I think the monster was the father he speaks to at the end. It's a bootstrap paradox. In 1995 (mention of Oklahoma City), the protagonist investigated the basement. He fell into the backrooms. I'll label the 'present' of his experience as Backrooms Time Y. There, he speaks through a rift into 2009 (FreeCreditReport commercial just before "Are you in my walls?") where the father hears a voice, searches the wall, and falls into Backrooms Time X. His foot's broken or severed (boot in floor by table) and he becomes infected. Later, in Backrooms Time Y, he encounters and chases the protagonist (note the monster's limping posture as it attempts to run in the speaker room). Offscreen, the infected father finds a rift that leads to the 1995 basement where he escapes into the main world, causing the protagonist to investigate.

I really like this theory but the problem with it is that kane confirmed in discord messages on his server that the entity is not a kind of zombie or infected of the sorts, and he said the entity is called "Still Life" in a deleted discord message, so i doubt it really is the father. I still think the bootprints and the boot are definitely the fahter's though and everything played out just as you described but the father just didn't get infected

I think the protagonist's final words were "I was going to fix so much." A mournful reflection on his life, unfairly lost. He was going to make tangible, systemic change with his investigative journalism, but now he'll never get the chance. At least, that's my interpretation.

Because as we see in the beginning, he was on the cusp of exposing big farms for their monopolistic practices, but before he could do that, he was attacked in the real world before being sent to the backrooms. Correction on what MatPat said regarding the first Found Footage: You can actually SEE the creature holding Kane after his camera drops and phases back into reality. So canonically, Kane never returned to reality (his camera did). The second Found Footage also leaves it very ambigous if the girl survived. It is presumed she did but never confirmed. Ravi might have survived, his camcorder just ran out of battery. Perhaps he somehow found a way back shortly after and that's how we FOUND this footage? Anyway great GT Live. Love your vibe,

My theory about the freeze on the monster was that we are seeing it from the perspective of someone watching after finding this footage, like how there is a bunch of speeding through at the start, I think someone was trying to get past all the unimportant parts of the tape and get to the backrooms stuff, and then when the monster appeared, they paused it to take a longer look at what it was. yea :)

This footage is probably the deepest level we’ve seen, as well as being the furthest away on the time line. Stuff from 2022 being sucked in, when the camera man was from 1995. The backrooms is starting to look more occupied as more people are being sucked in.

Big big big grand canyon strech theory here. We know that the backrooms is tied to time, as we have seen time travel and other time anomalies occur in the backrooms. What if our protagonist was never supposed to hear the conversation he mentioned at the beginning, in his timeline the company pushes everyone out of town and that's it, but what if he would be an anomaly and cause the company not to do that. It could like a "canon event" thing where the event of the company pushing out every farmer out of town is supposed to happen no matter what and the universe sort of deletes our protagonist in order for him to be unable to "break the timeline" cuz he is seen a possible anomaly that would change what is supposed to happen.

The guy on the other end of the radio I'm pretty positive said "Are you hearing this?" it's just that his voice might be pretty deep. It also sounds like they say something else after that, but it's too quiet to hear it. Could be "We just need you to stay calm" before what I presume is the monster cutting off the signal. It might be ASYNC on the other end, but because the monster caught the signal, it started to lure the guy away from the tower with radio chatter of it's own to sound like a scientist or soldier.

There's a theory going around that the entity in FF3 is actually the father we see at the end, who fell in and got infected by the bacteria. Anything's possible, but I think it's important to remember this quote from Kane himself when he was asked in his Discord if the entities were zombies: "Is there not enough zombie-related media out there already?? Why do people want more zombies anyway? I think I said that there's no typical zombie infection situation." If Kane still subscribes to this, then this probably isn't an infected-human situation, but rather something else.

A theory I just thought up (no clue if it's good) is that we have seen multiple instances of the backrooms being one thing but not quite right, like sure it's an office, but not really, yeah that's a house but everything is just wrong What if that is happening to people? The monsters are a poor recreation of humans blended with the mold their bodies were covered in, I doubt the backrooms can tell fungus/mold apart from human flesh , so thinking they were the same thing it started iterating, the first monster we see is mold sorta just vaguely in the shape of a human, but now it's getting better at replicating and figuring out what it was doing wrong as it gets more people and gathers more data about how they are suppose to function That's just my random thought tho

Fave theory I seen so far is: Since time is wonky in backrooms, Ravi is in future when he is inside of the house. He is talking to the past dad who opened up the wall and got the whole house no-clipped (that Ravi is now standing in) That's why there's clutter and such when he arrives to the home and walks in. The thing chasing Ravi was the dad.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned this here, but I saw this theory in another video. The father that robbie talks to in the house is the same as the creature that chases him earlier. The theory is that the father noclips after trying to help robbie, and ends up in the backrooms at an earlier point in time. His foot noclips partially as well, since you can hear him kind of cry out in pain. So he no clips into the backrooms version of his house and loses part of his foot, and then slowly gets changed by the bacteria or mold into an entity, eventually coming across robbie and chasing after him. When the video freezes on the entity, you notice his right foot is kind of stubby and weird, and he kind of hobbles when he runs.

Everybody talking about how the dude on the other side of the wall noclipped into the Backrooms as well, but GUYS. HE WAS DRAGGED. I think the party people (the entity we've heard remove that one hazmat suit guy from his team in like the second or third video of the backrooms) got to the dude on the other side, dragged him in, but he managed to escape through the floor of the house in the Backrooms. Not entirely, though, his foot got stuck. He probably lost his toes inside the boot stuck on the floor of the house. And then he limps out of the house. People are saying that the monster in this video was limping before chasing the guy - they are probably the same person.

