Who made the better BVS Batman figure?? (McFarlane vs. Mafex)

The figure is practically the same as the previous one. Colors are certainly the same. I'm still getting mostly for the new branding with Zack Snyder's Justice League instead of the crappy theatrical release

Mafex body and sculpt was replicating a particular pose at that time: The brooding batman with cape hung over shoulders, drooping to the floor, viewed from the back of shoulder. You could find the marketing jmage online. Japanese figures tend to capture certain poses in their figures.

David, check out the FONDJOY Batfleck, same price range as the McFarlane one, it easily beats the McFarlane in terms of sculpt, paint, accessories and likeness.

Here's the issues with the McFarlane Toys Batfleck figure. - Inaccurate shade of grey - Neck is slightly too long - No black paint on belt - Likeness could be better Besides those issues with the figure itself, it's still really great.

the Mafex BvS Batman came out July 2016. almost 8 years ago with original msrp at 6000 jpy. still better than most McFarlane figures.

I found this Batman at Target this past Wednesday I picked it up along with the platinum edition Bale Batman although I left the platinum edition Catwoman behind as I bought another figure I was looking for from the AEW Unmatched series. I really like this Batman I as well have the Justice League one it was the very first Batman I got once I started collecting. And I also have whatever the hell that Flash movie figure is that one stays at the back of my bookcase behind all of my other figures on that shelf.

In most cases the Toddfather is bribing the Reviewers (instead of ramping up the quality of the figures to come even close to back in the days) with free Review copies (Asoka, Brad, Rob, Shartimus, even Josh,...) for more favorable "critic", but it has to be made public by the reviewer or it can be labeled disguised advertising. In defense of David in this case, he is likely only fanboying (McFarlane/ Battfleck) but not showing us that the Todd has economized the blackwash of the whole backside + the innerside of the arms is inexcusable. The figure is still superior to the one off Mafex from 2016 but the Fondjoy is the gold standard now!

Many of McFarlane movie figs have that weird "Mattel-like" likeness going on, where they look like figures based on the comic book adaptions of the movies rather than from the movies themselves. It's kinda odd. For the price point they're at, it's somewhat understandable, it's just odd because a few of them actually do have way better likeness to the actors; like the head from the BvS Batman that came in the Batman 6-pack which looks way better.

Something as small (literally) as the dimple on the chin being missing makes a big difference in capturing Affleck’s likeness.

I was expecting the Mafex to get trashed hard, considering that at the time, Medicom had a really bad QC control. I have the BvS Mafex and yes, it's what I consider a grail despite all its issues. It was way less than Superman, but this one had a lot of problems with loose joints at the lower part of its body. Mine had a breakage last year and I had to buy a knockoff to repair it. The articulation at the should was also not the best and you didn't have real butterfly joints. But yeah, despite all its shortcomings, and it might be because i've worked a LOT on this figure, It's still one of my favorite figures that I have. As for McFarlane....heh...honestly, I think the face is weird. I don't collect McFarlane stuff, except perhaps for its vehicule, but that's all.

For those who are confused... The reason for the inaccurate headsculpt is due to the fact that likeness rights issues only allowed McFarlane Toys to base the figure's likeness on Ben Affleck's stunt double in BvS, that being Richard Cetrone.

The Mafex haves the color more correct to the movie especially the black and gold on the belt. As well the gold fins on the gauntlets even painted gold knuckles and the steel toes on the boots. While this Mafex is years old which no you're way off it came out literally the time of the original movie being 2016 to 2017 so 7 to 8 years old. It did a great job at that but the best BvS figure in 6 inch scale was the Mezco BvS Batman where it was big and bulky. Had the accessories and even had the hooks for the Grapnel gun which Mcfarlane didn't include any changeable hooks. If Mcfarlane for the grey color scheme and the areas of missing paint on their figure as well had thicker and shorter neck even bigger shoulders it would've been better. So fair it's average for me oh, and the batarangs aren't accurate either which is weird since they could've used the Justice League Batarangs which are more accurate in design just bad in color since Ben's Batarangs are painted silver not black.

Sucks WB micromanaged the DCEU. They shot themselves in the foot multiple times via meddling. Botching 2+ hr movies so directors cuts came out, not delaying JL bc of a death, not enough money & time to finish cgi/vfx, etc
