With all the comments you may not read this but I bought a1975Celica new in early March of 75. The car was made in late 1974 , the outlet in the glove box was for a 12volt emergency trubble light that came in the tool kit and had what looked like a 110 house hold plug. Really enjoy watching you build this car

All 74 Vehicles sold in the US had the seat belt interlock. If the front seats were occupied, the engine would not crank without your seat belts being worn. It was so problematic stranding so many people that it was a one-year thing only. And, people who had 74s bypassed the system (with the government's blessing) by pulling the connector under the driver and passenger seat that sensed an occupant. There was a red button usually mounted on the driver's side inside fender. You could pop the hood, push the button, and start the car without belting up. It was for emergencies when the system failed and you needed to start the engine. My Mom had a 74 Pinto. I restored a 74 Firebird. I yanked the whole system and used a 75 Firebird diagram to re-wire it. BTW, in my Firebird the relay box was behind the dash near the heater core. Please yank the whole system, everyone else did!

That outlet in the glovebox came with a little 12 volt DC drop light. It's the same dimensions as a US spec AC outlet. A lot of people tried to plug them in inside their house. The results were interesting to say the least. Not a surprise the quit including that feature.

You deserve many more subscribers than you have, hopefully many more people will subscribe.

Nah, I bolted the grill on and re-measured. I actually barely have room to get a cooling fan in there with just the radiator pushed all the way to the grill. A condenser is 100% not possible, not even a half-size one.

A/C is used for Defrost, so it's still useful in those northern states. Also, if you REALLY wanted to, you can get custom A/C condensers in any size and shape. And yes, you CAN split one big condenser into multiple small ones. The popular electric A/C conversion for old 911s typically has a condenser in front of the driver's front tire. It works despite not being in the typical "front of the radiator" location.

The seatbelt interlock was more than a happy buzzer. If you tried to start the car more than 3 times with the seat occupied and the seatbelt not connected, the interlock would need to be reset by a little switch under the hood or no start for you.

This needs more up votes. Don't troubleshoot the car starter until you verify this system works. Years ago I helped a friend with a '74 Monte Carlo with a no start condition. The government mandated circuit wasn't listed in the wire diagram. We almost replaced the starter until we figured this out.
