Astonishing cover of this song. Can't imagines how long it took James Wilkas to mix all of this - a true genius. Tori is only twenty years old and a big Carpenters fan and other artist from the sixties and seventies . It's quite comforting to see Tori and these other youngsters keeping the old classics alive like Angelina Jordon and Lucy Thomas, who incidentally has just released a cover of Unchained Melody with Lucy's magical touch. We have enough Taylor Swift types at the moment. So Kudus to Tori, Angelina and Lucy for giving us some great music of the past.

He knows I get a special thrill watching the new folks. Especially when they are familiar with Carpenters. I was your parents, I started with them at 14 in 1970. Through the whole run. Then the gap. Now Tori. I know there are others and some are very good. Tori is special. I got to see her live at the Carpenters 55th Anniversary Celebration in April. There’s more to come. Yes she did all that you see in her boxes. But I’m pretty sure she sent them all to Jim for final mixing and editing into the masterpiece. Jim is a genius putting this beast together!

A very nice reaction both with your comments and visual actions and this recording syncs up extremely well with one of the Carpenters renditions. Tori is an amazing upcoming talented singer and should do very well for herself in the future and should inspire the younger generation as Karen Carpenter inspired me and many others in the 1979's and 80's.

Tori is very versatile, she does Oluvia Newton John and my favourite is a cover of Perry Como's " It's Impossible" which she perfirms with Dan Wesley, absolutely beautiful, a lovely natural young woman who doesn't seem to have an ego.

You were mentioning Tori's range. Believe it or not, she has an Olivia Newton-John cover at her site, in which she effects a lighter, breathier tone and goes higher. As you probably remember, Olivia had a higher range than Karen. Also, what you can't tell from this video is that Tori is gifted musically, in that she can hear the individual notes in harmonies. At her site, she has a demo of a segment of a Carpenters song that has overdubbed singing. She actually sings the individual notes into a recording multitrack deck, then plays them back all at the same time. She's a whiz not only at using multitrack equipment, but computer sequencing software that allows recording and overdubbing all in the PC. She's brilliant.

@@jbs256 Yeah, three years ago! Something I just noticed ... she did this video from what looks like a living room, whereas a lot of videos are from her studio festooned with anechoic foam squares. She upgraded.
