the group (not Benny) early on to go back to a solo career. Stig Andersson had a freak out and told Benny he better get her back! He had to promise Frida a solo album to get her back. Fernando was originally her song on that album then they did a cover with ABBA. After ABBA Frida made a huge album with Phil Collins and had mega hits with Swedish albums. Agnetha never did that.

That album was 1975 Frida ensam (Frida Alone) which contained the original version of Fernando. Had she not come back, abba never would have been as successful. Stig knew that. Fridas first sebum after abba was produced by Phil Collins who also played drums on it. It contained The highly successful song "I know Somethings Going On" and sold over 2 million copies. Facts.
