In new horizons I’ve noticed a few things about Zipper. 1. If you use reactions or show emotions in front of him he just stops hopping and stares at you blankly. 2. In this one he always spins to face you so that you can’t see his zipper. 3. If you walk far enough off screen and can still see him in the distance, he stops hopping and sighs. Then starts walking around normally. 4. His voice is different than others. Almost monotone and somewhat disturbs me. He is definitely up to something I swear.

The new villagers mistook the human to be the Easter Bunny, and word spread quickly. Soon, the human was known worldwide, but now they could never truly fit in. They could only appear on Bunny Day or else people would swarm them. And they hated it. No one genuinely wanted to be their friend anymore. They tried dissapearing for one year, but that caused widespread panic. And so Zipper T. Bunny was born. And so here Zipper T. Bunny shall stay. Stuck forever with the happy face that they decided to make the mask.

Interesting theory but I disagree. While Phyllis being able to fly and all is certainly true and she could potentially dupe you, I don't think Zipper disliking his job is enough evidence. Being in costume is a fairly hated job by those who have to do it. I think it's probably a separate character personally.

Many people also believe it could be another human player since the costume is around the same height as your character and he jumps a lot. I think that a young homeowner looking for money would step into that suit as well as the fact that there little, if any, room for her beak and wings. Her wings would have to fold and her beak would either be in serious pain or pushed through the mask. Although, I do think that your theory is very well thought through and wonderful!

This same person did another theory that Rover was the one who was supposed to be mayor in New Leaf, but cut out at the last second because he realized it would mean him having to stay in one place and work instead of getting the freedom of travelling that he loves so much. Think about it, Rover was the first one to learn your name, so that's how the "unknown sender" knew your name in the letter. If you need further proof, his name in the Japanese release of the game is "Mishiranu Neko" which translates to "unknown cat".
