I was brought up in a born again Christian church, and if there were more evidence of the joy and peace of Jesus in the eventual many churches I went to, I probably would have stayed going.

I met my Hubby (41 years this fall) on a blind date (sorta, he met me but I was too tired to remember him, GF was taking me home after a slumber party) he was up from Ft. Hood, TX and was a Private. He asked me to marry him after 3 days and we were married 2 months later. Hasn't always been smooth sailing but neither of us would change it. Wonderful videos.

Lovely story! We got engaged on my 20th birthday. My husband put my ring inside a box of roses. To this day he says he doesn't know how that ring got in there but, he had to marry me after I found it in there in front of my whole family! LOL 40 years later we are still together!

Our stories our so similar. We met at church. I knew immediate that I was going to marry my husband. I was 20 and he was 21 when we did get married. We were married in July also. My husband was not interested in dating either. He had recently prayed for a wife and then we met. Love your story!

You guys are such a sweet couple! Our story is quite similar to yours, but a little turned around. We were high school sweethearts, and then he joined the army and was stationed at Ft. Ord in CA. I went out to visit him there and he proposed to me in a diving bell on the wharf in Monterey. We were married in our hometown in MN in 1977. Later, we were stationed at Ft. Carson as newlyweds and, a few months before he got out of the military, our first son was born there, so both CA and CO hold a special place in our hearts! Here we are - 45 years later - still in love, grandparents, and now newly retired and enjoying life's adventure together in GA! Love your channel - I feel like we could be good friends!

Love your story! My daughter will be married 30 years in a few days. They met on a blind date at a Christian concert. He went to see his parents the next morning and told his dad, i met the girl i am going to marry. His dad asked him who, and he had to get her name out of his wallet because he couldn't remember! My daughter laughs and says she was very proper and did not say yes, until the 3rd date. You are bringing back so many wonderful memories of my own courtship! I married one of you shy introverts to. And the similarities from yesterday continue. My husband was an E4 when we got engaged! Not a lot of money that’s for sure. The way he asked me to marry him was that I thought we are on our way to pick out a promise ring, because you know that’s what we did back in The 1970’s. But instead he said, “we know we’re getting married anyway, why should we spend the money on a promise ring, we should just get your engagement ring now.” And that’s what my proposal was! It’s OK. It will be 41 years in September and my mister practical has always taken good care of me. I wouldn’t trade him for the world and I love him more today than I ever thought possible. 💜 AND, we drove through Monarch Pass in Colorado on our honeymoon. Little Red, you reminded me of how I came home from my 3rd date with my soon-to-be husband and announced to my parents, "I'm going to marry him!" to which my father (normally the strong, silent type) said, "Stop acting like a 14-year-old." And me, all of 21 at the time, I thought I had the world by the tail. Long story short, I DID marry him, just 5 months later, and on April 24 we'll have anniversary #48.

I love how you two got engaged!! Bill is so funny! It took my boyfriend and I three months do our first kiss!! We had came home from a youth Campmeeting and were sitting in the truck and he leaned over to kiss me he was so nervous and so was I that he kissed the side of my mouth! I jumped out of the truck to go in the house and he went home! We married after several months and were married forty eight years when he was electrocuted on his job and died! That was the worst day of my life and I miss him so bad every day! We had two wonderful sons, one was 23 and in college, the other one was 14 and in eighth grade!! We are looking to meet him again in Heaven one day!!
