PB Swiss is the Best and I have every German brand & Tool Truck brands. I Love the Wiha, Wera & Snap-on sets. MAC Tools has a new “Mac Grip” soft grip that is comfortable. I’m a screwdriver Snob & Collector and bit Set Collector. I really Like MAC Tools 121 pc RBRT bit set of all my bit sets. I prefer the PB Swiss or Snap-on Ratcheting Screwdriver better than the MAC ratcheting screwdriver, but the MAC 121 pc RBRT bit set in that case is absolutely amazing.

That odd tip for electric outlets and circuit breakers is an ECX tip. I have Klein and Milwaukee screwdrivers with that tip.

I have an obscene collection of screwdrivers and Vessel gets my vote for the top.

I can't argue , their stuff is made extremely well. They are just harder to get ,and harder to warenty than the Wera and they are made as well as the Vessel. You can't go wrong either way if access to the product and it's warenty is available.

Wiha Extra Heavy Duty, period. Snap On are trash since the 80's. Wiha is the real deal.

I'm sure they are very high quality, I have there precition screw drivers. But not their Bolstered HD screwdrivers with a striking cap. Yes , some SnapOn stuff just isn't the bees knees. If I had it to do over ,Snap On combanation and aviation long wrenches, and non impact 3/8 low profile chrome sockets and ratchets would be all the SNap On I would own. They do still make some very good core tools. But so do the German companies. You only know what you know,when you know it. And over the years since the internet ,we have so many more choices.

@@jeffharper410 Actually, being an automotive master tech for the better part of my life, I've found the best Snap On tools are not made by Snap On. Their adjustable wrench made in Spain and file sets made in Portugal are the highest quality of their current tools. Hazet wrenches are far superior. Mind you I have a shop full of Snap On tools that just collect dust now that I've discovered better brands. Knipex pliers, Wiha drivers, Hazet wrenches and ratchets, even Gearwrench (Apex) has stepped up to better durability than Snap On. I will say that my 1948 Snap On F-71-A is the highest quality ratchet I've ever seen. But that is a far cry from what they churn out today. The price is still crazy high though the quality is roughly Harbor Freight-ish today.

@@bobwasmycat Yep, They own Bacho now, very good adjustable wrenches. I have a couple .Both Icon and Gearwrench have come way up in building some fantastic ratchets , I also like the older Srhawille ratchets, I have so much stuff now it's stupid but I'd like to get the Hazet 916 HP 1/2 long version and the Hazet 3/8 8816HP. Ratchet. I just wrench on stuff as I can living in a HOA condo now. And being closer to 57 .. I don't mind buying quality because I have a 13 years old son to pass it all along too. TBH, I had some cheap stuff mixed with very good tool truck stuff over 40 years worth . I have donated the cheap stuff because when I do work on something ,I'm to old to use junk tools , crap tools get you hurt. I filled in the gaps after getting ride of the junk with mostly German stuff . When younger I bought what I could afford ,sometimes the best ,sometimes not at the time. For example , all the SNap On screwdrivers are replacments . The old black handle ones I bought in the 80's returned to petroleum, sweated out all over the drawer and the handles turned white and fell apart!

Save your money up and buy some PB Swiss screwdrivers.

Not the best for heavy automotive repair. I love them for everything but abuse. You can't smack the back of a PB swiss to break rust loose . You can't use a wrench on them very well either. Great for bikes. Technology is changed and Phillips, slotted screwdrivers will be outdated tool in 20 years any way. I'll be 76 and won't care. I still use slotted screwdrivers to remove clips of all sizes ,plastic and spring steel. Soon Phillips will be seen as often as GM s clutch head screws from the 50's . Had to donate that set of screw drivers for the restoration of a 1949 5 window. My point is in 20 years my tools will be erelevent. Electric cars will be made like plastic cigarette lighters, battery life is 10 years and the car around it will last the life of the battery. Thell be disposable vehicles. The ww2 generation reused everything ,glass milk bottles where washed and reused soda bottles too. Even tires got a retread and lived a second life. We are told to recycle yet only 3 out of 10 plastic bottle actually get recycled as it is more costly to reprossess the plastic than to make new. In the future nothing will be reparable. It keeps people in debt always replacing everything they own . My dad had a old copper color GE refrigerator that went 20 years in the house and another 30 years in the garage keeping beer cold. He vacuumed the coils out once a year and replaced the magnetic door seal. I spent 5 grand on a new fridge 5 years ago and it has already been replaced under warranty. It died before 2 years!

Jeff, Great video. I too, like the Vessel screwdrivers and not just on my Japanese cars but Philips screws as well. PB Swiss does make screwdrivers with a striking cap, the 8100/8200 series with their awesome Swissgrip handles, just black in color. Another brand I own which is great for Automotive work is the Wurth Zebra 3K series. Fantasic contoured handle like a Felo Ergonic with a bolster and a striking cap too.

@@jeffreycaban5107 That is good to hear , other than the Wera stubby #3 that will be in my next order, I don't see myself buying alot more screwdrivers . I also have a nice set of Hollow ground not to mention all the bit sets from Brownells. And a collection of 1/4 screw bits that is maddening and seemingly with out end.

@HTR I will give them credit for the best ratcheting screwdriver . Stupid expensive but the most precision with no play in the shaft.
@jeffharper4102 жыл бұрын
@HTR The only one I ever used didn't belong to me. It had a red handle and was in a case full of bits. I used it to tighten some hex bolts on my sons BMX bike between races. I have never been a fan of ratcheting screw drivers , even my old Snap on that long disappeared out of my truck seemed clunky. The handle was to fat as it held bits, the shaft was wobbly and the ratchet ing mechanism seemed underdeveloped, not very precise for a premium brand. It just seemed to get looser over time. The PB Swiss was tight ,and just felt like a good screw driver , nothing had excessive play in it.