It was released in 93, but this add was used for about a decade following its release. Anyone alive in the 90s (and early aughts IIRC), and saw children's TV programming, saw this Crossfire ad. Multiple times per program. And it lives with them to this day considering how easy to remember and catchy it was

Theory time! I think Kane took a page out of Classic Minecraft, and leaning into the theory that the backrooms is computer generation gone haywire... What if the world reached it's mathematical integer limit and created something like The Farlands from the early days of Minecraft? Where at a certain distance from the world's origin point the world generation RNG began to break down and create large catacombic walls, only in Kane's backrooms universe, the universe started breaking down and creating an endless catacomb of nonsensical architecture. It could be a stretch, but I think it's a fun potential explanation for *how* the backrooms exists. Would love to hear other thoughts though.

However, now that were seeing deeper and deeper levels assumedly, perhaps this is just the border and the deeper you go, the worse it gets. When we get to the room around 28:00 i believe that's us viewing 1- the space where we saw the structure being built with the windows facing each other from found footage #1 (5:30) 2- that's also the neighborhood from Pitfalls around 8:30 where we enter the house of signs Thus i believe our noclippers are in the same space just different areas they may discover each other alive or not Also the gap in the lower wall resembles the gap oh how we got to the neighborhood in pitfalls.

In the segment where the father character is about to break the wall down to open it up, you mentioned that both characters might be seeing the same perspective of the room. My interpretation is that they are in fact, not only seeing the same side of the wall, as shown by the slight rectangle of shading, but that when the father character starts breaking down the wall, the camera character is occupying the _same space_ as the father character. When the connection is starting to open up, because an object in realspace (the father) was occupying the area, and because the camera guy was already in 'non-real' space, as it were, the collision of trying to make an object occupying 'non-real' space begin to occupy the same, but already occupied, area of realspace forced the obliteration of the realspace object. I don't think the father noclipped, but was rather subjected to the compensation process of whatever 'system' it is that runs the Backrooms. Either he was obliterated outright, or ended up corrupted in some way (likely through the freaky bacteria or mold colony) by the 'system' because a 'non-real' object was trying to occupy the space he was in.

I'm guessing the backrooms is sort of like the upside down, but instead of being mirrored, it's folded. When he's at the wall, he's at a crease in the fold. Reality folded an infinite amount of times would lead to offices connected to homes or streets explaining the layout

The guy who was heard in the house is the one who we saw chasing the protagonist and was also the one who escaped the house. When the guy was trying to break through the wall he got teleported in and got transported to the past seeing that the boot in the ground and the entity was also missing a boot or foot.

1:03:59 I don’t think that the character we follow in found footage #1 actually made it out. I think that when the monster attacks him as he looks down at the chute leading to exit, he fails to jump into chute and the monster kills him. However, when the monster attacks him, he drops the camera down the chute and the camera exits the backrooms. This would explain why we don’t hear him screaming as the camera falls and why we don’t hear or see someone fall to the ground. Also, I think it is important to mention, that if there was a corpse next to the camera, there probably would have been a lot more news coverage about this in the backrooms universe.

Also, if the monsters from the backrooms are able to influence the real world (window and wall smashing) then maybe they (intentionally or not) brought the footage through to the real world, or opened up a way for it to come through (which also may be a reverse of why and how people are being brought in - the monsters or entities or whatever are able to move between the worlds, and when they do so, it activates a way for people or objects to move with them).

16:08 The fact the statue is supposed to represent "compassion", but is facing the wall... to me is a message that the Backrooms has "no compassion" for those trapped inside. While I too believe the Backrooms is an A.I. generated space, I simultaneously don't put it past Kane to be conveying specific messages through aspects of it's construction. Especially when we have something so oddly specific like this statue. There is DEFINITELY subtext hidden throughout these strange environments.

Something I find interesting is that Found Footage 1, where the guy is chased and camera falls back into normal reality, that's the only time we see something "no-clip" OUT of the backrooms. Besides that we only ever see things fall IN or exit out of the door they built in Async. We don't know what the green light does yet, only that it seems to break/alter the backrooms in some way.

I think there is definitely a connection between the house our cameraman finds in the blue-skied wallpaper room, and the one with the forest wallpaper from Informational Video that Peter Tench finds. Also I saw a really good theory in 8-Bit Ryan's video talking about the guy we hear behind the wall, maybe when he pulls back the wall and no-clips in, he got pulled back in time and that is the shoe we see on the ground and he also may be the guy chasing the camera man, partially taken over by the bacteria and gone crazy. You can even maybe see part of his foot missing when it freeze frames him in the speaker room. Also another thing, at the beginning of the video someone is fast forwarding through, and they pause on the monster guy, so someone was absolutely watching it.

I swear I'm not old guys... lol Also, the spot where the two people were talking to each other, it reminded me of a Twilight Zone episode. I believe it was "Little Girl Lost" in which a little girl somehow slipped into a different dimension and in order to get her out, they were drawing the doorway on the wall to get her out of there. It came out in 1962 so seeing that sort of shown in this now is amazing.

In the house part my theory is that the guy redoing the wainscoting is in the real world and that spot is like a crossover between the two, when the guy removes the wainscoting the same thing happens to him just like the start of the video to the first guy. basically the guy gets noclipped.
