To be honest, from a superficial level Davis struck me as a typical street guy UNTIL I saw a video of him answering questions. Contra, everytime he answers I noticed his ‘slowness’ was the man thinking and taking time to answer questions deeply. This is something lacking in people today and even in myself. Interesting perspective Professor Carm, and definitely lines up with what I have noticed about Davis.

Who's has the highest boxing IQ P4P of all time. I wanna say either Dwight Muhammad Qawi, B-Hop, James Tony or Hagler. I say Hagler because his ability to combine his athleticism with his skills was simply marvelous. Qawi if I'm not mistaken he started boxing later in life, but destroyed the LH division and at 5'5 he lasted 7 rounds with the Titan George Foreman. If he stayed in the LH division I think he would be considered the greatest Light Heavyweight of all time, he's an under appreciate it boxer.

I couldn't agree more, I'm the same exact height as him and I spar mostly people taller than me I had to be innovative when against them. I remember watching the fight against Garcia and it felt like I was sparring my taller friends. I may not be a professional but his intentions were clear to me

Yes I totally agree tank Davis is the smartest boxer It's not just the power is to trap tank sets that makes him the smartest and plus he does another smart thing when he interviews he takes his time listens to the question and thinks about what he's going to say.

some fighters got that demeanor where you know if they're tested they will remain cool enough to handle pressure and handle it intelligently. I still remember the way he knocked out cruz, the angle he was in shows it was not some muscle memory or luck, it was clearly predicted based on the data he collects on his opponent mid fight. it was a beautiful k.o. he made cruz feel way too safe trading while he was close, or at least that was the way i remember it.

When I first saw the title, I knew that you were talking about Tank. And no, Haney nor Stevenson are better boxers than him. He will systematically destroy both of them.

@ocappytan: I was tested at 16 by a communist group in New Brunswick NJ and it was 135 at that time. The reason is that my mother graduated from high school at 16, my father got his Bachelors degree in chemical engineering in 1962 through correspondence and was the head of QC for Squibb/bristol myers. From the time I can remember, I had books around me, puzzles and erector sets of some sort. This helped me to focus, deal with boredom and stick to tasks.

Just paused the video: I knew you were going to say Tank! I strongly agree and I've said countless times that Tank is a VERY intelligent person. He isn't dumb by any means and he is a much more technical and cerebral boxer than he gets credit for. I'd say other than Crawford, he is the best right now when it comes to thinking and adapting on the fly. Those qualities get overshadowed by his athleticism and power apparently. But his brain is what makes those physical qualities that much more dangerous. Some critique his low activity level also but I believe that's where his game begins and it's smart as it conserves energy that he can use to think and plan while still remaining more than enough of a threat to keep the opponent honest. I've never saw Tank as a brawler but as a slick, defensive, technical fighter with power, speed, and athleticism.
